Big Brother 22 ‘BB Basement’ Twist Comes To An End

BB Basement twist powers

As the new Neighbor Week twist arrives at the Big Brother 22 House we’re also saying goodbye to the “BB Basement” twist on its way out the side exit. The three-pronged attempt at shaking up the season and forcing a power shift gave us a little jolt, but not the one we really needed and now the ride is over.

You’ll remember we had David’s Disruptor, Christmas’s Blocker, and Dani’s Replay. Thursday was the last chance for any of the remaining powers to be used and sure enough, we got one last play with the Basement’s Replay power thanks to Dani. Earlier in the day Dani had offered her power up to Memphis in exchange for safety from him should he win. Well he didn’t, Cody won, but at least we ended up seeing two of the three get used. Dani’s move will show up on Sunday’s episode.

This afternoon Memphis discussed with Christmas how Dani had used the power on him instead of herself. Christmas suggested Dani hadn’t really wanted much to do with the HOH role and so she wouldn’t have wanted a second round of the trouble that came with it.

Christmas’s power, the Blocker, expired without use last Monday when there was no renom situation at the Veto meeting. Despite Dani’s complaining, I’d suggest that Christmas had the weakest power of the three. There was only one real chance to use it from its three weeks and that was when Ian was going up, so it wasn’t an issue for Christmas.

In the end, only David’s Disruptor power really had an impact on the season when he took himself down the week we saw Ian head out to Jury. So that was pretty good and at least the entire twist didn’t fall flat as we often see with these intricate twists.

Let’s see what happens with Dr Will’s arrival, but I wouldn’t impact anything dramatic. This one seems more flashy than substance when it comes to the game, but that prize versus power dilemma could force an interesting turn at Saturday’s Veto comp.
