We’re now on Day 3 of Audrey Watch as the Big Brother 17 Houseguest continues to pull back from the game and rest of house keeping herself in seclusion ahead of Thursday’s eviction.
At this point the Big Brother house has moved on past Audrey Middleton and while the Houseguests have been checking on her well being periodically most of them are now over the situation.
Background info: If you’re just getting caught up on what’s going on. Here are the details you’ll need. On Sunday, Audrey began arguing with Clay, Shelli, and Vanessa. It soon became apparent that they were going to Backdoor her. She worked on a House Flip with James, but when that failed she went in to seclusion and spent roughly eight hours in the DR from Sunday to Monday. This even delayed the PoV meeting by about five hours. Okay, now for the latest.
Yesterday morning we saw James bring Audrey room service with an omelette and OJ, his good deed of the day, he said. This came shortly after Audrey had briefly left her station, Flashback to 10:08AM BBT, in the Have-Not room to get a fresh battery and spend a few minutes in the DR. Along the way Liz tried saying hello, but says she was ignored.
Things were quiet on the Audrey front for most of the rest of the day until the HoH camera arrived and Have-Nots decided it was time to turn the lights on and get some group pictures. Audrey wasn’t budging from under her blanket tent so they went on without her. Shelli even tried talking to her to get her out but she was ignored as well.
The Houseguests seem to have accepted that she won’t be active in the game anymore and is simply filling a seat, well when she shows up, until the round is over on Thursday. But just like us, they don’t have much information on the situation and are trying to guess at what’s happening.
Steve and Liz, Flashback to 2:05PM BBT, wonder if Audrey will be forced to move during lockdowns or Thursday’s house cleaning when they have to go up to the HoH room. Steve mentions that Audrey was not penalized for eating regular food and was given permission by Big Brother. Later Becky mentions Audrey had a 24-36 hour window of being allowed to eat regular food.
Flashback to 4:10PM BBT as Houseguests continued discussing Audrey’s behavior which prompted Jason to go check on her and see if he could bring her anything. Audrey wasn’t up in her Have-Not chair because she was sleeping on the floor. Of course that’s not an allowed thing for Have-Nots, but we’re clearly past that point. The rest of the Have-Nots are trying to rest in their dental chairs while she’s bundled up below them.
Jason returned to the kitchen where the talks resumed. Meg mentioned the line of questioning she received in the Diary Room regarding Audrey’s situation indicated to her that this was not a serious problem. Austin seconded that regarding what he had been asked. Typically we get Fish or HGs are reminded not to discuss their DR sessions, but that didn’t happen this time. Kinda makes me wonder if Big Brother was trying to indirectly let us know she was okay.
A few minutes later, Flashback to 4:19PM BBT, Audrey emerged from the HN room and went to the bathroom. Vanessa tried talking to her but was also ignored. This really upset Vanessa who went around complaining to the other HGs of Audrey’s audacity to not respond. Okay, Vanessa.
Later that night, Flashback to 9PM BBT, Liz started to express concerns over if they should continue taking Audrey food, but Becky says she’s had enough. Earlier Becky mentioned they brought her food during the day and now Audrey continues to violate the basic Have-Not rules. You can tell she’s frustrated as a Have-Not who is following the rules of the game she’s being paid to play while Audrey continues to do as she pleases.
Speaking of, Audrey later emerged again from the HN room to grab her bag and take Jason’s pillow from his bed and then chow down on an apple. Meanwhile at the exact same time (Flashback 9:45PM BBT), James is told by Big Brother than he can’t nap in the Lounge. Go figure.
As of now there truly is no chance of Audrey surviving the vote and remaining in the Big Brother house past Thursday. They’re all ready to move along in the game and focus on playing it. Audrey has decided to withdraw from the game, but not technically leave.
It’s such a disappointment to see Audrey leave the game this way. Yes, she had a messy game, but it was an entertaining one at that which earned her a lot of fans and support. Now instead of being remembered as the Houseguest who stirred up trouble and caused chaos Audrey could be forgotten as a quitter and cheater. That’s no way to leave the Big Brother game.
Update: This morning in the backyard, Flashback to 10:40AM BBT, Becky and Shelli discuss Audrey’s situation. Becky says they don’t know if it was a medical issue or not, but suspects it isn’t since Big Brother told them only that Audrey had opt’d out of the Veto Meeting. She has little sympathy for Audrey and the way Audrey treated Meg and Jackie when they were on the Block.
