One of the best parts of the Big Brother 16 preseason has been all the speculating and debating we’ve been able to enjoy. We tried to guess at the cast, the theme, and now we’re working through the cryptic twists. But are we about to see an old twist in a new way?
The Big Brother fan community has spun out some fantastic theories on what we’ll face this season and a good one that I’ve seen discussed in a few versions, including Adam Poch’s discussion here or another one over at Big Brother Access, is how we will be Team America and control a player. But what if we just control Team America?
It almost seems obvious from the twist’s name, “Team America.” If we’re just voting on little things then it’s not a big deal, but if America is voting on a collective set of actions or even a group of Houseguests (a team, if you will) then it seems to suit the name well.
While we discuss this, keep in mind there’s still no solid proof that we’ll even have teams of HGs. Yes, there are groups for at least the move-in, but beyond that is unknown for groupings or even production-forced teams. Okay, let’s keep going.
We’ve already seen “America’s Player” back on Big Brother 8 with Eric Stein (that’s the face poorly edited in to the header image above) and it was actually some fun times with that twist. A set of eight players doing our bidding would be a massive extension of it.
Of course this could all be too much to effectively work well. Half the house doing what we tell them? Seems like it might not leave enough “free will” HGs. So maybe scale it back to just one of them, but then that’s been done before. Okay, I have no idea!
There are so many ways this could go and now that we know for sure the HGs moved in to the house in groups there’s a chance we could be looking at teams. Hopefully however it turns out it’ll be fun and successful, ya know, unlike some other seasons’ twists!

I think that the first vote for Team America might decide America’s Player if that’s the case because it asked who we would have in an alliance. Which means Frankie would be it.
Since there will initially be 4 noms on the block, i’m thinking that maybe once the final 4 noms are decided that we might get to take one of them off the block. Therefore as a “team” America decides to make a nom safe from eviction.
It would be cool to use Team America to bring fun in the game. Use Team America like Martha the Moose in BBCan. Give them task to spice up the game. Let the players decide the game.
