With no new episode of Big Brother 25 on tonight, and the houseguests recently celebrating the halfway point, now is a great time to take a look at the state of the game.
First of all, let it sink in that it is almost October and we are JUST NOW at the halfway mark. Also, we recently saw a reminder that only two people have actually gone home since Hisam (Red and Izzy). Because Jag stayed after his eviction, and Jared and Cameron are walking about the house as you read this. What an odd season. One thing is for sure, love it or hate it by day 100, Big Brother 25 will be a memorable one.
What’s even more odd, though, is how broken the house is. I can’t remember there ever being so many failed alliances, deals and just plain old trust. Right now, I think the only solid bonds in the house are Cirie and Jared (which likely ends Thursday night) and Jag and Matt. I think Cory and America are solid, but America is so into the game, I think she would probably love backastabbing her showmance. I have no reason to think that, but it’s just something I’m feeling.
Right now Jag and Matt are probably playing the hardest, and there is a world where I could see them getting far in the game, or even to the end. But right now, their target is growing, or at least some people are trying to make it grow. But they’re working hard to get the heat off themselves and onto others (Cory and Felicia, for example).
One thing that is pretty remarkable is that Cirie is still not being looked at as an immediate threat or target. And if Jared goes home Thursday, her game opens up even more. That is if she can kind of get out of the rut she seems to be in. She just seems really unhappy and it’s obvious that Big Brother isn’t as fun for her as Survivor was. So if she can flip her switch back on, she could really make this happen. To think she’s barely giving it half of herself and is still doing so well is a testament of how good she is at reality TV game shows.
Another thing I want to note is how Bowie Jane is finally coming into her own. I still don’t enjoy her game, and think she is a wasted casting spot, but her eyes are opening and she seems to be gravitating toward the right people – ones who can see her loyalty. But that’s not me turning any kind of corner here as a Bowie fan. Just no. But it’s something I’ve noticed recently. And now she’s probably going to get dragged to the end as someone who could easily be beaten. We know how often that happens.
So it seems like the next couple of targets will be Felicia and Cory. And if Cameron gets back in the game Thursday night, they’d really be making a huge mistake to just let him stick around. The next shot they get, they have to take it, or he will win this game.
Other than Cameron (and maybe Cirie if she gets to the end), I think the person who has the best shot at winning – as of this moment – is Matt. Even when Matt gets in trouble, no one ever seems really that mad at him. And he isn’t considered the biggest competition threat. One thing that he could regret doing, however, is letting it be known that he was voted on to play in that America’s vote competition. He shouldn’t have let anyone know he was popular with the American public.
And that’s how I see the game at this moment. It’s Week 8 and there’s still a lot of game to be played (despite it being OCTOBER ALMOST). So a lot can change. What do you think will be happening as we get further into the season of BB25?
