It’s the calm before the Big Brother storm. Tensions are starting to mount as the honeymoon stage of Big Brother 22 is ending this week. For the 2nd week in a row – a classic BB player is walking out the door for their reputation, not their actual game. Collectively, as a fanbase, we have been pretty bored this season with the gameplay – as the first 4 HoH’s have tried to keep the peace in the house by making “safe” nominations. The tide is turning, however – as the whispers are getting louder – and alliances are starting to crumble. MAYBE this will help save this season from being a complete snoozefest. WE NEED A POWERSHIFT – this week’s HoH will be so crucial for the players and for us.
But first – let’s take a look back at the week that was – and how everyone did to help or hurt their standing in the BB22 house.
Kevin Campbell – 5 strips of Bacon – winning Veto when you are on the block is the absolute best feeling in the Big Brother game. That is also the best night of sleep you get in the house because you know no matter what – you are not going home. Kevin was not that target this week – but it was still crucial for him to win for his own psyche. We FINALLY saw Kevin shed the Debbie Downer costume he was wearing the first 3 1/2 weeks – and now we are seeing the aggressive sassy Kevin that made his way to the Final 3 in BB11. People are also starting to see him as a valuable ally – so let’s see if he can keep this momentum going.
Enzo Palumbo – 4 strips of Bacon – what could have been another case of HoHitis (see Memphis week 2) – turned into a pretty smooth & easy HoH week. He gave himself a 6.5 for the week when rating his HoH reign – so he knew he blew an opportunity to “make a huge move.” Self-awareness in this game (as well as in the world) is a very important character trait to have.He is walking out of his HoH not covered in blood as he had said in the DR – but without a target on his back. If he wins another HoH – don’t expect it to be such an easy ride.
Tyler Crispen – 3 strips of Bacon – Tyler REALLY dodged a bullet this week when the “wall-yeller” called out Cody & Nicole as playing everyone – because… well… Tyler is playing everyone! He must be made of Teflon because nothing ever sticks to him and no one realizes he is in fact the biggest threat to win it all. I am still upset that he called old Big Brother boring – yet he knows how to play new Big Brother better than anyone. I still do not understand how he does it – maybe it’s the hair?
Christmas Abbott – 3 strips of Bacon – normally, if anyone that would volunteer to go on the block – I would throw Tofu at them. Yet Christmas was able to make this move with little fear as Kaysar was already one foot out the door. She was also able to use that move to get closer to Enzo (how much closer can they get after having 13 star babies last week???) – as well as having conversations all over the house to gather information. It was odd that she did not really campaign in the process – but unlike Dustin in Season 8 – this move will not come back to bite her.
Bayleigh Dayton – 2 strips of Bacon – people are starting to get on Bayleigh’s nerves and if this was BB19 – she would have probably thrown a fit by now. Good thing she is not taking the bait and actually playing it strategically. However – if she ends up on the block – fireworks will ensue.
Da’Vonne Rogers – 1 strip of Bacon – the fire has been lit inside of Da’Vonne – and she realizes that she needs to do something to control her own fate in the house. If the battle between her & Dani goes down as I am expecting, things can get really brutal (but fun for us!!!). Now would be a great time for her to win her first comp in 3 seasons!
Nicole Franzel – 1 strip of Tofu – can someone PLEASE explain to me what game Nicole is playing? Other than agreeing with what Dani says and crying when people talk about her – what else is there? How did this girl win a season?? Oh riiight – she had other people doing her dirty work. She is being mentioned by a couple of them as someone who needs to go up – but other people are making themselves bigger targets so Nicole will just coast through a few more weeks.
Cody Calafiore – 1 strip of Tofu – Cody was / is visibly shook that the “wall-yeller” called him out for “playing everyone.” The 2nd half of the week he went into damage control – but as long as he has Tyler & Enzo there to protect him (newly created alliance called Triple Thr3at) he should be able to weasel his way out of danger.
Ian Terry – 2 strips of Tofu – last week Ian seemed clueless on what was going on in the house. He has started to put together the pieces and now sees the big alliances and the core of it being Nicole & Cody. He was certainly helped by the wall-yeller kick-starting his brain & his conversations with Kaysar lining up who is with who. With the easy targets now all but gone, he will start showing up in people’s scopes and he needs to step up or get to steppin.
Kaysar Ridha – 3 strips of Tofu – Kaysar was doomed from the start because of his connection with Janelle 15 years ago. This put the targets on their backs the second they walked in the door. Yet Kaysar was able to win the first Safety Suite to save the two of them. However – this will be the 4th time he was evicted in his 3 seasons before the jury phase started. His waffling on whether or not to go out with a bang is very frustrating. He tries to be such a positive person both in the house and in his life – but cmon man – if your BB career is over – cover the house in gas, light the match, and burn the house down!!!
Memphis Garrett – 4 strips of Tofu – “early to bed early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy & wise.” Unfortunately in the Big Brother house this makes you boring and out of the loop on all of the conversations that go on late at night. I don’t think Dan’s pre-game pep talks with Memphis included him going to sleep at 10pm every night. While his alliance are all busy coming up with plans for the future – he’s trying to come up with topics for his morning show… that no one is really impressed with.
David Alexander – 5 strips of Tofu – last week’s Tofurkey of the Week moves up 1 spot this week because, well, he was not the worst player this week. But still pretty close. Kevin was the only one with less support in the house and David recognized that. At this point – if the big guns start firing at each other – David will slide his way deep into the game as no one will want to “waste” their HoH on him.
That brings us to the Tofurkey of the week – and this week it goes to the self-proclaimed heir to the BB Queen throne Daniele Donato. Perception vs reality is the biggest challenge in the BB house. What you think is going on is not always the truth – and Dani has been playing way too hard considering the cushy position she was in. Her barbs are really starting to get under people’s skin. The guys are onto her, the girls are onto her, and she does not realize how many people are after her.
Normally Dani has a good read on the house – and she does sense something is up – but thinks she has the numbers in her corner to keep being the snarky snake. Don’t be surprised if she is sent packing depending on who wins HoH this week. Of course – this is Dani Donato we are talking about – so I also would not be surprised if she goes out there and wins HoH this week and makes the first move against someone(s) she was previously aligned with
There ya go – Week 4 is wrapping up and we still have 10 evictions to go. This season has to get better right? RIGHT?
My question of the week is – other than Kaysar – who do you think the best player to not make the Jury?
