‘Celebrity Big Brother’ Ratings Come Out Strong In Season Premiere

CBS debuted the new Celebrity Big Brother series last night and the numbers actually turned out pretty great! CBS could have a winner on its hands here, but its biggest challenger is about to get started.

On Wednesday night the Big Brother Celebrity edition’s premiere brought in a 1.8 rating among adults in the coveted 18-49 demographic along with a fantastic 7.3 million viewers! That number was up 24 percent over the BB19 premiere last summer. That’s huge!

Big Brother managed to win the night with these ratings and that’s great news for a positive start to the new off-season installment, but it won’t be that easy the rest of the time. Starting Friday night NBC will be kicking off their Olympics 2018 coverage and that’s going to be a serious competitor to the BB series. It’s of course also the likely reason CBS even took a shot with a Celebrity version so they’re prepared for this challenge and know the ratings may not be able to hold up as well the rest of the time.

There’s no guarantee we’ll get another CBB, but if the numbers can be a knockout and maintain a reasonable portion of what they saw last night then we might have good reason to cross our fingers and hope for another season sooner than four years from now.

  1. I think it will even go up because of Pondarosa. She did lit up the social media/news media today when she spilled some ‘T about the WH, regardless of how bad her credibility is. lol..I thought Ross did a good job interviewing her. ha! he made the ‘breaking story today.

  2. Just don’t muck it up Big Brother producers by adding a veteran to this group of celebrities. Each one is a newbie so, let them all play and let us see who wins out at the very end! Sure will beat the past regular seasons of Big Brother with vacationing, millenials only intent on collecting their weekly stipends without even trying to play the game at all!
