CBS has announced its season finale date for Big Brother 26 setting the bookends for the new season set to start on July 17th. Now we’re this close to setting off on a new summer’s adventure with sixteen Houseguests and hmm, teases for a 17th too which sounds more like part of the season’s twist than anything.
Several past seasons we’ve seen Big Brother stretch its self beyond what it should be doing on its runtime so thankfully things are dialed back a little here, but really not nearly enough.
Big Brother 26 will end on Sunday, October 13th at 8:30PM ET/PT with a 90-minute season finale which puts us at just about a 90-day run for the summer series this year. Not bad, but still a nudge too long I’d say.
Originally I thought (hoped?) we might be getting back to an end of September season run but that was bumped back out to mid October when CBS decided to delay almost their entire new season start ups into October. So here we are!
Thanks in part to the NFL though we’re going to have another messy second half of the Big Brother season for BB26. Starting in late August the show times will be bouncing around but at the moment it looks like CBS is keeping Big Brother to its Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights.
Unfortunately there will be several 10PM or later Sunday and Wednesday episodes during the back half of the season, per @BBUS2024’s schedule roundup, which is just going to put a hole in the bottom of the ratings’ boat that night. Eesshh.
We are getting ready for the new season and the new cast which should be revealed really soon considering the premiere is just days away!
