Big Brother 19: Battle Back This Friday & Feeds Blackout

It’s a big week for the evicted Houseguests so far on Big Brother season 19 and most of the players have no idea of the Battle Back twist that’s about to send someone back in to the game. Or maybe not, depending on how the secretive twist to the twist works out.

Update: Feeds are now down. CBS turned them off about 11AM BBT this morning. Announcement says the Live Feeds will return around 9PM PT on Friday (12AM ET Sat).

BB19 Battle Back Blackout

What we know so far is that the first three evictees, Cameron, Jillian, Cody, and this week’s evictee, either Dominique or Jessica, will face off for a chance to get back in the Big Brother game. Last year that was a series of individual comps that forced a knock out of the loser each week and kept things as one on one duels. I wouldn’t be shocked to see the same approach this year, but we don’t know either way.

Julie Chen did reveal a twist tease though, saying “the Houseguests will get the chance to stop their return to the game.” If she had said “a Houseguest” then I’d think it could be tied to this week’s Den of Temptation winner (I’m expecting Alex), but she said “the Houseguests” so maybe it’s a group decision? Maybe it works like that first $25K temptation. Dunno!

Whatever happens will be revealed to us this Friday night, July 21st during a special episode at 8/7c on CBS and streaming live online with CBS All Access. We’ll find out then who wins out in the Battle Back competitions for Big Brother 19 and hopefully whether or not that reentry gets blocked by the surviving HGs. Given how Paul’s entry was inevitable, I don’t see a blocked return as being too likely.

Okay, so here’s the bad news. Just like last year, I was expecting the Feeds to go down to hide the results from us until Friday’s show. Yep, sure enough that’s what they’re doing. CBS has confirmed the Feeds will be down from midday Thursday until around 9PM PT on Friday (12AM ET Saturday) which coincides with the end of the west coast broadcast of the Battle Back episode.

In the meantime we can start looking ahead to Friday night’s special episode at 8/7c. Who do you want to see win his or her way back in to the game? Cameron, Jillian, Cody, or this week’s evicted Houseguest? Share your vote below!

  1. Are you sure Matt ? I’ll try to rewatch last Thursday broadcast tonight, but I’m pretty Julie said “one Houseguest”.

    • No I’m pretty sure he’s right. I rewatched for that very reason and its not clear but it did sound to me like she said HGs

    • I reran the episode and that statement is correct. I typed what Chen said verbatim in an earlier post somewhere. It’s buried. :o)

    • I listen/watched it several times because I still had it recorded and she definitely said “A Big brother first…… houseguests…….

    • She said the Houseguest but it sounded to me like it was a individual temptation they could each do. I.E. you can battle to go back in or take this 50k right now and walk away from game type temptation.

Or maybe don’t go in but give some one in house safety for next 2 weeks, we shall wait and see!

  2. Well ok then! Cody is the favorite to come back. Hey, somebody has to take on the furry freakbag, right? Why should he be the only wack job bouncing around popping off? Let’s get more ‘roid rage back into the game and watch the fun!

    • Here’s a thought: Cody returns. He still has no regard for Paul…but realizes that the two of them could accomplish more by working together, maybe secretly, so the two of them strategically wipe out everyone else and battle it out to the end. I know it probably sounds highly unlikely, but a lot has happened on the show thus far that would have seemed highly unlikely. (Note: This is my first time watching the show regularly, so I don’t know how the house guests work their way down to a winner.)

      • Absolutely. That thought has crossed my mind. Anything is possible and it would be the smart thing to do really. Depends if they can stop throwing tantrums long enough to figure out WTF $500K means! :oD

The main premise of the series is to keep the cast on shaky ground 24/7. It’s very hard to determine a “best way” to play this game but there are numerous overall strategies and theories for a HG to remain in the game as long as possible. Being good at deception and faking out the other HGs is of great advantage. The skills of a good con artist and sociopath are valuable.

      • Cody is such a jerk. Paul is a much better player than Cody will ever be. I just hope that somehow cody gets voted out again.

  3. So they tape the battle back after the live eviction right? With the returning Houseguest returning late that evening?

The feeds going down for a full day really sucks though. Why not do a two hour live special on thursday featering both the eviction and the battle back! What are we supposed to do friday all day ha ha?

  4. I hope it’s not boring Jillian. Omg at all cost BB, this is the one you have to intervene.

  5. This is the reason I don’t like spending money on the live feeds, they can just cut them off for any reason and we end up paying for the right to watch “other CBS programming”. we should get a refund for every second we cannot watch the feeds

  6. As a nice gift to me today for my birthday, please let it be Cameron that gets to come back in!!!

  7. I’m really hoping for Cameron. I don’t even remember Jilian, and Cody said he wouldn’t change his game style. So more isolation look at me I’m the alpha attitude, no thanks. We get enough drama without him, so I hope someone new comes into the mix.
I would feel bad for him having to play catch up, but I think he can do it!

  8. Two evictees return … Cameron & Cody plus Flash Forward on Sunday and DE next Thursday! How you like dem apples?

  9. Given a choice between Cody, Jillian, and Cameron, I want to see Cody win the Battle Back because I think that would lead to the most interesting times in the house. What would be nice, though, is if Cody changed his manner. At one point while wearing the toad costumes, when he discovered Jessica mourning the miserable state that the two of them were in, he openly lamented his decisions, which he labeled as “selfish” and detrimentally impacted Jessica. (What I did not hear him do at that time is apologize to her, and that was disappointing. She stuck by him throughout everything, when it would have been to her advantage to dump him as soon as she saw everyone else in their alliance abandoning him. That says a lot about Jessica’s character.) After being evicted, though, Cody told Julie Chen during the exit interview that he had no regrets and would do nothing differently. If he repeats his previous habits, he probably will gain no new support and just get evicted again.

For this week, I prefer to see Dominique evicted. If that happens, Jessica stays, and there will be no need for Jessica and Cody to compete in the Battle Back.

  10. I know this has nothing to do with the subject , lol …but I’ve always wondered , why is alcohol so limited to the HGs ?

    • Look at all the stupid stuff they do when they’re sober? Alcohol will make that a lot worse. Seems like HGs got more in the past though.

    • Because these houseguests are already acting like idiots. No need to grease the wheels any further.

    • Thanks for the replies , guys . Now I have another question : have they ALWAYS limited alcohol ? I mean, in past seasons ? I’d never really thought about it till this season . Wouldn’t alcohol = even more drama ? Or , like y’all said , these cats are dramatic enough without it , lol .

      • I think I heard Paul telling Jason they’re not giving them any alcohol this season, because it increases the changes of someone getting injured … and they’ve had too many injuries already.

      • They gave them more alcohol in the first 10 seasons or so, then totally slowed it down. Maybe something happened that we don’t know about.

  11. When Cameron was initially evicted, I thought if there was something like BOTB then I definitely wanted him to come back, simply because I feel bad for him. But now things have changed and I want Cody back. (Plus I am sure Cameron will be back next season! BB/CBS better be ‘kind’ & make it happen) I wouldn’t be completely disappointed if he (Cameron come back,) however, for entertainment purposes I would much prefer Cody’s return. Plus…
I would really like to see Cody ‘redeem himself’ (for lack of better words.)
I believe Cody is a good person, & if he stayed longer Cody (& his alliance) would still be going strong, (that would be LESS entertaining b/c the HGs in his alliance would just be picking off the other side one by one like most of the recent seasons)
NOW Cody would provided a lot of entertainment, especially fighting with Josh! (Perfect I cannot stand Josh!) & Cody will STLL NOT kiss Paul’s a$$ (I just don’t see it happening! No alliances there!) so it would be nice to see Paul squirm & scramble not sitting so pretty in the house anymore with Cody back!
Yes Cody made a huge huge mistake by putting up Christmas. (One that I still do not understand) aside from Cody being in complete shock after being blindsided & not being able to nominate Paul so b/c he saw Christmas & Cody were super close, he took a huge gamble (hoping his alliance would understand) but clearly, not so much too much too soon! Cody was playing hard the second he walked in the game, he needed to take a few steps back but he didn’t & he “went home”
Now look at the house, pretty much every single HG Paul has in his back pocket!
So, looking back it was not a stupid move for Cody to try & backdoor Paul! It was again just too much, too soon!
So I’m looking forward to hopefully Cody’s return because I think Cody got screwed! And because I think Cody will not be afraid to continue making big moves thus providing a lot more entertainment for us :-)

    • Seriously, I really do try and make my comments much more shorter! Stupid talk to type LOL but honestly, I don’t know how you all managed to do it! I have to express my feelings and share every last thought I have LOL
Using talk to type I just talk to you like I am having a conversation with you LMAO 😂
I need to make my comments shorter, I’m sure most of you just scroll on by every time you see my posts LOL I don’t blame you! I don’t read long posts either LMAO 😝

      • You’re right…scroll past most of it. No one needs to know your every thought. Talk to text, then EDIT!

      • Says you! Some people do enjoy my am less talking and all my thoughts!
Scroll on past! It makes no difference to me :-) have a great evening! 😘

      • Don’t worry about it. Ignore any crybabies who object.and have to make some stupid comment about it.

      • I don’t care if you write a ‘thesis, but no need to apologize if you keep doing it.

      • Does that mean you read them? 🙃
So don’t apologize because I’m clearly not sorry because I keep writing them long? Are you being mean? 😭

      • Waaaahahaha! Looks like the crybaby deleted their post! Too funny. I dunno if you saw it.

      • You didn’t see it? it was right under mine and why I posted what I did. Don’t recall the name, but it was some crybaby telling to you keep all your opinions to yourself. I keep civil in this forum. I’d just as soon had told them to fk off. :oD

      • Someone said that to me?? Well that’s not very nice. I, on this forum to have fun, share my thoughts and opinions & always keep it civil. That wasn’t very nice of whoever did that. Maybe it’s in my notifications!

      • So just so I have this straight, someone insulted me for whatever reason but then deleted it?

      • I dunno if I’d call it a personal insult so much. They just said you didn’t need to post all your personal thoughts on things. Just somebody frustrated with nothing else to do. Maybe the moderator deleted it? Somebody seems to have deleted one of my comments right in this spot and it wasn’t me, but the disgus system can spit and belch also. I have great fun somewhere else on the net trolling like a SOB! :oD People are so bent out of shape about politics here in the states it’s funny as hell. I make a huge parody of it all and it REALLY pisses people off! :oD OMG, they hurl infantile insults at me to beat the band! None of it amounts to jack squat.

      • Yeah I know this from time to time my post will be deleted. Example is this morning I posted a post abou yeah I know this from time to time my post will be deleted. Example is this morning I posted to this person talking crap about me. It was civil, no swearing, just pretty much said I don’t entertain trolls but now I don’t see that post. The only thing I can see is a comment from yesterday early evening my time. There’s nothing that follows!? Strange.
Perhaps people are taking a day off because there are no live feeds!?
And I think I saw the comment that you were talking about. Deb from SF said something along the lines of my posts being too long & for me to stop sharing my every thought. I just told her to scroll on by!

  12. Cody’s game backfired for numerous reasons…..
Lots due to (in my opinion) reasons beyond his control! NOT just b/c he didn’t tell his alliance his plans (if Cody was able to re-NOM Paul, that would have been a great game move for his entire alliance!) getting rid of the strongest player would have been a fantastic move werk 2. Look at Paul running the house now!! Cody saw that coming the second he saw Paul walk through the doors! So he took an early shot but because of stupid twist & turns/temptations Cody got “screwed!” & ultimately Paul got 2 rewards (3 weeks safety plus getting to find out who to trust/not having to tell anyone about his safety) & 2 people received a punishment. (Ramses but also Cody b/c he didn’t know Paul had safety and therefore it’s screwed up his entire plan/game!)

Cody had zero intentions of turning his back on his alliance! & Paul probably would have went home! So win for Cody and his alliance & they would have gotten over it/understood.
His alliance only turned on him because of Paul’s safety! And that my friends is a fact! (I think LOL)

Cody just sealed his fate within his alliance by nominating Christmas! Stupid move but understandable move after being blindsided/ stunned/shocked 😳 with Paul’s safety. Cody just moved onto Christmas who (at the time) Cody felt as though she & Paul’s were ride or die together!
It makes perfect sense to me! Always did! But his alliance didn’t see it through Cody’s eyes and felt betrayed! Understandable but, even more so now seeing Paul truly take over the house ‘as easy as he has’ just goes to show you that Cody was right & was smart to attempt to get rid of the biggest threat! Regardless if it was too early! Cody clearly didn’t see Paul having safety so he thought his alliance would understand! I totally get it!
Cody saw it coming the second Paul walked in the door, it’s clear why Cody didn’t even try and get a “friendship bracelet” from Paul! 😆 he didn’t want to be “fake” plus he knew exactly who his target was!
I don’t think I have heard/read of any HGs planning on targeting Paul, at least not any HG’s that have numbers behind them.
After the initial shock of Cody replacing Paul with Christmas has worn off, and seeing the house listening to Paul’s every word, I think had Cody been able to back door Paul, it would have been one of the biggest and greatest game moves in big brother history!

    • I even deleted a bunch of stuff! I’m also trying to break this down in several pieces! There still crazy 😜 novels LOL

    • Cody was screwed in his HoH week by production because of ratings.

Let face it. Anyone here believe nobody would take the $25K ? Of course not. They knew someone would take it and they could bring Paul in. Then he has to give friendship bracelet. Obviously so he can make friends and increase his chance of building a alliance. Then they give him 3 weeks of safety.

Production knew they could increase their chance of good ratings for the 1st 4 weeks, while giving a chance to the audience to get to know the others players. Week 5, if Paul get evicted, so be it. Viewers had a chance to know the players, pick their favorites and all is well the world of Big Brother. By now, people are hook and they will keep watching because there’s a good crew this year.

  13. Lots of people online are complaining/disappointed 😔 with Alex for NOT making a bigger move this week! It is………
ONLY Week 3, still too early when there are “not enough numbers” behind her to make that “big of a move” everyone wanted/expected of her! (Including myself)
However Cody makes a big move week 2 & he is still criticized for making that move too soon!?
I mean yeah I do think it was too soon (Cody’s alliance needed to build more trust with him before he made that big backfiring move) but that’s because ‘we all knew’ of Paul’s safety……..
Plus b/c Paul had the “safety! & didn’t have to tell anyone!
If Paul was not safe, it would have been one of the “Best early moves” in Big Brother history!
    Yes? No?
& after thinking about it for a while, I understand more now why Cody put up Christmas. Paul was his target but, because he couldn’t nominate Paul he went after ‘what he thought’ was Paul’s right hand person!
Cody didn’t/Wasn’t about to sugarcoat or fake anything! Cody was HOH and he wanted Paul gone! As soon as Paul entered the house, Cody wanted him gone so, again Cody used his own HOH to try and make a Big move!
    I say good for him!
I truly hope he gets a second shot because his HOH was BS for many reasons! I won’t get into those because my comments are already wayyyyy to long 😜 but we all know what they were! Including having to nominate 1/3 of the house!! Plus the stupid twist/temptations that make the game completely unorganic!
    Yes? No?
It would have been one of the biggest/if not ‘THE’ biggest moves in BB history!
A HUGE move — Week 2 getting out the biggest threat!!!! A Vet, The only vet! !!!
    Nuff Said……

      • I think my comment was worded wrong. I agree that she did the right thing. She didn’t have the numbers to back her, and she still broke up that big alliance so, Her HOH was not a waste. I think I need to go back and reread what I typed, I’m thinking it didn’t make sense LOL because I agree, she did the best she could do with her HOH

    • Alex is making the right moves. Early in the game, yep. Shuffle some wall fixtures out the door that most HGs won’t object to. Cody just got the squeeze on him. Tossing the wacky furbrain out was an excellent move, it just didn’t pan out. Cody looks like an excellent villain type to get back in there. I think he would do well to try and team up with the furbrain, but we’ll see, huh?

    • Why she has zero safety after this week making a big move would put a even bigger target on her. A member on the other side is leaving this week.

      • I agree with you. Did I not see that in my last message? Perhaps you misunderstood me? That’s exactly what I said I thought?

      • Oh wasn’t arguing with you…
Just responded to the people questioning Alex move this week.
Sorry should of clarified my reply better.

  14. Julie 💯% said “houseguests…… A big brother first!”

But, it could have been just a “slip of the tongue”……& we are all reading into it more than we should be…….LOL 😆🙃😳😜🙄

    • Assuming she get the DoT, there will be a curse but she won’t know what the curse is.

  15. Why are the powers-to-be having Battle of the Block now in week 3 and when it was in week 10 for Big brother 18? I bet that Cody will win because I think the show is rigged. Just my opinion.

    • I don’t think it was week 10 that’s too far out, it is usually after the first 4 or 5 houseguests are evicted.

      • Look it up on Wikipedia like I did. Victor Arroyo beat Tiffany Rousso on July 22, 2016.

    • Cameron and Jillian have been sequestered since they were evicted. This twist was going to happen whether or not Cody was evicted.

  16. Cody got the boot because he was stubborn and foolish, likewise Dominique. They are both right about Paul, but you have to strike at the right moment, the right way at that moment. Paul is playing the ends against the middle, sooner than later the ends will be aligned against him.
Cody shook everybody up and there’s no guarantee his whole unit was gonna get behind him, without having time to consider. Alex was smart enough to let the game breathe, hit some low hanging fruit that still serves her purpose of evening the numbers, and set up the position. She’s one of the smarter people in the house, I doubt she was fooled by Paul’s semantics, she just didn’t see a point in exposing him or addressing his duplicity at that moment. Let the puppet master get tangled in his own strings……..

    • My hope is that maybe Cody has thought carefully over this past week about (1) the hubris he displayed and how to do better if he is brought back and (2) how good Jessica was as a voice of reason to him. Being a great leader does not have to mean that you always have to come up with all the best answers on your own. Sometimes one needs to listen to others around him/her who are trusted, loyal, and smart. Jessica is all three.

  17. She said “the House guests will get the chance to stop their return to the game.” What if the battle back competition involved all the house guests? Like the reward Veto competitions where the first out chooses a reward and the next one out chooses to keep their reward or take the other persons. One of the rewards is re-entry into the house. So the house guests will get a chance to stop the return by playing against them and stealing that reward. If the last house guest standing was an evictee, they would obviously steal the re-enter the game reward. But what if the last one standing was still in the house? Do they choose to steal the re-enter reward and keep the player out, or do they succumb to temptation and steal one of the other prizes (money, trip, safety, etc) with the consequence of someone coming back into the game. That could be fun.

    • I was thinking along the same lines as far as all the HG’s battling against one another. I didn’t think of a reward type battle though. Interesting thought…

    • It appears the mystery has done what they wanted. Lots of fans are itching to see the details. Could be lots of stuff, no telling. I’m curious also. Chen also said the action to block the reentry was a BB first, whatever that may mean.

  18. I mean I believe in God but to bring it in the BB game is the dumbest way to play the game I’ve ever seen!!

  19. Cameron should get a proper week in the Big Brother house, I think it’s silly how quickly he went out–because of Paul too, just to rub it in more on us.

That said, Cody going back would make for some epic television, combined with Jessica’s Eviction Halt Hex, they’d be the strongest duo in the house for some time.

  20. Is it the whole house that gets to stop the returnee? There is no way they will let Cody back.

  21. I am not a huge fan of Cody but I hope he gets back in just for the drama it will bring to the show, him back plus Jessica’s temptation will make for an interesting 2 weeks.

  22. Would be more fair if it’s Cameron, but, better drama if it’s Cody.

  23. We know Cody’s coming back bc BB need the show with more attention, drama etc…..👀 hmmm 🤣
