Move ahead to 2:50 AM BBT as Vanessa and Julia talk alone in the back bedroom. Vanessa is working on Julia that Austin can’t be trusted. Julia tells Vanessa that she’d rather Van be there than Austin. “Sorry, not sorry,” says Julia. We’ve seen Julia pulling toward Vanessa while Liz aligned with Austin, so this shouldn’t be a surprise though I did get some push back last night in reader discussions when I suggested Julia would vote Austin out over Vanessa if the two were on the Block together.
Following Vanessa’s prompting, Julia heads upstairs to talk with Steve. Flashback to 3:01 AM BBT. Per Vanessa’s suggestions Julia tells Steve that her deal would be that if he doesn’t put her up then if she wins Veto she wouldn’t use it and would then vote how Steve wants. Now I’m sure there’s a caveat in there that as long as Steve wants anyone but Liz out she’d vote his way.
Backtracking just a bit, John and Steve had another talk a little earlier (2:35 AM BBT) where Steve told John about the Austin & Liz nominations idea. John agrees and takes it farther saying he thinks Austin should go in case there are any deals between Vanessa and Austin. Hmm, well that’d be different from my expectation that Liz was the most likely leaving this week per Vanessa’s expected plan.
Steve and Vanessa catch up again, move to 3:28 AM BBT. Vanessa explains what Julia told her as well about the deal offer to not use the Veto if she wins it. Steve thinks Julia would be a fool to not save Liz, but Vanessa believes they could convince her of that and then do whatever they want. There’s also talk from Vanessa that maybe it’d be better for sending Austin to Jury. Really? Considering Vanessa could play the middle of Austin and Julia with both turning to her over the other I’m surprised to hear her make this suggestion. But now we’re getting ahead of ourselves with talks for next week’s eviction.
Later today when the Nominations Ceremony is held, Steve will nominate Austin and Liz. His team of three with John and Vanessa, will be fighting to keep that Veto out of the Austwins’ hands and especially not letting Julia get it. We’ll have those results in Saturday’s Veto comp.
What do you think of Steve’s choices? Should he be putting up the twins together or do you follow their reasoning that keeping the weakest of the three off the Block gives them great chance at making sure one of the two goes next? Share your thoughts!
