As the Big Brother 17 house prepares for the next eviction vote current nominees Becky and John are prepared for their upcoming split and start to plot next best moves for the surviving HG.
During a late night talk last night between the noms we heard Becky admit her big mistake in openly targeting Vanessa and John reveals some serious misconceptions that could soon sink his game.
Flashback on your Live Feeds to 12:36 AM BBT 8/19 Cams 1/2 as Becky and John sit alone outside on the couches. They’re running through the current alliances, who they could work with, and best hopes for the upcoming returning Juror.
Of course Becky hopes she’ll be the one to come back, but John says he just wants to make sure it’s not Shelli. Becky says if Shelli comes back that’d actually be easy on everyone since she’d be an easy out the next round. John says either Becky or Jackie would be more likely to work with him and Steve.
John worries that if he and Steve team up with James and Meg then they’d be the two stronger players and stand out as the targets while Steve and John teaming up with the Austwins might give them a better chance at survival.
Now as for Steve, John is not reading things well. He tells Becky that Steve and him are the loners in the game right now suggesting they have limited connections. John thinks he’s broken Steve’s link to Vanessa and has suggested that Steve isn’t with Austin and the twins. Yikes.
Over the past few days we’ve watched as Steve continues to push both John and the Austwins on the idea of keeping Vanessa. Steve thinks he’s in tight with Vanessa even after he was told how angry Vanessa was at him about initially denying her his vote. It’s an interesting situation to see John think he’s with Steve while Steve thinks he’s with Vanessa.
“My smart ass mouth,” admits Becky, is what she feels did her in as she reflects on last week. Instead of just lying to Vanessa that the target was Shelli she let her annoyances override and helped put her in this position this week. Becky wishes she had stayed more “rainbows and butterflies.”
As for Vanessa, getting her out won’t be easy, warns Becky. She recalls how she had four people on board with evicting Vanessa and then suddenly by Tuesday afternoon the whole plan was sunk and Vanessa stayed. Becky tells John there’s a lot of interest in keeping Vanessa to go after other players and keep the HGs distracted with her.
Flashback to 12:49AM BBT as the talk continues. John says Vanessa “has lost all credibility in the house.” Becky questions that asking if he’s sure and John says he is. I’d mostly agree and say probably all but Steve don’t really trust her, but that’s not to say they won’t still work with her though as she’d be useful to those allies.
Their talk continues as the two agree Steve is in a good position in the house with little opposition or targets on his back. John might really feel like he’s got a great potential ally here with Steve, but unless there’s a big shift soon I’d say John is low on Steve’s priority list. Maybe an HoH win by John would be that very shift he’d need.
Becky has no delusions over her chances to stay this week as she’s prepared to head out the door and John looks ahead to what needs to be done next week. Given the chance I’m sure John will go after Vanessa, but just like we saw happen to Becky, I’m still not convinced the house is ready to let her go if the majority ends up with a better option. If John doesn’t win the next HoH I’d expect him to be in trouble, but if he does get it then there could just be more trouble waiting around the corner.
