The Big Brother game changed when Dr. Will Kirby won. He showed that a charming, chaotic showman could be a fun and calculated player. Future winners would then go on to study his game. He was the franchise’s spokesman and was deemed one of the greatest Big Brother players.
He manipulated his fellow houseguests with a lie and a smile. We haven’t seen Will on competitive reality TV for a while. However, he has been on many reality programming and television series, including Dr. 90210 and The Book of Boba Fett.
In 2023, Big Brother fans thought Will would finally return to competitive reality TV when he appeared on The Traitors US Season 2. However, it was just a guest appearance. Then, in September, Will announced his exit from hosting the Big Brother roundtable, a gig he has had since Big Brother 15. Big Brother 24 winner Taylor Hale took over the duty for Big Brother 26.
In October, Entertainment Weekly announced that Will would appear on the upcoming Deal or No Deal Island. This marks his triumphant return to competitive reality TV. In November, People and other publications revealed the official Deal or No Deal Island Season 2 trailer.
It shows a glimpse of the new contestants, many reality TV newbies. However, Deal or No Deal Island Season 2 does include three reality TV veterans, Will, and Survivor legends Parvati Shallow and David Genat. The trailer for the upcoming season shows Will up to some of his old tricks, including not putting extreme effort into competitions and having fun as he plays.
In addition to the trailer, EW had an exclusive interview with Will and the other Deal or No Deal Island players. Will claims he decided to do the show because he wanted to make his daughter laugh by doing something ridiculous while on it. He says he’s not in it for the money. Therefore, we should probably expect some fun Will antics for however long he’s on the series. But we might not want to invest too much time hoping Will wins Deal or No Deal Island.
With Will no longer hosting the Big Brother roundtable, this appearance might be the start of his official return to competitive reality TV. We may even get a chance to see him play The Traitors, not just make a guest appearance. We’re excited to see Will on Deal or No Deal Island and wherever he appears next.
