Some people say that Big Brother does not get real until the first eviction… well, now its REAL! And this week has the potential to be REAL AWESOME!
Joey was a great personality, and I am sure a lot of fun to hang out with. Sadly the person we saw in her interview with Julie was not the person we saw in the house. Superfans do not like recruits on the show, but we need them to cause instant drama. If she only realized you need to listen more than talk to get far in that house. And she literally talked her way out the door!
I am happy that Paola stayed, and she gave a great speech! That was the sassy player we were expecting from her preseason interviews. The fiery NY attitude soon went away when she proved that she does suck in competitions. And that will probably lead to her going back up on the block. This twist will make HoH’s target weaker players in hope of keeping their nominations up on the block. Then they can start playing the “backdoor” game if they choose.
Last week we saw Frankie & Caleb work together as HoH’s – and even though Amber is a member of the Bomb Squad (FYI – so am I, and so are you, and so is Julie Chen) Devin has been so unpredictable, we’ll see if she will actually work with him. Whoever picks their nominees first should have the advantage, so Amber could screw Devin over and pick his nominees.
Caleb already got in Amber’s ear and ran through possible scenarios literally less than 10 minutes after she won HoH, including one where he would volunteer to go up. Ummm that worked out great for BB8 Dustin & BB13 Lawon. We don’t really know what is truly going through her mind right now. Whereas Devin speaks his mind, and often changes his mind – sometimes mid sentence.
Derrick and Brittany seem to be scared right out of the gate that they will be nominated. Derrick fell off the HoH competition seconds into it, and Brittany has been pretty vocal that she does not like Devin and his bullying tactics. Victoria may also be going back on the block as she does not have any solid alliances and still appears to be a weak player. Could one of the HoH’s possibly try to nominate Brittany & Victoria again? And does anyone even know that Jocosta is in the house?
Last week Caleb had to pick 4 people to be Have Nots for the week, and Cody, Joey, Brittany, and Hayden all volunteered. While this strategy worked for BB14 winner Ian Terry, after seeing the conditions this year, I do not think anyone will volunteer again. With Nominations & Battle of the Block taking up the Sunday show, looks like the winning HoH will have to make a few enemies this week. I am not a big fan of this method, but this will add even more drama to a week that could go down in BB History as one of the crazier ones. I mean, would anyone be surprised if Devin’s nominees win & he loses power and has a complete meltdown? Here’s to hoping!!!!
Talk to you all again on Tuesday when I give my ratings. Devin should be able to shed his Tofurkey of the Week title – who will end up getting it???
*Note* – I wrote this before I went to bed, and when I woke up the nominations were already done. Amber nominated Hayden & Nicole with the intent of them winning the BotB against Devin’s nominees Paola & Brittany. I am rooting for this to backfire and Amber to eventually backdoor Devin – but right now he is the star of the show (not for the right reasons) and probably not going anywhere for now. HAPPY 4th of July!

Good blog. Happy 4th to you too Adam.
Great analysis. But i’m waiting for Devins star to turn into a black hole. And for the record….you were right about Frankie. I doubted his abilities as a good game player. But he has turned into one of the best this season. If not THE best.
