Big Brother 13 picks up steam today in its first week of action in the house and boy have things already been crazy with one HG leaving the game on Thursday. After Rachel revealed her nominations this week it was time for the Veto competition today where the nominees could fight for their chance at safety.
Read on to find out who won and what that means for the game this week.
Big Brother 13 Week 1 Power of Veto results:
BREAKING: Evel Dick Has Left Big Brother 13 – Update: CBS Releases Statement – Evel Dick Releases Statement| July 8, 2011 at 8:49 AM EDT
Last night when the Live Feeds launched everyone noticed Evel Dick was no where to be seen (along with the Rachel’s nominations). As the night wore on we found out Dick had been called to the Diary Room four hours before the Feeds came on. Slowly but surely Daniele, Dick’s daughter, and the rest of the HGs became worried.
Now, in just the past few hours this morning, Daniele was called to the Diary Room where she learned Evel Dick has left Big Brother 13 for personal reasons. As a result, she has earned the Golden Key which will keep her safe until she is only one of ten remaining HGs but she can not compete in any competitions to help her alliance. Daniele stated Dick was already on a plane back to Colorado while earlier in the night other HGs wondered if it could be related to Evel’s girlfriend. We have no other details.
Official Update – Well, it’s official. Dick is gone. Here’s the statement from CBS via EW:
“Due to a personal matter, Big Brother houseguest Dick Donato had to leave the game unexpectedly on Thursday. His departure will be addressed on the episode to be broadcast on Wednesday, July 13.”
Evel Dick’s Update Evel tweeted a couple of messages last night:
I will be releasing a public video statement on @RTVZone in the next couple days concerning my departure from the Big Brother House
But to squash the rumors, I am not in jail, don’t have cancer, my mother son and girlfriend are not in the hospital & I was not kicked out
Don’t bother asking me questions, I won’t be answering… I will let you know when my public statement is posted on @RTVZone.
Thanks for all the concern and well wishes
Very glad to hear Evel and his friends are okay. We’ll let you know when we hear more.
No word yet on if an eviction will still be held this week, but I can’t help but feel it’s too early to skip major game points like an eviction. I’m expecting the game to continue and production to use this as an opportunity to surprise us later.
Update: There are discussions that Evel Dick was disqualified for posting a video on his site, RTVZone.com. I’ve posted the video (warning: NSFW language in the final secs) below the break. I do not believe this was the cause of his departure. Evel was going to be a huge boost to the season and I just don’t see production cutting off their noses over this. CBS’ statement confirms my stance that Dick left by choice, not force.
It’s with great pleasure that I introduce our first ever Big Brother HG guest writer here at Big Brother Network: Matt Hoffman. Regulars here know how much I enjoyed Matt’s game play last season for his strategic approach and lets-make-this-fun attitude.
I was thrilled when Matt agreed to join us here each week through the season to share his unique perspective about the game. Please give Matt a warm welcome and then look out for his posts all season. – Matt (BBN)
Hello, Big Brother superfans! It’s Matt Hoffman from Season 12, and I’ve been carefully selected to dish my thoughts on this season’s episodes to the viewers of the Big Brother Network! With all of the articulate intellects that were in the Brigade (Bra-gade?) with me last summer, I’m quite surprised and flattered that I was the one chosen to pull this duty, so THANK YOU Big Brother Network!
Let’s get right into this. It’s the Big Brother premiere, which means we get to see all the badass totally-not-staged opening intros. First up…
…25-year-old Dominic. Dominic is a virgin that lives at home with his mom. Part one of Dominic’s description is directly related to part two.
Next we meet Cassi. She’s a model and drinks beer. I don’t hate her as much as I thought I would.
Then we meet Lawon, who I definitely hate as much as I thought I would.
Houseguest #4…Keith! When Keith isn’t preaching, he’s chasing girls (his words, not mine). Keith makes Jesus cry.
The next person we meet is Shelly Palin, who I pegged from the start to be my least favorite. Shelly does not disappoint in that category. Her philosophy is “look like a lady, and act like a man”. This is the exact opposite of Brendon’s philosophy, so maybe they should team up?
Up next is AAAADDDDAAAMMMM!!!! We learn very quickly that Adam can scream. Adam was one of my favorites pre-season, but I don’t know how much of that yelling I can take. Especially with Rachel’s cackle going on alongside it.
Lucky number 7…Kalia. She writes sex blogs. I’m just hoping she makes Dominic a man before this season ends.
And finally, the vile and vapid Porsche – who delusionally describes herself as being the “hottest person everywhere she goes”. Which is true, if she spends most of her time volunteering at homeless shelters.
After entering the house and all the annoying shrieking ends, the houseguests sit down to introduce themselves to one another. Keith tells them he’s a matchmaker. In the diary room he says that he doesn’t want them to know he’s an ordained deacon. At home I sit and watch “Human Resource Manager” under his name. Even I, as a notorious Big Brother liar, am thoroughly confused.
Rachel won the first HoH competition on the premiere show and was then informed she’d have to nominate one pair of HGs. Of course that all happened days ago in real life and once the live feeds turned on and we discovered who had been nominated. Read on to find out who was nominated and get your first peek at the Have-Not room.
Big Brother 13 Week 1 Nominations:
Big Brother is back! We’ll be right here on this post discussing the “three shocking surprises” and revealing who are the Dynamic Duos from our Big Brother past. Get ready for some exciting news! I’ll keep updating this post throughout the broadcast.
First aspect of the season’s twists: the new HGs will have to pair up from the start. Wow, we see the 3rd hidden room and my inside source was real (see Update 3.1)! The mystery room is a library like I posted ten days ago. Allison Grodner tweeted that room wouldn’t last long anyway, so is it set to become the Have-Not room?
Julie reveals to the HGs that they’ll need to immediately pair up. Which ever pair wins the first HoH both of them will be safe. They will have to then nominate another pairing who will have to campaign against one another to avoid eviction.
Big Brother 13 HG Pairings:
- Keith & Porsche
- Shelly & Cassi
- Adam & Dominic
- Lawon & Kailia
The new 8 HGs swear allegiance to the group against the inbound former HGs.
Big Brother Dynamic Duos:
- Brendon & Rachel
- Jeff & Jordan
- Evel Dick & Daniele
The first HoH competition has the pairs hanging on to a giant banana. The look pretty slippery, so this can’t be easy. Last pair with a HG hanging wins HoH.
It comes down to Rachel, Daniele, and Evel Dick… Grab your life vests because Rachel wins the first HoH. Julie promises us another twist to “shock” the game.
Okay, this is a big, crazy twist. I think they outdid themselves this season. Here’s how it works. The HG who survives eviction wins a “Golden Key” and becomes immune until there are only 10 HGs left. You can no longer put up 2 people you definitely want to leave because 1 is guaranteed safety for several more weeks. Golden Key holders can’t even participate in any competition until they reach the 10-remaining point. Craziness.
Don’t forget that starting tomorrow morning we’ll have a former HG reviewing the season for us right here on the site. The first article from this mystery HG will be posted Friday morning so be sure to check back in tomorrow.
After tonight’s west coast premiere ends the Live Feeds and Big Brother After Dark will launch (that’s 1AM ET / 10PM PT) so get your BB live feed account signed up and ready now. Reminder that you’ll be able to start using your iOS4 devices tonight (iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch), but CBS has delayed the Android app until Friday. Good thing you can download our free Android App right now from the Android Market!
As the show closed we got a quick preview of what’s to come in the next few episodes and it looks like it didn’t take long for the shirts to come off and the bikinis to come out. We snagged a few quick screenshots over on our Big Brother NSFW site to help get the season started over there. Looks like a good summer for uncensored live feeds!
Check it out! The Live Feeds are now on and the game is running. Evel Dick is missing, but he’s not eliminated, just out of the house for some event. The HGs are getting alone surprisingly well and are playing pranks on each other.
You’ve been waiting for it and now it’s finally here: the Big Brother 13 premiere. Tonight on CBS at 9PM ET/PT the doors to the Big Brother house will open and host Julie Chen will usher us in to a whole new season of excitement.
So far we’ve met the eight new houseguests, you can review their info and pics, and while we don’t know for sure who will make up the Dynamic Duo twist pairs from the past we’ve got some good ideas of who will and who won’t show up tonight.
There are a lot of Big Brother 13 events going on today to get everyone pumped up for tonight’s big event. You’ll get a pretty entertaining segment on today’s The Talk at 2PM ET/PT when Julie and her co-hosts head inside the house for their own abbreviated game. Julie will also host Dr. Will and Mike “Boogie” on the show so that should wrap up Will’s definite decline to return this season.
Later in the day you can watch SuperPass’ Happy Hour show with Chelsia and Missy at 6PM ET (3PM PT) so get your free trial. Right after that at 7PM ET GFQ Network will be hosting a free call-in show on GFQlive.tv to discuss what they hope to see this season.
Then of course the big premiere lands at 9PM ET/PT and once the west coast premiere ends at 10PM PT (1AM ET) the live feeds and BBAD should launch giving us our first live look inside the game. Keep in mind that tonight’s show will feature pre-recorded clips since the HGs entered back on Saturday. So there should be a lot to discover when the Big Brother Feed turns on so sign-up now (3-day free trial) and see it all live.
