Hey there all my BB friends. I was going to go to the Chicago open casting call but my sister’s college graduation fell on the same day. She only had five tickets to give out and she picked me as one of the five people she invited to attend. I absolutely HAD to go. I would never do anything to hurt my little sister’s feelings, especially take away from her special day! So…did anyone here go to the Chicago open casting call? I saw that they were advertising it on the local television stations so I figured there was probably a big crowd. I also thought since Chicago is such a big city, the casting people would be there to personally interact with the people rather than just the local CBS affiliate. I would have loved to have been there! Okay now for some fun news..I HAD A “JESSIE” SIGHTING! I travel quite a bit and I was in the Orange County airport waiting for my luggage and Jessie walked right past me. I am not really good placing names with faces so, at first, he looked really familiar but I couldn’t exactly figure out from where. Then the light bulb moment – it was Jessie from Big Brother! Woo Hoo…except I missed him. But wait – he was walking back toward me (not toward ME but toward where I was standing – by the luggage thingy). As he got next to me I said “Hey! Aren’t you Jessie from Big Brother?” He stopped, looked at me and in a very “bored” tone said “Yeah, What’s up?” I replied “I thought I recognized you!” (I was very excited). Again another “flat” response “Yeah, it’s me.” I said “well…have a good day!” He said “Yeah, thanks.” And with a little bob of his head, he walked off. He was kind of handsome but VERY short. I was a little surprised that no one else seemed to recognize him – at least no one else noticed him or went up to him to talk to him or nudged the person next to them as he walked by. Just quirky ole me. I watched him get his bags, walk outside (I was outside by then waiting for my car) and get in to a car that was being driven by his Mom? Maybe his Mom, I don’t know. It was kind of cool but kind of a let down. He wasn’t very friendly. Maybe he’s just gotten really tired of people bothering him but it was not like I wanted him to pose for a picture with me (I should have thought of that when I was there) or asked for an autograph (not really into autographs – except if you are the author of a book – I collect autographed books…), I was excited to see him in persona and just wanted to say “Hi”, that’s all. How is everyone?
@Daisygirl– How have you been? Haven’t heard from you in a long time!!! I hope all is well! “ANGELWINGS”
Hi everyone.Haven’t heard from you guys in a while! Just wanted to check in and see how everybody’s doing? I hope good!!!
@Matt– Have you heard if they are making any progress in picking the cast? Hope you’re doing o.k., I’d appreciate any info. you can give me! Thank’s!!! “Angelwings”
What’s up, Angela! I’ll get more BB fever and you’ll see me more often as soon as Survivor ends this week
Looking forward to the first leaks about BB, whether its house pics or theme rumors. There were some fun leaks last year that all turned out to be false. Anyone remember the fiber optic walls and squid tank? LOL
@Chilibrad– Good to hear from you again. Is the finale show of Survivor this Sunday? I’ll have to be sure & watch it. I missed a few episodes this season, but I always try to watch the finale. I wonder if Russell will win? I don’t really want him to, but he does kinda deserve it if he does, you have to admit he plays a good game. I would be kinda like him, if I were to get in the BB house this year. Anyway, glad you commented back. Hope to chat again soon! “Angelwings”
Angela, yes, the finale is Sunday. Russ does indeed play a good game, but screws himself out of votes by the way he plays. Hopefully since the contestants are All Stars, they will vote on someones game instead of bitter feelings like last season.
@Chilibrad– I totally agree, I hate it when people vote with their feelings instead of voting for whoever played the best game! I wish Rupert would win, he’s a really genuine nice guy! He would use some of the money for a good cause too, like he did before when he won Americas vote. Well I guess I’ll talk to ya later! “Angelwings”
@Angela: I have not heard any additional news on the casting, but I am anticipating the announcement from Robyn Kass to come before Memorial Day as it has for the past few seasons.
Thanks Matt!!! “Angelwings”
@ Matt Thanks for the info, Matt! I’ll go and unpack… I didn’t even get a call like Angel Wings did…(But glad I didn’t…) I would have said I would come in for a consultation for a full face and body plastic surgery because ‘I just won the lottery’ and get them all hyped up (as much as they did me saying Big Brother on the answering machine) and then after the consultation tell them ‘No thanks’… That would teach them a lesson!! LOL
@Daisygirl, don’t fret. I always though Jessie was a DICK. Now I KNOW 4 sure he’s a dick. I think we would be different. I used to be in the media and was always gracious to those who recognized me (I was in a small town) He should realize that he will represent Big Brother for the rest of his life, and be thankful for the time on the show by being nice to everyone…
But that’s just me… I was brought up to smile and be nice no matter what your day is like…
Good luck to EVERYONE!! This was my first year applying and I LOVED every minute of it!!
Thanks, again, Matt for all your efforts!!
@Tedessa– Hey girl, glad to hear from you again. I should have done what you said about the facial, but like you, I’m not a mean person! Anyway, glad you commented, I haven’t heard from some of my buddies on here in a while. Let’s not give up yet, we still have until July before they move the actual houseguests in, there still might be hope! Hope everythings going well with you! “Angelwings”
@Flower guide with pictures– What exactly are youtakjing about? Is it on a different site or what? Any info. would be helpfyl!!! “Angelwings”
I have to ask a question about something. I hope that this doesn’t sound stupid but I have to ask because of it’s relevance to Big Brother. So here’s my question- does it matter about the food? What I mean by that is on the application I was honest about saying how I don’t drink alcohol, I don’t eat seafood of any kind, I won’t eat anything weird like bugs or crazy stuff like that, and I think that food contests are gross and I really don’t like to participate in things like that. Can anyone tell me if that’s something to worry about? I mean I’m still a person that is outgoing and fun to be around and I still want to be a part of the show. I can’t begin to tell you how badly I want to get that phone call or that email from Big Brother to invite me as a house guest. It’s a dream that I’ve had for a very long time. Any and all advice you might have on this subject is more than welcome and I thank you for it.
yes there is something WRONG with that/// if you dont like something the producers are doing like food contest u dont tell em silly keep it to yourself when you get into the house and you dont want to compete the other house guest will surly vote you out /// how bad do you want to be on BB not too bad im guessing cause i would do anything eat bugs // go without/// food if i have to /// I MEAN REALLY HOW BAD DO YOU WANT TO BE ON BB??????
@Mike– I don’t think it should matter one way or the other. Like you said, your funny & outgoing so that should be all that counts. It just means that you wouldn’t win the nasty food competitions, that’s all. I tried out this season too, but still waiting for a miracle also. I don’t think I would be too good at eating nasty stuff either, but for a half mill. I would definitely try!!! Good to hear from you again. I’m still wishing us all the best of luck. “Angelwings”
I wanted to post a reply to both mikee and angelwings- thank you both for your replies to my initial post. I guess you are both right. Maybe I should not tell them- or maybe it doesn’t matter, either way I am so anxious to have had the chance to audition. I will tell you one thing that I did in my audition that I hope will get attention and that’s when I went behind the curtain and I said a word- not a nasty word but one that I’m keeping to myself in a crazy voice and I think I did the 2 minutes in front of the camera with a sense of energy and “pizazz”. So I guess only time will tell. If nothing I went to the audition, and I was myself. It’s all in the hands of “the powers that be” Thanks again for the replies and I hope to meet some of you- or maybe all of you in the Big Brother House for season 12!
Take Care and Thanks Again.
@Mike– Your welcome! I heard a rumor last night that they had picked the finalists. I hope it’s not true, Anyway, it’s out of our control unless I can come up with a brilliant idea of how to get their attention before the show starts. But who know’s? We still might have a chance! Good Luck to ya!!! “Angelwings”
I have to say that today has been a really, really , really, bad day for me on too many levels to mention. I’ll just get to the point on this one. So today is May 28, 2010. I’ve been up and down this blog and read so many different topics and posts by all the people here that live and breathe Big Brother and are all anxiously awaiting the new season of Big Brother 12. I tried out for BB12 in my area when they had auditions. I really thought that my audition went well. I thought I approached the interview with a unique sense of humor and gave my audition that little tint…as if to say-yeah I’m a nice guy but I can also cause a little drama. I thought I was pretty much “on” for whatever being “on” encompasses. I have gone through the posts and I guess that the house guests have all been chosen. I am very disappointed and sad that I feel this way and that I didn’t get picked. I truly am sad and heartbroken. I thought that this would be my big chance. I have tried tried out before and I just have to tell you that it really hurts, I’m really sad- I wanted to be there. I’m 45 and I have these dreams of being someone rich and famous. I don’t know why I have these dreams..I don’t know why anyone does, but for me- they are there and have always been there and will always be there. So now I have to fade back into the background of a life that is filled with disappointment, and financial heartbreak. I know that this post sounds like “Oh woe is Me” but this day has been painful in so many ways. I really just want to disappear-in a very literal sense. I have had it. I really thought that this time was different and that I had a chance. I’m not one of the “beautiful people” and I know that’s why I probably didn’t get chosen. I gave it the best that I had and with everything else I really thought that this was going to be my year. So, I guess it’s over. The dream is dead. Thanks for reading my post.
Cheer up, Mike! You can’t take it personally, just try again next year. That’s really all you can do, that and not to take it so personally when you’re not chosen. Remember, Evel Dick tried out 6 years in a row before he got on; so did season 11’s Kevin. Chin up, man up, and start to prepare for next year – that is my only advice.
Mike your post sounds very alarming. Please don’t give up hope on life. No one knows if the cast has been picked yet or not. In reference to the article that was posted on the site it said that you literally can have up until the day before and if I’m not mistaken BB 12 doesn’t start until July 8th so there is still plenty of time. I believe everything happens for a reason so if someone isn’t picked then there’s a reason for it. There are many highs and lows in life but you can’t let the let down’s get the best of you. If it’s something you really want, keep trying because I’m sure they take notice. Sometimes you have to continually stay in the fight to get what you want, and it shows how you handle the process as well as the outcomes. In the end it only makes you a better person and shows just how determined you actually are. Take care Mike all is not lost
Dear ChiBrad and Malecia:
Thank you both for your replies to my posts. I know that people hate drama and all that stuff that happens everywhere and people make mountains out of molehills everywhere about the least little things. I am one the people out there that does get annoyed about those things. But the truth of the matter is in my own personal life is that it really does suck. Unemployment, no money, worry, trying to make some money selling art that no one really wants, these are the things that make up my life these days. I used to take my dog for a walk at night to clear my head and it’s good exercise for her too. She’s a ham and loves just about anyone that she meets. As for me-well I’ve always been a little “out there” and a pretty outgoing person- I used to honestly believe that there’s no such thing as a “stranger” because we are really all connected by something or someone. I used to love meeting people and just making small talk with anyone. But these days I have to tell ya- I don’t want to talk to anyone. I just want to walk. I don’t want to engage in conversation, talk about the weather, and whether or not this one or that one will do this or that or the other thing. I just want to be LEFT ALONE. In the simplest most uncomplicated terms- I don’t want to talk to anyone or even be talked to by anyone. This whole “Big Brother” thing was a dream that I have wanted for the longest time, and I have to be honest when I walked away from the audition this time it just felt right. Truth be told no one has any control of who gets picked and who doesn’t. I know that and I understand that whole concept. I guess it’s just where I am in my life and where I want to be and knowing that the chances of me getting there are impossible- or damn near close. I often wonder why I’m such a dreamer- when the chances are so high against me in the first place. But it is what it is. So- is it the whole “Woe is me” thing? Yeah- it is. Sorry for the drama to all the haters out there. I’m just someone that’s not happy in my life right now. It’s a long road to wherever it is that I’m going…and when I get there I’m not sure if I want to be there- or if I even belong there. This is my life and Yeah- it SUCKS!
Thanks again for all your kind words and support. I really do appreciate it.
@Mike– I’m sorry that you are feeling sooooo bad! When I posted that they had already picked the houseguests, I was just going on a “RUMOR”!!!! So, PLEASE, don’t give up!!! I haven’t. I will say this though, I just found out last week that they think my grandfather has lukemia & they have started him on chemotherapy. So now I’m kinda wondering if that might be the reason I don’t get picked. Maybe it’s God’s way of keeping me here in my grandpa’s time of need! As for you, please try to cheer up & don’t ever give up!!!! My ears are always open if you need to vent some more.
Sincerely, “Angelwings”
I just wanted to know why you stopped recruiting Older people over 50 lets say?? Is it because it is a younger Fan base?? I think many older people watch Big Brother and should be in the House next year…
Nitti, I agree with you. I am an older person and have watched from the beginning. At that time I was in my 50’s so you can tell about what age I am now. I luv it and was hooked from day 1. I have the live feeds and showtime, etc, etc . Can’t wait for it to start July 8. Wish they would do a winter edition as well. Mike, hang in there honey. Rough patches are a part of life. There are many battles to fight and I and my family have many battle scars, but we don’t give up; there is always hope to cling to. If that door is not meant to be walked through, don’t look back ;put your energies into other things and then try again next year. You are still very young, even though you think you’re not.
@Nitti48: I haven’t heard anything to make me think they’re disregarding applicants over the age of 50. If you’re the right person, regardless of age (think Jerry), then they’re going to select you.
OK for next year its on..At 61 and retired wifey says I never shutup but when I was younger was an Introvert,hehe..but I am sure when it comes to Application being Bi-Polar will give me the Boot..Its been under control for 31 years but you know the way people think..I diagree..who to say everybodyelse is not normal and I am..Either way I totally Enjoy the Show and will watch till I am Senile or have Demantia..Good things never grow old…Thanks
@Nikki– I am bipolar too, but it did’nt stop me from trying out. And if you have read any of my blogs or comments on these sites, I am just as normal as anybody else & a H.. of alot nicer than most folks!!! I am a common housewife, I’m 37yrs old. been married for 18yrs. and have 2 teenagers . Don’t give up is my motto!!! Good Luck to ya and anyone else that tried out, there might still be hope, it’s not July yet!!!! “Angelwings”
I was wanting to know, If canadians could apply? I know the show already started, but just courious?
Assessing the cash flow is another important element in the organization strategy format, so as to sustain a normal money flow to meet the essential capital requirements. Probability of monetary crisis and also the ways of crisis management should be mentioned within the structure. The company technique must consist of the advertising plans and strategy leading to the expansion from the organization.
