Big Brother 27 preseason is upon us. This means that in the next few weeks, little tidbits about the upcoming season should start dropping periodically. We don’t know much about the new season of Big Brother yet, except that it might include the return of the A.I. Arena (rebranded) and a visit from a resurrected friend.
The Big Brother casting team has been hard at work trying to narrow down the new houseguests. They hosted a few in-person auditions along with reviewing casting tapes. They have made no official announcement, as of May, about finalizing the cast. This one may happen fairly close to the wire, because we know the Big Brother 27 premiere date.
In May, Big Brother’s official social media accounts announced its July 10th return. With the announcement of the premiere, it immediately made fans wonder and speculate when the finale date would happen. CBS has yet to confirm a Big Brother 27 finale date. However, they announced in May that Survivor and The Amazing Race would air on Wednesdays this fall.
Survivor 49 released a teaser but hasn’t released an official premiere date. The upcoming Amazing Race, The Amazing Race 38, will feature an entire cast of former Big Brother players. It’s a season with them and their family members. Because The Amazing Race ties into Big Brother, this could mean a shorter season. And that’s the current theory about this new season.
For a few years, Big Brother 23’s Azah has hosted reality TV parties. This includes some premiere and finale events. She recently announced a tour that includes a premiere party in New York and the finale in Los Angeles. The interesting thing about the finale watch party announcement is that it has an actual date, instead of a vague mention of one to be determined later.
The date is September 28, 2025. This doesn’t seem like Azah just picked a date out of her hat, because it matches up with a few things we already know about the upcoming season. After the premiere date announcement, a few news outlets gave some more details about the upcoming season. Parade revealed that there would be a new Friday series called Unlocked.
It features three Big Brother all-stars discussing the show with behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, exclusives, guest appearances, and more. It is a talk show-type series to discuss the season, from strategy to showmances. The dates announced for Unlocked are as follows: Friday, July 25, August 8, August 22, September 5, September 19, and September 26.
If September 26 is the last episode of Unlocked, it makes sense, especially if the finale is September 28. Big Brother 26 also had a Sunday finale, so this would fit the pattern of the previous season. This would also mean The Amazing Race and Survivor would likely begin early October and lead into the holiday season, with potential December finales.
There is also a possibility of Celebrity Big Brother returning in winter 2026 to face off against the Winter Olympics. This would basically give fans some sort of Big Brother content from summer to early winter. This certainly makes up for the drought of Big Brother content following last season’s finale.
If Big Brother 27 airs from July 10 to September 28, this makes it about an 82-day season, putting it on par with Big Brother 24.
