Big Brother 26 Episode 20 Recap: Punishments, Prizes and Paranoia

This week the Big Brother 26 houseguests landed some prizes and punishments, but it was that other popular P-word that prevailed. I’m of course talking about paranoia.

Not only did the AI Instigator pepper some paranoia here and there, but Angela let her mind wander and convinced herself that Tucker has just pulling her leg all along. But before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s back it up.

The episode picks up right after the nomination ceremony. T’Kor lets us know that she doesn’t care if Makensy or Cam go home. She says Tucker is just a pawn. And Tucker did tell her he could go up. He said he didn’t want to do it, but he offered himself to others so he felt like he should offer himself to her.

But Tucker isn’t rally thrilled because T’Kor had other options, so he’s not sure why she chose him. And she says in the Diary Room that she would like him to not use the veto if he wins it. He lets us know that he would definitely use it on himself.

It’s time to pick players for the veto competition Joining T’Kor, Makensy, Cam and Tucker are Joseph via Cam’s houseguest choice and Angela. And then we head right to the veto competition.

For this competition, the houseguests have to slingshot a robot army. Each robot has a point value. The player with the lowest score each round is eliminated. And as the players are eliminated, they get to pick a prize or punishment. And we know how this works, if you are eliminated second or later, you get to pick a new prize or steal an existing one.

Here are the veto competition results:

Round 1

  • T’Kor – 38 points
  • Makensy – 39 points
  • Joseph – 0
  • Angela – 18
  • Tucker – 13
  • Cam – 33

Joseph is eliminated. And he picks the Power of Veto.

Round 2

  • T’Kor – 7
  • Makensy – 44
  • Angela – 0
  • Tucker – 22
  • Cam – 3

Angela is eliminated. She picks a solitary confinement punishment, so she trades it with Joseph.

Round 3

  • Tucker – 43
  • Cam -47
  • T’Kor – 24
  • Makensy – 0

Makensy is out. She picks a trip to Hawaii and keeps it.

Round 4

  • Cam- 0
  • T’Kor – 0
  • Tucker – 11

T’Kor and Cam have to have a shoot off. Cam wins the shoot off. T’Kor is eliminated and she picks a punishment that would require her to clean the yard for 12 hours. She trades Angela for the veto.

  • Round 5
  • Tucker – 0
  • Cam – 12

Cam wins the competition. Tucker picks $5,000. He trades it to T’Kor because he knows Cam will take the veto anyway. He wants her to have the money and not end up with the punishment.

Cam gets the last punishment. This punishment is AI Assist and has to answer questions – day or night – when called on. Cam trades Tucker for the veto. So Cam has won the Power of Veto.

T’Kor isn’t thrilled she’s going to have to name a replacement nominee. And since she is in an alliance or working with everyone but Leah, that means she would be her only option. But Quinn isn’t a fan of that plan.

AI Instigator Alert! It’s Rubina this time. Then Angela shows up. And Tucker is just having them say nonsense about twerking … The houseguests really don’t know what to make of it and just assume it’s Angela sending these messages.

It’s time for Angela’s punishment. She has to clean up toxic waste in the back yard. OK, it’s not really toxic waste. It’s really just little green balls, but she has to use a hand grabber thing to pick each one up individually. And there are A LOT of them. And every so often, she has to going a “decontamination” chamber and get doused with slime and then rinsed with water.

As for Joseph’s punishment, he has to be locked away in the Have-Not room with AI Matt who talks non-stop on a continuous, annoying loop.

AI Instigator Alert! This time it’s AI Tucker and he calls out Chelsie, Quinn and T’Kor. And Angela’s reaction makes everyone really think it’s her this time. And Tucker tells Angela that people think it’s her. She says that is stupid and that she would be saying better things. He also tells her that he trusts her and is there for her despite what he and Rubina has. But she decides that he is lying to her. So she starts to spiral and tells us “I have to do something unthinkable. I’m going to rally to get Tucker out.”

Angela goes to Makensy, Quinn and Leah and says she wants Tucker out. She says they have to get him out this week. Quinn promises to Angela that this information won’t leave the room and he immediately runs up to tell T’Kor and Kimo the news. Right when T’Kor was trying to figure out who to put on the block. He really wants Leah off the block, so this is his way to get Angela up instead.

T’Kor tells Quinn he should tell Tucker. And so Quinn lets him know what Angela said. And Tucker feels betrayed. So he has to go confront Angela. And that goes about as you’d expect.

Despite what happened, Tucker still tries to keep Angela off the block. He tells T’Kor he would love to see Leah up instead of Angela. But T’Kor is still unsure what to do.

So let’s get to the veto ceremony and find out.

Cam of course uses the veto on himself. And T’Kor names Angela as the replacement nominee. Tucker isn’t happy. He thought the one thing T’Kor could have done this week for him was put Leah on the block.
