This season of Big Brother has been a mess… I don’t know how else to describe it. Several of the Big Brother 21 twists have failed. Several of the HGs have severely failed. But the only good thing of all of this – is we are heading into the final 9 after tonight – and this is truly anyone’s game. There was a big alliance early that seemed like they were going to steamroll through – they failed. There was a group of outsiders that looked like they were about to take control of the game, and guess what – this week – they failed. However – we have ourselves (hopefully) a great finish over the next 6 weeks!
This past week on BB21 has been a perfect example of what kind of mess we are living through. The Field Trip brought us the drama that most of us wanted to see – but ended up only giving us 101 ways to cook eggs, and several tears… too many tears. With that said – let’s take a look at how each player performed & if they will be chowing down on Bacon or Tofu.
Tommy Bracco – 5 strips of Bacon – just like Jess last week – Tommy won both the HoH and VETO giving him all of the power. While it would have been great to see one of his allies go home via the Field Trip twist – Tommy squashed that and kept his nominations the same and removed his #1 ally. He’s not as safe moving forward as he was a few weeks ago when the Six Shooters were in complete control of the game – but he still has a few people around him that may be targets before him. Coming out of a HoH – he appears to not have too much blood on his hands.
Jackson Michie – 4 strips of Bacon – OK quick question…. has Jackson eaten more watermelon this season than Matt ate Cereal on BB19??? Jackson correctly realized that he was not that well-liked by America – and did not care. He went out and won the Field Trip comp to keep himself safe. He saw the opportunity to get Christie out as a blessing – and even though that will not come to fruition due to Tommy’s VETO win – he still knows who he will go after if he wins the next HoH.
Holly Allen – 3 strips of Bacon – you know it’s a down week when the person getting the 3rd most bacon is someone who on the surface really did not do much – but Holly has been able to come out of the Six Shooters breakup in the best spot. She still has Jackson & Kat (for now) on one side working with her, still has Analyse willing to work with her, and is in pretty good graces with the rest of the house. Holly should be safe for a few more weeks (now that I said that – watch her go out next week)
Nick Maccarone – 2 strips of Bacon – so the term “Floater” is so overused in Big Brother – but Nick the last few weeks has played the perfect Floater game. That term is always debated – but the true meaning is someone who goes back and forth to show allegiance to the people in power. Last week – he was on Jess’ side and brought them some info. This week he is all in with Tommy & Christie’s side – probably because Analyse is on that side. But he still has some connections, especially with Nicole & Cliff. Remember just a few weeks ago when he was public enemy #1 inside the house? Now it seems that he is public enemy #1 to Isabella outside the house due to his snuggling with Analyse. But that does not affect his game inside the house – so it’s bacon for now for him.
Jessica Milagros – 1 strip of Bacon – she did a perfect job coming out of her HoH where she got rid of the biggest threat in the game and no one seemed to notice. While she is still a bit clueless to how to get info from people without giving more info out – she also is not a threat to anyone’s game at this point. we know there is a savage gameplayer in there somewhere – and this is the toughest vote for her so far as Kat & Cliff are both solid allies to her. Jess had a very unnecessary conversation with Analyse going over the new alliance forming that she is not a part of. When that was all said & done – I do not think anything changed & I want my hour back from having to watch that.
Cliff Hogg – 1/2 strip of Bacon – as a nominee – Cliff has done a pretty good job at running a clean campaign vs his Cliff’s Angels alliance member. His game has been the biggest roller coaster all season and there is still a chance that the votes may flip tonight and Cliff gets sent to the jury house. It is a longshot – but honestly – it’s the better move to get rid of him then it is to get rid of Kat this week. Kat is a much more emotional player and Cliff has shown he’s not as volatile.
Nicole Anthony – 1 strip of Tofu – Nicole by luck remained off the block this week. There was a plan to get her to go up vs Kat to ensure Kat would be sent packing this week – but that changed after the 3rd Nominee twist came along. She was offered a spot in the new alliance with Tommy, Christie, Sis, Nick, & Cliff – and it sounds like she will take it to keep Cliff safe this week. We know she is gathering a ton of information and is still in a pretty safe spot – but Nicole definitely needs to step up her game at this point to start building a resume if she gets to the end of the game. Yet with so many people still in the game overplaying – her laid back style is getting her far.
Analyse Talavera – 2 strips of Tofu – well, I could certainly give her credit for not being too emotional when voted by America to play in the Field Trip competition. She seemed to be confused at why she was targeted, then again, Analyse seems confused by a lot of things inside & outside of the game. Not saying student athletes get special treatment – but… how did this girl graduate college?? Anyway – she then came up with the idea to throw the comp and end up on the block – which actually made a little sense. Christie being in harm’s way was much worse. Yet – somehow Analyse could not figure out how to be worse than Christie in the comp and ended up in a chicken costume.
Analyse also did a decent job by trying to explain to Jackson why it would be better to keep Christie in the game as a shield. But Analyse at this point in the game is still pretty clueless and needs to have people tell her what to do before she does it. She seems like the best bet to drag to the end if someone wants to win easily. I would not put her in the Victoria BB16 category – but pretty darn close.
Kathryn Dunn – 3 strips of Tofu – I have been saying for weeks that Kat was starting to play an amazing game by keeping herself safe with everyone in the house. Turns out the only person to see through it all was this week’s HoH Tommy – and that spells doom for her. Her campaigning has not really been successful and if she stays again this week – just like the last 2 times – it’s not because of anything she has done. You would think by the 3rd time on the block Kat would have learned how to campaign a little better.
That brings us to this week’s Tofurkey of the Week – and for the 3rd time this season it is Christie Murphy. One thing I truly cannot stand in Big Brother are hypocrites – and Christie is one of the worst ones yet. Sure – we have seen HGs in the past that have a bad read on how they are being portrayed. Christie talks all about love, peace & harmony – but has been the biggest liar this season. She lies so much that she cannot keep track of them all. This does actually bode well at times in the game because she can deny some of the things she said – since she “honestly” cannot remember saying them. If she truly believes in her “manifestation powers – then perhaps she should take stock in what she is doing – how she is doing it – and who she is doing it to.
Christie lucked out by Tommy winning VETO this week and removing her from the block as she would have 100% gone home. But yeah Christie – America (aka the BB fanbase) is not too pleased with you. She will probably not win America’s Favorite Houseguest – so she better hope she wins first or second place if she wants to walk away with any money this season.
Ok – another week in the books – and a little uncertainty on who is leaving tonight. It’s always better when we do not know who is going. Then the battle for the new HoH and hopefully another power shift to keep the second half of the game exciting.
That brings me to my question of the week – who are you rooting for tonight to win HoH & who do you want them to target?
