Big Brother 21 Episode 36 Recap: Jackson’s Plan Pays Off

Holly’s Big Brother 21 fate was all but sealed last week when Nicole decided the showmance had to be broken up. But after Jackson crafted some lies against Tommy that erupted at a house meeting plans began to change. And after Cliff made some more bad decisions, Jackson’s plan to keep Holly definitely paid off.

Of course Nicole didn’t fall for any of Jackson’s lies. But she finally just gave into Cliff because she trusts him far too much. We got to see how it all played out during Sunday night’s episode of Big Brother.

The episode picks up right after the HOH started. Jackson lets us know that he had to say and do things he’s not proud of and hopes his mom isn’t disappointed in him.

Nicole lets us know that she did not want to go to Final 4 with a showmance, but what Jackson told her and Cliff changed her mind. So we flash back to Nicole telling Tommy what Jackson said. Tommy, in tears, says he’s not lying and what Jackson said isn’t true. So that means it’s time for a house meeting.

Jackson starts with asking Tommy which side of the house he is on. He says Tommy and Christie have been playing both sides of the house. Tommy says that is not true. Jackson starts piling on lies to Tommy and not giving him any time to defend those lies. Jackson mixes in some truths, like Tommy lied 89 days in the house about not knowing Christie.

The shouting intensifies and Jackson continues lying loudly. Tommy gets louder as well, but Jackson isn’t letting him get anything in. Tommy basically ends the meeting by telling Jackson that he would never take him to Final 2 because he doesn’t think Jackson deserves the money.

Nicole tells Cliff that she sees through Jackson. She says that house meeting told her that Tommy was the one telling the truth. She says she knows Jackson is the one manipulating the situation. Nicole decides that she is back on the vote out Holly train. But of course Cliff doesn’t want to do that. He wants Tommy out to better his chances at getting to Final 2.

Jackson decides that his lies against Tommy didn’t work, so he decides to come up with some new lies. He tells Cliff that if Holly stays, he will pick Cliff and Nicole over Holly. But he tells us in the DR that he is lying through his teeth to them.

Cliff and Nicole tell Holly, one hour before eviction, that they are leaning toward keeping Tommy. Jackson gets really angry and Holly tells them that they are only there because of them. Nicole reminds them that she repaid them by not evicting them in the double eviction. Then Jackson gets heated and loud again and it goes on and on some more.

Nicole still wants to send Holly out, but Cliff nudges her toward evicting Tommy. Holly comes in and says she will throw the HOH and the veto if they keep her. Jackson comes in and does some more lying. He tells them that if he wins veto, he will evict Holly. Cliff believes it. Nicole clearly doesn’t but feels like she has to now because of Cliff.

Let’s cut back to the HOH competition. Jackson lets us know that regardless of how it sounds, he needs Holly to stick to the deal and throw the HOH competition because if she wins HOH and he doesn’t win veto, he’s in trouble. So now we know why he really wanted Holly to stay. He needed her as a shield.

Jackson is getting a little annoyed that Holly isn’t falling. Cliff falls first, so Holly decides to honor their deal and drop (mostly because Jackson keeps aggressively telling her to fall). Nicole is the new Head of Household. That also means she’s the first official member of the Final 3.

Cliff tells Jackson that he would take him to the Final 3 if he wins veto and then eludes that he would even take Jackson to Final 2 over Nicole. So they’re making yet another deal. But Jackson lets us know he won’t be honoring any deal with Cliff.

It’s time for the nomination ceremony, also known as the most pointless nominees every season since veto is all that matters. Nicole names Jackson and Holly as her nominees, obviously.
