Wednesday night’s Big Brother 26 might have been the Power of Veto episode, but this one was all about Angela and Matt’s feud and the new nickname she gave him.
Right after the nomination ceremony Angela lets us know that Kenny is her target, but she hasn’t forgotten about Matt. She says she still doesn’t feel good about his threat, so he better be on his best behavior. What threat you ask? Oh, that’ll be explained a little later in this recap. Meanwhile, Kimo is heartbroken to be the first nominee. He says this makes him feel like the outsider he always felt like growing up. And while Kimo is sad, Kenny is vengeful and Lisa is scorned. And Angela knows she just made three new enemies.
But Angela is more focused on her first enemy, Matt, or as she likes to call him, “Crazy Eyes.” After the nomination ceremony she is not happy that Matt didn’t thank her for not nominating him. She says he didn’t hug her or even make eye contact with her. So the Angela-Matt feud grows stronger.
Meanwhile … Makensy lets Matt and Leah know that she has the America’s Veto power. So Matt isn’t too worried about what Angela thinks of him this week, because Makensy is his closest ally and BB would like us to think a budding showmance is afoot. So Matt thinks if Angela decides to come for him later this week, his girl will help him out with her power.
Then an alliance forms. It’s called The Collective. But like most Big Brother seasons, alliances don’t really mean anything so I’m not wasting my time telling you that much about it. I will say that it includes Joseph and Quinn and even though Angela wasn’t around, the genuinely wanted to add her to it. But again, this alliance probably isn’t real anyway.
But Angela thinks every alliance, even ones that don’t exist are really real. And while watching the HOH spy cam, she sees everyone talking and thinks everyone must be conspiring against her with ole “Crazy Eyes.”
And after a restless night, Angela wakes up, heads downstairs and goes absolutely bonkers on Matt. And she also thinks that Quinn and Joseph were lying to her about that alliance that formed earlier and that they wanted her to be a part of it. But her focus is Matt. She openly calls him Crazy Eyes and then goes on to tell everyone that Matt came to her HOH room and he verbally and aggressively threatened her. Then she tells Makensy that she coiuld do so much better than Matt.
And with all that, it’s time to pick players for the veto competition. And Matt is really hoping he gets chosen to play. But joining Angela, Kenny, Lisa and Kimo are Joseph and Brooklyn via Lisa’s houseguest choice. Matt really wanted her to pick him but she let us know that would be a really dumb idea for her. So she chose Brooklyn.
Matt then has a delayed reaction to Angela’s outburst against him. He’s crying in the bathroom and has a handful of houseguests comforting him. This is interesting because he seemed fine when he still had a chance to be chosen to play in the veto competition.
Then it’s time for the veto competition. And it’s the good old-school spelling competition. All they have to do is crawl through muck and find letters that will let them spell the longest word. You know how it works.
Angela and Joseph flop and don’t score. Kenny spells a 7-letter word . Lisa spells a 9-letter word. Kimo also flops. And finally, Brooklyn spells a 6-letter word. Lisa wins the Power of Veto!
After the veto competition, Makensy wonders if she should use her America’s Veto power if Matt ends up on the block. So will she use it?
At the veto meeting Lisa of course uses the veto on herself and of course Angela names Matt as the replacement. No surprises there. What is surprising, though, is that Makesny decided not to use her power. She lets us know that even though Matt is her closets ally, that power is hers and she will keep that to save herself.
So Matt, Kenny and Kimo will be sitting on the block Thursday night before one of them wins the AI Arena competition and comes off the block, leaving the two final nominees.
