Celebrity Big Brother 3: Season Premiere Recap

Celebrity Big Brother on CBS

Tonight on CBS Celebrity Big Brother returns for its third season starting at 8PM ET and we’re here with our live recap of the first of fifteen episodes and eleven Houseguests to go before we crown a winner on February 22nd. With a prize of $250,000 on the line, I think there should be some pretty serious competition this time around. Fingers crossed!

Tonight’s Big Brother season debut will start out with host Julie Chen introducing us to the newly redesigned Big Brother house and the CBB3 Houseguests as they arrive on stage to head inside and get the game going. You’ll know some of these celebs and some you might not, but they’re here to keep us entertained and it’ll be a fun, quick season of our favorite show.

Since we were waiting to find out, Carson Kressley was the first HG through the door. Of course that curse has been broken, but it’s still fun to watch and see who holds the honor. Now the rest of the HGs are rolling in one at a time. No pre-house stage groups due to COVID. Straight in they go, one at a time. And now they’re all there so it’s time to toast with champagne. Time to get this game on!

Julie gathers the HGs in the living room and lets them know the basic rules: HOH is safe (there are surprised faces), sets two nominations, Veto can spare the nom, and there will be TWO evictions per week. Now it’s time for the HGs to head to the backyard for the first HOH of the season.

CBB3 Round 1 HOH:

HGs will be hoisted up in the ropes like the old Poison Ivy comp we’ve seen before. HGs are all dressed up in fancyish outfits as they’re hanging on to bottles of champagne and trying to keep their balance on small stirrups.

Before we even get started Julie asks for one volunteer to sit out and MC. No safety or anything, just out first basically. Todd volunteers. Now the comp is on. Kattan is down after about 90 seconds but it doesn’t take long for more to follow.

It comes down to Miesha, Todrick, and Teddi. Todrick asks for a deal with Miesha and she agrees so he drops. Teddi tries for the same but Miesha isn’t so generous this time around and soon Teddi is down. Miesha Tate is the first HOH of CBB3! The spoilers were accurate.

As the HGs head back inside Julie announces to them that there is a twist. One that will reward a HG and punish another. It’s in The Box. The “Gala Gift” box. No, we don’t get to find out tonight what’s in there. It’s a cliffhanger for Thursday’s 9/8c episode. Then on Friday night (8/7c) there is the first eviction of the season.

Following tonight’s premiere the Live Feeds are expected to kick in around 9PM ET. From there we’ll be off on a mad dash over the next few weeks with a jam-packed schedule of episodes and spoilers all season.

Update: No Feeds tonight! Terrible news. CBS just updated the Feeds stream to say the Feeds have been delayed until Friday. FRIDAY! Two days of no Feeds. After days of promising them at 9PM on premiere night we had a rug-pull on us. That’s terrible. That’s disappointing. That’s terribly disappointing and so very CBS.

Next episode is Thursday at 9/8c then Friday at 8/7c for the first eviction of the season. We’ll be waiting for updates on what is going on with the sudden, last-minute Feeds delay. No word yet but we’ll let you know.
