I caught up with Lawon today and he dishes about the choices he made in the house.
Chloe: How surprised are you to be voted out of the game?
Lawon: After analyzing what the chance may have been at the last minute, I am more shocked than surprised because I felt that showed me who was my true alliance and who was not. It made me wish I had followed my gut instinct more throughout the game.
Chloe: What made you so certain you were getting a special power if you came back in the house?
Lawon: I thought I would be coming back into the game with some kind of power due to this being a game where you “expect the unexpected.” I overanalyzed it a bit and I did not expect the outcome that happened. The “chance” of coming back didn’t sink in until I was out there competing in a competition. Do I regret that, yes of course, I was overanalyzing what the chance was to come back. If I didn’t overanalyze, I would have fought and never told Kalia she could put me up as a pawn. And you have to remember, when you are in that house, emotions are so high and so up and down that your thinking process is all over the place. You overanalyze every sentence every word fragment that everyone says and every idea that is given to you in the house. So I really just blame myself for overanalyzing what the outcome would be if I got evicted and had the chance to come back.
Chloe: Do you think you went overboard in your acting job of being pissed Kalia put you on the block?
Lawon: Yes I do. I think I acted too much, my emotions played a big part of that and I didn’t follow my gut in terms of how to handle the situation.
There’s a new/old sheriff in town after last night’s whirlwind eviction, twist battle, and HoH competition. Considering the odds were stacked 6:2 I’m a little shocked by how poorly the Vets alliance performed by allowing their outnumbered challengers to take control for the third week in a row. So after all that voting by America we’re nearly right back where we started 2 weeks ago. Well, except now the Veterans could end up controlling the final vote, but I think there’s one HG who would rather ignore that.
It was an insane night tonight on Big Brother 13 and we’ve got more Big Brother spoilers after a late night Head of Household competition.
After tonight’s eviction of Lawon, where even Daniele voted against him, he faced off against Brendon, the winner of America’s Vote, in a competition where he was thoroughly beaten. Did you expect that comp to go any differently?
The house quickly found its bearings which means the Vets plus Shelly and Adam hugging it out while Daniele and Kalia pissed themselves. Porsche? She stared at a wall for awhile and then got some food. Once that was all settled Kalia was called to the Diary Room and returned with a question: “Who wants to do the HoH competition?!”
Thursday night’s Big Brother was the equivalent of being in a hospice. You know what the end result is going to be, and you know that it’s going to be bad – but you still just sit there and wait out the inevitable. Julie Chen kicks things off as usual (rocking a sweet 90’s-era pants suit) with a recap of this week’s events. It’s not often that the Chenbot shows actual human emotion, but even she doesn’t waste any time pointing out how stupid Lawon is and laughing at him.
Back in the house, we see the aftermath of the veto nomination ceremony. Lawon couldn’t be more proud of himself (or more delusional, for that matter):
LAWON: If I do get voted out of the house, I have a 99% chance of coming back into the game with super powers.
Close. You actually have a 100% chance of not coming back into the game. And you best hope that whatever super power you receive gives you the ability to deflect a lifetime of personal ridicule. It’s only once every 10 seasons that a homosexual African American makes the type of colossal game blunder that you have, so you have quite a ride in store for you!
LAWON: So take note, America – Lawon made the boldest move that anyone could do in the Big Brother house.
Yet another statement that is completely correct, but for all the wrong reasons. It would be a “bold move” for me to put my hand down a garbage disposal and turn it on, but that doesn’t mean I should go brag about it to all of America. Lawon is so bad of a player that it’s actually awkward and uncomfortable to watch. Kalia tries to justify keeping Rachel in the house because she, too, drank the “whoever is evicted is definitely coming back” Kool-Aid. Even Jeff (hardly the poster boy for intellect) picks up on the fact that Kalia is a total strategic failure and calls her out for being stupid. When Jeff is making personal attacks at your mental capacity, you know it’s looking bleak.
After a relatively quiet day in the Big Brother house, things became much more interesting during the live show as we watched Lawon get evicted, per his request, which has to go down as the most idiotic move in the game’s history! Not only did we see Dani vote out one of her own alliance members but then we get to watch in horrified fascination as Brendon wins his way back in the game. Brenchel show take two coming right up! But wait! Who won the HoH?
