What a strange day of campaigning in the Big Brother house after Vanessa continued her on again off again pursuit of flipping the vote to keep Johnny Mac and send Steve off to the Jury House.
John hasn’t given up on the vote and Vanessa has gone from collecting info to campaigning on his behalf, but then at times she seems to be doing exactly the opposite. Is it Thursday yet?
As we watched during the day it seemed more like Vanessa had resigned to letting John go but not before she drained him of all the info he had which John didn’t seem to mind giving freely. John kept advocating his benefits to her while pointing out the dangers she faced with the Austwins. Something in there was a turning point.
Flashback to 6:55 PM BBT 8/25 as John and Vanessa talk game. He’s suggesting his plan could still be to get the Goblins to flip and then she could be the 3rd and deciding vote. We know that Vanessa is highly unlikely to make that move without the Austwins’ blessing. Vanessa then suggests John should go talk with the twins first and then later the Goblins.
Something interesting from this talk was when Vanessa asked John about her chances of working with Becky if she came back. Vanessa wants to know if that could be salvaged. John says yes, it could absolutely be recovered. He suggests Becky would have other targets over her. So was Vanessa asking in case John went and Becky returned? I’m actually thinking she was considering if she kept John and Becky returned. Then she’d have a group of 3 to work with. Though I don’t think Becky would be too thrilled to work with Vanessa, but John said the right thing there.
So Vanessa tells John to talk with the twins, but before he can do that she goes in to have a chat with them. Flashback to 7:05 PM BBT. Vanessa is running through a lot of details here but the takeaway for the twins is that John is coming after them and they want him gone. They freak out.
It was at this point that I could no longer follow what Vanessa was trying to do. Seemed as though she was sabotaging John’s efforts after encouraging him to do something but before he could do it. Problem might have been Vanessa relied on the twins to make something happen.
The twins were soon upstairs freaking out about John and adamant, once again, that he had to go. Flashback to 7:34 PM BBT. Whatever Vanessa’s plan had been there it was resulting in solidifying the votes against John. Maybe her next move would work better.
Finding Austin alone in the bathroom Vanessa has a repeat of her failed chat with the twins. Flashback to 8:00 PM BBT. Vanessa tells Austin that John would be willing to throw the HoH competition for them and could be a pawn. Austin wonders if it’d be better to keep Steve who would fight to win the HoH and be in their pocket or to have one less competitor with John throwing it. Vanessa has Austin interested in considering keeping John.
Later John talks with the twins to make his pitch. Flashback to 11:20 PM BBT. John tells them that when things seemed to fall apart this week that he got paranoid about them but he could get over it and would totally work with them. No problems! promises John. He says he’d be willing to target the returning Juror or at least the Goblins and wouldn’t put them on the Block.
Back upstairs the twins talk it out with Austin but want Vanessa’s input on what to do. Vanessa advocates that John would be an easy win at the end while Steve would beat all four of them. Austin is again agreeing that keeping John would be better for them. One of the twins throws in there that John can make money, so they don’t want him there. Vanessa gives a quick side eye. Heh. The twins are going to have their minds blown when they find out about Vanessa’s millions.
Through this talk things are bouncing around but there’s an interesting discussion points on voting and controlling the outcome. There’s worry that what if they keep John and then he tries to BD one of their four. Vanessa says they’ll have the votes to keep a BD target from going and she’d be right, as long as someone doesn’t just put two of them up.
In this situation the Goblins would have two votes, the Austwins + Vanessa would have two votes, and the other HG could be the deciding factor. If only one of the Austwins go up then yes, they’d have 3 of the votes and send out the other nominee. Any HoH would have to see that now.
The other idea thrown around is to use Rock, Paper, Scissors to decide the eviction during the live show. I’m not kidding and they seem serious. The discussion is to make the noms skip their speeches and do a quick game or RPS with the winner staying. Austin thinks this is great because if either came back then all would share the blame. I don’t even know what to think of that and it seems very unlikely to happen.
So there was a lot of movement last night, but did we end up back where we started? Vanessa and John will both be working hard on Wednesday. The twins don’t seem thrilled about this idea, but they understand Vanessa is likely to get what she wants.
As for the Goblins, they seem interested in sending out Steve because they think he’s more likely to win HoH, but then they flip back to needing John out. They’re undecided as well and it could all come down to them. What a week.
