Overnight Becky Burgess went to the Goblins alliance of Jackie, James, and Meg to discuss fears that there may be talk to keep Vanessa and evict Shelli. Nothing to fear, promised the Goblins.
After a lengthy talk with the Goblins where Becky explained Vanessa’s alignments and positioning over Shelli’s she was left with promises of safety, support, and security. As soon as she left the room it was another story.
Becky was hanging out with Meg and Jackie when she left for the bathroom giving them a quick few minutes to talk. Flashback to 1:26AM BBT as Jackie and Meg scramble to agree that they think it’s too risky to not vote out Shelli. They know Becky will go up on the Block against John, but they’ve been assured by Austin that it’ll be John going, not Becky. So what’s the harm, Meg and Jackie argue to each other.
Wait, wait. Stop them if you’ve heard that one before from Vanessa and the Austwins. Rewind one week as Vanessa promised the same trio that she didn’t care who went between Clay and Shelli and she would go with their wishes. How’d that one turn out?
Flashback to 1:29 AM BBT as Becky is freaking out over the idea of Vanessa staying. She returns to talk with Meg and Jackie. In no uncertain terms Becky says she is not okay with Shelli going over Vanessa. Becky says they had days to make this choice and now it’s too late to go back on it.
“If someone had said something Thurs, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday morning” then her conversation with Vanessa would have been disguising her renom as a pawn, not the target. Becky wouldn’t have detailed out why she’s so steadfast against Vanessa. Remember that the Goblins encouraged Becky to be very detailed in her reasons to target Becky. Heh.
Meg suggests the rest of the house isn’t against Shelli like they are against Vanessa. Becky points out then they should have considered that sooner before making this commitment. Fear not, Becky! “No one is going after you!” promises Meg. They assure Becky they can protect her. Keep in mind that they were just discussing how Becky could be going up on the Block as a result.
Now Meg tells Becky that if Vanessa wins HoH she’ll put her (Becky) and JMac up on the Block, but “think logically” Meg implores her. Meg goes on to say Austin has promised them 100% safety for Becky and they wouldn’t go back on that. No one is mad at Becky, says Meg. They’re more worried about JMac, Shelli, and Steve than Becky, says Meg. “You’re not on anyone’s radar.”
I can not wait to watch Thursday’s Double Eviction. No matter which Houseguests lose, we’re all going to be winners!
Meg is on a roll and tells Becky that Austin would be happy to see Vanessa go home so he’ll be on board with targeting her again. Becky refutes that saying Shelli and Austwins are not close like Vanessa and the Austwins (true). Becky says Shelli doesn’t have a relationship with Austwins (ehhh, not so true). “Shelli’s with John and that’s it.” We know that’s not true, but we also know Austwins don’t trust Shelli like they trust Vanessa after Shelli & Clay tried to get the target shifted to Austin and his Judas alter ego last week. They’ve clearly voiced a preference to keep Vanessa over Shelli.
The talk goes on for another forty minutes before Becky leaves at 2:23AM BBT. Meg again promises there’s “no chance” of Becky being in any danger. Becky leaves and the Goblins all agree that they don’t buy what Becky has been telling them. They think this is all a big ploy and a trick by Becky to get Vanessa out.
Let’s not forget that last week the Goblins said Vanessa was the head of the snake and needed to go as James considered shifting the target from Shelli to Vanessa. This week they’re making deals with her, trusting what she tells them, and even looking to her for guidance. Gotta love it.
For an added bonus, jump ahead to 2:29AM BBT as James has brought Vanessa in to talk with the Goblins. They want to be assurances from Vanessa? No worries, Vanessa knows just what to tell them. She’s grateful for just one more week in the game and hey, she doesn’t mind if she goes next.
Vanessa will be going after JMac and Becky and hey, that choice is up to the voters and she won’t care. Though she points out she’d rather have Becky go since “clearly I’m her number one target.” I’m sure Vanessa won’t try to influence that one at all. Good luck with that, Goblins.
