Big Brother Over the Top Houseguests broke up the showmance early this season when they sent Shane Chapman out the door and back to North Carolina. Before he took off for home, though, we got a chance to talk to him about his game, what went wrong with it and what is next for him and Danielle.
Shane stuck to his guns the entire interview and doesn’t regret anything he said or did in the BBOTT house. Read on for all those details.
Big Brother Network: What happened to that bromance with Monte?
Shane: I gave it up early because my ride or die was Danielle. And I felt like Monte was a big threat and I figured hey I might as well take out a big threat sooner rather than later.
BBN: Did you expect Justin to throw the Veto to Danielle?
Shane: Yeah, of course. I thought Justin was going to throw it to Danielle. I thought he was going to pick Alex, but he didn’t. Justin didn’t want to get his butt kicked by Alex. He didn’t want to get his butt kicked by a girl. That was his thinking. I ran the numbers again and again. Even if she’d won, she would have taken herself off the block and I would have probably still gone because I would have been up next to Kryssie.
BBN: Your final speech was pretty fiery. What prompted that?
Shane: I found out that I was most likely going to leave. I wasn’t going to plea to people that I did not care for. I was going to be real. I wasn’t going to regret leaving and not saying how I felt.
BBN: Who do you think will turn on the Jamboree first?
Shane: Justin and Jason.
BBN: Who do you hope to see evicted next?
Shane: Of course Alex. She’s an amazing player and I noticed that on week one. She’s a hardcore player. Alex would be awesome to see. And even though he’s in our crew, Justin, because you don’t want to be up next to Justin because of America.
BBN: Who do you think has the shot at winning the game?
Shane: Best shot at winning this game would Probably be Neely. Neely is playing both sides, so she has a good opportunity of going pretty far.
BBN: Will you go home and continue to watch the season and vote along with America?
Shane: Of course, yeah. I’m going to definitely vote for the have-nots and the noms. I’m definitely going to keep up. I can’t wait to see what happens.
BBN: Do you plan to pursue something with Danielle outside the house?
Shane: Yes I do. Let’s say she leaves this week. I’ll give her a week, then I’ll be back to California. She has a life. She has to figure it out. But no, she’s been wanting to live in North Carolina and I think we’ll try it out. You can do nothing but try and I’m totally going to pursue that. So yeah.
Despite admitting to Julie Chen that he is in love with Danielle, he never planned to use the veto on Danielle or sacrifice his game for her. He says that Danielle is a gamer and never expected him to do any of those things for her regardless. He does think he’d have made it further had he not been in a showmance.
