While the main attraction was finding out who won Big Brother 16 there was a LOT of interest from fans to discover which of the HGs would get America’s Favorite Player.
The race for winning Big Brother’s Favorite Houseguest looked to be between Donny, Zach, and Frankie who received some major support from his family. Who would take home the title and the $25,000 check with it? Julie revealed the news at the very end of the Big Brother season finale on Wednesday.
Julie revealed there were over 10 million votes and the winner pulled in more than 5 million votes was:
Big Brother 16 America’s Favorite Player:
Joining Donny in the top bracket was Nicole and Zach, though we don’t know their order or % of votes earned. Wow! That’s a great group of Houseguests picked by viewers and all three should be very pleased with the honor.
What do you think of America’s vote? Did your fav get the win?
Tonight on Big Brother 16 the season finale reveals the last HoH of the summer and the Jury’s reveal of who won Big Brother! Stay tuned as cover it all starting at 9:30PM ET after the Survivor premiere.
Last week’s cliffhanger left us with Cody, Derrick, and Victoria preparing to enter the final Head of Household competition of the season. Endurance was up first with a mental and physical challenge not far behind. Both of those rounds are already over (spoilers) and now we await the third and deciding round held live during tonight’s finale.
Not only will we get a series of competitions but the season’s Houseguests return! We’ll see the first five HGs back together on stage along with the return of the Jury and their roundtable debate hosted by none other than the excellent Dr. Will Kirby.
Can Derrick win over the Jury with his masterful game play and best Cody or could we never find out and one of the guys flips on the Hitmen to take Victoria to the end? We’re about to find out!
Big Brother 16 Final HoH – Round 1:
Endurance competition with a hang gliding theme. Victoria is out first which means the Hitmen control this round’s win. As soon as Victoria drops the guys start debating what to do.
Derrick says he’s worried about beating Victoria in R2. Later this conversation comes up and COdy gets upset as we see in his DR here. Derrick hangs out awhile longer and then… drops.
- Cody wins Round 1
Cody will now move on to Round 3 while Derrick and Victoria must compete in Round 2.
Big Brother 16 Final HoH – Round 2 – “Ancient BBgypt”:
Much like last season, the competitors had to place face plates high on a wall while attached to a harness. First player to get the sequence correct will move on to Round 3.
Derrick completes in 15:29. Victoria finishes in 30:03.
- Derrick wins Round 2
Derrick and Cody will now face off in Round 3 of the Final Head of Household comp. “But first” it’s time to hear from the Jury at their Roundtable discussion with Dr. Will.
Big Brother 16 Jury Roundtable:
Nicole is being a champion for Derrick saying Cody hasn’t done much. Donny says Derrick betrayed allies (secretly referencing Team America, I’d guess) and Frankie agrees that Derrick used the death of their grandfathers to create a bond. Jocasta says Derrick fake prayed with her so she will not be giving him any “sugar.”
CBS will debut Big Brother 17 next summer starting in 2015 after ratings continued to improve and deliver for its home network earning a double order for the series from executives.
As was expected the news of Big Brother’s renewal came at the very end of this season with the finale, but in a surprising move CBS has ordered not one, but two additional seasons at once. That means we’ll be watching at least BB17 in 2015 and BB18 in 2016 with the chance for yet even more beyond that.
Overall ratings increased this year by 2% for viewership climbing from 7.39 million last season to 7.56 million for this latest installment of our favorite reality television series. The key demographic for the series, adults 18-49, also grew by a 4% increase which is great news.
No specific date was provided for the Big Brother 17 premiere, but after two straight seasons of a late June launch I think it’s safe to expect that again. I’ll be interested to see if they push the calendar out for another near 100-day run again next though as things did run about a week too long.
If you think you have what it takes then be sure to apply as Julie Chen suggests we won’t be seeing another All-Stars season anytime soon with all-new faces delivering such success for the show.
Following along with CBS’s renewal it was announced that “Big Brother After Dark” has an additional season planned for next summer after receiving a one-year extension. That series will return on the soon-to-be rebranded POP channel which currently goes by TVGN.
Dr. Will Kirby is back as the Jury’s host which was sure to tickle several of the fans. I’d love to hear what Dr. Will had to say about Zach’s impersonations with his “I hate you all” type speeches! Hopefully we’ll get a more exchanges between them.
The Big Brother Jury looks pretty calm and at peace with their situation except for Frankie. He did promise the guys he would emerge for him eviction ashes like the phoenix, rule over the Jury, and handpick the winner through his power of persuasion. Maybe Caleb gave him another “shut up, Frankie.”
Overall it looks like the Jury is excited for the job their about to do when they vote to crown the winner of Big Brother 16. Can’t wait to see what they decide! What do you think will happen?
I think we’ve got the biggest and best events from what shaped the season and drove the storyline here. BB16 might not have been wild and out of control, but there’s no denying that big events did happen, even if they were subtle. Of course there’s nothing subtle about a Zach Attack!
#5 Caleb Flips the Vote, Saves Zach, & Breaks Up An Alliance
Rewind to Week 6. Zach was up on the block after a failed attempt to get Caleb out the door when their Battle of the Block plan fell apart. (As it seemed to every week!) After losing in the Comic Book Hero Veto challenge things looked very bleak for Zach’s chance. Speaking of heroes, one showed up for Zach.
Caleb might have been the last in the guys alliance to be told about the plan to send Zach home and maybe that’s why he was the first to raise the question of just why they were voting out one of their numbers this early in the game. He was right.
The night before the eviction Caleb campaigned through the house to bring Zach back from the brink of eviction and ultimately he saved him. Sure, Zach was still evicted two weeks later, but I think he owes Caleb a beer for keeping him in the game those extra two weeks.
Not only did that night’s move by Caleb shift Zach to safety it also broke up the Rationales and put the target spotlight on Nicole and Hayden. It was a cascading effect of revelations that night as Frankie learned how close he came to being backdoor’d and was saved when Christine won that Veto.
#4 Zach Attack! Ya Froot Loop Dingus
Can you even narrow down Zach to one event? He was the biggest showman of the season and knew he was there to entertain. If anyone didn’t take the game too seriously or worry about the impact of their antics it was Zach.
I think the first time we really saw Zach go in to action was the day of that infamous Veto meeting in Week 2. Devin decided to turn against his Bomb Squad and target Zach for eviction, but this seemed like the Zach’s ideal opportunity to blow Devin’s game out of the water and the Bomb Squad along with it. That sure wasn’t the last time we saw Zach Attack either.
Three Houseguests remain on Big Brother 16 ahead of tonight’s season finale where one of them will be evicted, one will snag $50K, and another will be crowned the winner of Big Brother! It’s time for the last predictions of the season.
We know which two players will end up in third round of the final HoH comp and while I’m fairly confident who will be moving on the Final 2 let’s take a look at all the possibilities.
