Big Brother 21 Episode 18 Recap: Six Shooters Melt Down, The Power Shifts

We couldn’t have asked for a better start to this Big Brother 21 week. Not only have the Six Shooters fallen apart (in so far the only actual fight this season), but no one in that group was able to grab onto any power this week.

Sunday night’s Episode picks up as the houseguests are studying for the Head of Household competition. Kat is very happy that she’s still in the house after the vote almost flipped on her Thursday night. And Jack reminds us via his Diary Room that the Six Shooters got turned on its head before the live show. And so we get the flashback…

Cut to Thursday night: Jackson and Jack are talking about what’s been going on and Jackson mentions Holly and Kat knowing each other outside the house. Jack then tells Tommy that intel. Tommy then adds to it that maybe Jackson knows them too, so that makes a trio. And a trio in jury is bad news. Tommy says it’s time to flip the vote and get Kat out.

Christie joins Tommy and Jack and tell her that Holly, Kat and Jackson are a trio. Tommy and Jack say they keep Sam and pull him and Nick in so they have numbers against Jackson, Holly, Kat and the others. And they start spreading the vote flip idea. But Holly overhears it. So Jackson starts feeling out the situation.

Tommy lets Holly know that Jackson told Jack she and Kat know each other and that’s why people are flipping out. And then the Six Shooters are gather and all hell breaks loose. The fight is mostly Christie vs. Jackson, but it’s clear that the Six Shooters are now no more. And everyone else in the house heard everything. There was no privacy despite them meeting in the boat room.

The whole thing was pretty intense, and in the end, it seems that the Six Shooters are down to four with Jackson and Holly on the outs. It’s possible Holly is still welcome in the group, but I don’t see any way that Christie and Jackson will ever be able to work together gain. But how did Kat stay after this big mess? That just kind of happened without much fanfare.

Christie decides not to flip the vote, so everyone agrees that Kat will be staying. And as we saw, that’s what happened. Sam left the game. Something tells me Christie didn’t want to set any kind of precedent for getting rid of people who know others in the house. So let’s cut back to the Head of Household competition.

After studying they get asked T or F questions. In the first round, Jackson is the only one eliminated. In round two, Analyse and Cliff are out. Tommy and Nick are eliminated in round three. In round five, only Christie is eliminated. That leaves Jack, Nicole, Jessica and Kat. In round 6, only Jackson is out. In round 7, Nicole is out. It’s down to Jessica and Kat. In the final round, it’s Jessica who got it right and she is the new Head of Household!

So now that Jessica has the power what is she going to do? Cliff, Nicole and Kat are all feeling safe because their side of the house is in power, but what about the others? They know that they’re in trouble, obviously, but which two are going to find themselves on the block?

Jessica, Cliff, Nicole and Kat meet up and they agree that it’s about time the outsiders have a say in the game. For the entire time, they’ve all been kicked out of rooms and not been in on decisions, but not this week. Jessica gets really emotional how they have all been shutout and says she’s feeling empowered and doesn’t care what the others are thinking and she wants to see them scatter like cockroaches.

At the nomination ceremony, empowered Jessica goes all out and nominates Jack and Jackson for eviction.

What do you think of Jessica’s nominations? Did she make the right choice? Who would you like to see go home this week?
