This summer isn’t far away so fans and HG hopefuls are already asking when does the Big Brother 16 casting start. While we don’t have an exact date just yet we can take a look back over the past several seasons to get an idea of when things could kick off.
Seasons 11-14 held their first open casting call event at the very end of March or the very beginning of April. Last year we saw the first audition event moved up by a few weeks to mid-March, likely to coincide with the early season premiere.
Meanwhile, in-person auditions aren’t the only option (BB HG Matt Hoffman even advises against them) and those have their own timeline. Starting in Season 14 applicants were able to submit online that year starting a month ahead of casting events. Then in 2013 the casting process or reviewing applications began on Feb 18th.
So when will everything kick off for BB16? Online applications are already being accepted, but likely aren’t yet being reviewed. I’d expect a similar late February kickoff of the Big Brother casting with open-call events starting mid to late March. With no word from CBS on the new 2014 season premiere date we may be able to get an idea from the starting of those audition dates.

Robyn Kass, casting director for Big Brother 16, revealed on Twitter that we can expect official information on those dates to arrive early March. Once that happens we’ll share the updated details and get everyone ready with what they need to know for their chance to be on Big Brother this summer!

I thought this season was an all-stars season?
Someone starts that same rumor every season. That doesn’t make it any more true this year than any other year in the past. Wait for evidence or an announcement before expecting another All-Stars.

what day does BB16 start?
My prediction is I will set the Big Brother 16 season premiere date for Wednesday, June 18, 2014. The 16 new houseguests will be moving into the Big Brother house starting Saturday, June 14, 2014 and they will be living right behind the front door for 96 days and I predict that the nomination episode will be on every Friday night from June 20 thru September 12, the Veto episode will be on every Sunday night from June 22 thru September 14, which is the night that they will hold a live veto meeting and eviction, where the 13th houseguest will walk out the front door as the 13th evictee that night and round 1 of the final HOH competition will take place that same night. Round 2 of the final HOH competition will take place on Tuesday afternoon, September 16, 2014 and round 3 of the final HOH competition will take place Live on Finale night, which is Wednesday night, September 17, 2014 and the winner of the Final HOH will single-handedly choose who to evict and who to sit next to in the final two and the 14th and last houseguest will be leaving the Big Brother house empty-handed that same night as the 14th evictee, who will become the 9th and final Big Brother jury member, who will join the eight other jury members that night plus the first five evictees will reunite with the nine-member jury panel on finale night and the winner will walk away $1,000,000 richer and the runner-up will walk away $250,000 richer plus America’s favorite houseguest will get the $75,000 jury prize on September 17, 2014!
