It was Veto Day again for the Big Brother 23 Houseguests and Derek X’s game hung in the balance as we waited on the Veto players pick and then the results of the competition. It was a busy battle with lots of punishments that could linger for a few weeks ahead. Read on to find out what the comp and day means for the HOH and her target in Week 7.

Big Brother 23 Live Feed Highlights – Saturday, August 21, 2021:
7:15 AM BBT – HGs get an early wake up call.
9:00 AM BBT – Feeds cut for the Veto pick.
9:15 AM BBT – Feeds are back. Alyssa, Azah, and DF were selected. DX is SOL.
9:20 AM BBT – Sarah discussing with Alyssa if HGs would keep Xavier if Claire comes down. Alyssa is certain X would be okay.
9:25 AM BBT – DX talks with Claire about renom situations. He thinks it won’t be so bad if Sarah wins the Veto. Claire is sure the target is one of them.
9:40 AM BBT – Hannah tells DX she’s sorry the draw didn’t go better for him. DX says he isn’t worried if Claire comes down and he goes up against X. Hannah says she hopes noms stay the same. Hannah thinks Azah is their best chance of noms staying as they are.
10:50 AM BBT – Alyssa tells Hannah she really hopes to win Veto so she can save Xavier since it’s her fault he’s up there (via High Rollers twist).
11:05 AM BBT – DF asks and Sarah confirms she hopes that Xavier gets to come off the Block. She promises DF it won’t be Azah going up.
11:15 AM BBT – DF promises Sarah that he got 75 Bucks, not 100. She can’t figure out who get the 100 this week.
11:35 AM BBT – Xavier and Alyssa are reviewing everything from the season’s events. Alyssa knows the details well.
12:20 PM BBT – Tiffany worries to Claire that no one is telling her anything this week and she worries what that means. Claire expects DX to be a renom. Tiffany says that DX going this week isn’t best for their games. Tiffany really hopes Azah doesn’t win Veto.
1:25 PM BBT – Xavier and Tiffany discuss what Sarah might do. Tiffany wants to make sure Sarah isn’t F7 with them. Tiffany says if DX is up against Xavier then she will be exposed to Claire when she votes out DX over Xavier.
2:00 PM BBT – DX and Hannah are upstairs in the HOH room without Sarah. Hannah goes looking for Sarah’s letter to read the portion that Sarah wouldn’t read out loud. Hannah finds the letter and reads it. She says it doesn’t mention anything about Sarah being America’s Player (it wouldn’t even if she were…). Hannah apologizes to the Feeds for doing that.
2:05 PM BBT – DF tells Kyland that Sarah’s plan this week sounds a lot like Kyland came up with it.
2:40 PM BBT – Azah hopes it won’t be a studying comp because she hasn’t spent time on that but is trying now to remember events.
3:15 PM BBT – Feeds cut for the Veto.
8:55 PM BBT – Feeds are back. Xavier is wearing the medallion.
9:00 PM BBT – HGs discussing the competition and prizes/punishments. Xavier will have 24-hours isolation, become a third nominee next week, and lost all his BB Bucks.
9:10 PM BBT – Azah talking with DF and is upset that he took cash instead of fighting for the Veto because she could be in danger. He points out that he had no chance whatsoever of beating Xavier so he took something he could get.
9:50 PM BBT – Xavier talks with Azah who was upset that DF took the cash prize over safety because she feared he put her at risk. She’s feeling better now.
10:40 PM BBT – Sarah meets with Kyland and says that DX will be leaving this week. She’s confident they have at least four votes to put him out to Jury. Sarah wonders if DX will tell Alyssa about the Backdoor plan she (SB) was in on against Christian so DX can try to flip votes. They discuss ideas on how to combat things DX may share to save himself.
10:50 PM BBT – Sarah tells Kyland she’d like to work with Xavier and Alyssa.
10:50 PM BBT – Xavier camtalks that he wasn’t worried about losing his BB Bucks because he knew the Cookout had enough to keep him safe. He doesn’t think the 3rd nominee punishment would be any different than what he faced and survived this week.
11:05 PM BBT – Sarah hopes she can convince Claire this wasn’t the long plan this week but instead decided to try and save Claire in the process.
11:15 PM BBT – Kyland tells Sarah this may be the last “big shot” to take for awhile and then they should get out the stragglers. Sarah says Hannah should go soon.
11:35 PM BBT – DX goes to check in with Sarah and Kyland. DX asks if he’s getting BD’d. Kyland laughs and promises him he’s not. DX says he has been trying to rebuild their trust after he nominated her his HOH week.
11:40 PM BBT – DX admits he should have played for the Roulette twist. (yep)
11:50 PM BBT – DX pitches that he wouldn’t use the Coup D’Etat on Sarah or Kyland. He notes that DF will have a chance at it though. DX promises loyalty if she doesn’t put him up.
12:10 AM BBT – DX has continued working to save himself but Sarah isn’t giving any ground. He has realized he’s in a bad spot.
12:25 AM BBT – Kyland stayed to talk with Sarah after DX left. He questions if they have the votes to make it happen. She still wants to BD DX. Kyland agrees. Sarah wants Alyssa to know her plan the whole time was to get out DX.
12:40 AM BBT – Sarah thinks the two of them (with Kyland) will do well against either Alyssa or Xavier in the F3.
12:50 AM BBT – Sarah discusses maybe they should have a F2 but wants Kyland to tell her if he has another F2. He admits he has already made F2s. Sarah says they don’t have to hide their alliance anymore since it’s pretty obvious.
1:05 AM BBT – Tiffany and Hannah discuss how to handle the CO guys. Hannah wants DF out at F6 then let someone else take out Kyland so they can be F4 with Xavier and Azah. Hannah changes to her ideal F3 is the two of them and DF or Azah as the alternative. Tiffany says Xavier wants Kyland out at F6 and Hannah questions who then gets out X. Tiffany doesn’t know.
1:15 AM BBT – Sarah meets with Claire and says she’s thinking of options that could help Sarah like putting up DX.
1:20 AM BBT – Kyland advises DX on how to maneuver this situation and stay this week. Kyland tells DX he already told Sarah he wouldn’t vote against DX.
1:40 AM BBT – Claire and Sarah still talking. They’re discussing the Veto comp. It involved setting up the dominos to run through certain points (rewards or punishments).
1:40 AM BBT – Kyland tells DX that if Hannah goes up instead of him then she’ll probably go over Claire.
2:00 AM BBT – Sarah and Claire discussing old alliances and the early weeks of the game with Frenchie.
2:20 AM BBT – Kyland camtalks that he’s playing several parallel games including him + Sarah and him + DX. He goes back to talk with Sarah and she shares what Claire was telling her. Sarah mentions Claire suggested DX or Hannah as noms.
2:30 AM BBT – Sarah doesn’t think Xavier needed to win that Veto but Kyland explains that Xavier knew he’d be at risk if he stayed on the Block.
2:35 AM BBT – Kyland hopes Xavier wins the next HOH so his 3rd nominee punishment comes later when it’s easier to get him out.
2:55 AM BBT – Tiffany, DX, and Claire meet to go over ideas to keep him safe this week. Tiffany suggests warning Sarah there could be a Jury Battleback so she’d be hesitant to BD him. DX wonders if he could tell Sarah some of the things he knows that’s been going on but Tiffany warns him that if he gives out names then Sarah will fear he’ll name her later too. After DX leaves Claire and Tiffany discuss being sad that DX will go this week but they knew it was always coming.
3:10 AM BBT – Kyland relays to DX that Sarah told him that Claire told her that she (C) would suggest DX or Hannah as the renom for her to be up against.
3:40 AM BBT – Kyland is camtalking. He needs to figure out who in the Six he can trust the most. Kyland says the Six is not a group of individuals he would have wanted to play the game with. He would have rather played with Xavier, Alyssa, and Sarah plus DX as their fifth.
4:00 AM BBT – Lights out.
Saturday didn’t change anything for DX as he sits squarely in the danger zone with no options after skipping the Roulette safety chance and then missing an opportunity at the Veto comp. Then again, he would have just been right back in this spot next week. The Cookout is inevitable it seems!
