Update: CBS has announced the premiere of Big Brother’s 15th season will air at 8PM ET instead of 9PM on June 26th. This new time will be the series permanent Wednesday time unlike the previously proposed timeslot swap midseason. Smart move.
Get ready Big Brother fans! CBS has just announced the premiere date for Big Brother 15 and not only has this news arrived incredibly early, but so will the season!
While BB traditionally starts after the 4th of July we’ll instead be treated to an extended season when Big Brother 15 premieres on Wednesday, June 26th at 9PM 8PM ET. Awesome! So while CBS says “Big Brother will have a longer edition this summer, premiering two weeks earlier” we may or may not get an extra two weeks on the end. That schedule could depend on how many Hantz HouseGuests meltdown and quit. Ziiinnngg!
Here’s some other surprising news. The BB15 schedule has also shifted to airing on different nights. For the 2013 summer season we’ll be watching Big Brother on Sundays (8PM ET), Tuesdays (9PM ET), and Wednesdays. At first I thought we were back to the old faithful (and my preference) Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, but nope.
The season premiere will once again be pre-recorded and air on Wednesday (6/26) then we’ll get a Sunday and Tuesday episode before the first live eviction on July 3rd. Then, just to confuse us, on July 17th the Wednesday episodes of Big Brother will move up to 8PM ET for the rest of the longer (and presumably awesome) season. CBS has decided to move up BB15 to a permanent 8PM broadcast on Wednesdays all season long.
There’s still time to apply for Big Brother Season 15 so check out the details and send in your application right now if you think you’ve got what it takes to win.
