It only took 30+ days of Big Brother 22 – but we finally have ourselves a traditional Big Brother game with the lies, fights, & tears that come with every season. Unfortunately – this season has been such a mess up til now – that many of us are still not impressed by this “All-Star” version of BB – but at least it’s trending in the right direction.
There were also a lot of questionable comments and actions by several players this week that were not game related. This is sad considering all of these players know the impact of their words inside the house affect their image outside the house. I will not “name names” – but I am glad that production stepped in and told them to cool it on making fun of Ian’s stemming/rocking. If you are not aware of who said what – an easy Google search will fix that.
Ok – back onto game talk (not personal talk, or personal game talk) – the house is definitely shook and hopefully this week we can see more gaming and less “go with the house” nonsense.
But first – let’s hand out some bacon & tofu to these houseguests for how they played this week
Enzo Palumbo – 4 strips of Bacon – yo, this house is crazy yo. I don’t wanna get in the middle of nuttin yo – so I am just gonna sit back and chill. Wanna hear another funny story about the crazy s**t I used to do yo? (this is Enzo speak for – I am gonna let other people blow up their games, and I will just walk to the end)
Nicole Franzel – 3 strips of Bacon – despite all the hate Nicole is getting outside the house by the fanbase on Twitter – she did one of the nicest things of the season. Giving up 5K for a punishment shows us that Nicole is not all pure evil. There has been some speculation that she did this knowing it would give her more screen time being in an outfit (AGAIN) – but after the negative fallout from Kaysar’s speech – this was a good way to downplay it even if it was all for game and not at all personal.
Cody Calafiore – 2 strips of Bacon – first of all – condolences to the Calafiore family for the loss of Cody’s grandfather this week. After a stressful week where Cody was called out by a wall-yeller for running the house culminating in the scorching speech by Kaysar calling him out even worse – after Thursday he seemed to blend back into the background. None of this week’s drama had anything to do with him, and he stayed out of it and let others sink their own games.
Da’Vonne Rogers – 1 strip of Bacon – Da’Vonne was guilty by association due to her closeness to Bayleigh, and found herself on the block. She was never the target and she has said & done everything she should have done in the position she was in, don’t rock the boat, and move the target onto herself. She was able to NOT do that while still sticking up for her friend all week. Uf this was Da’Vonne S17 or S18 – we may have seen even more fireworks this week – but this season – she has her eyes on the big prize. To think, 1 correct answer in the final round of the HoH would have had this week play out COMPLETELY different. If Christmas can go from surviving he block to HoH – why can’t Da’Vonne do it this week (please, please, please)
Memphis Garrett – 0 strips of anything – let’s face it – if you are a CBS only viewer, you probably forgot he was in the house. If you are a Feedster that watches after 7pm BB time – you probably forgot he was in the house. I cannot give bacon or tofu to someone who did not do anything this week. He didn’t help or hurt his game this week – he just sorta existed
Ian Terry – 1 strip of Tofu – last week we saw Ian & Kaysar finally figure everything out with alliances in the house. Although Kaysar already knew most of it – and Ian was assisted by the wall-yeller. But what has Ian done with that info? Absolutely nothing. Similar to Enzo, he is doing everything he can to stay out of the drama. Unfortunately for him, Enzo has protection around him, and Ian does not.
Dani Donato – 2 strips of Tofu – as George Costanza told Jerry Seinfeld when he was about to go for a polygraph… “it’s not a lie if you believe it.” I am not sure if Dani realizes how much she has been lying in this game, but one thing’s for sure – she thinks this whole season is all about her. When there was a little “madness” with Tyler wanting to go home – she of course thought there was a plot to backdoor her. Do you know who gets suspicious – guilty people.
Bayleigh Dayton – 3 strips of Tofu & 1 strip of Bacon – this girl had a rollercoaster of a week. Bayleigh found herself on the block this week because of a conversation that she initiated and does not see that was a big error on her part. Asking Christmas who her “untouchable” is and when she didn’t answer, instead of replying Da’Vonne – Bay should have said “YOU and Da’Vonne.” You never, ever ever ever tell someone that another player is higher up on your totem pole. I will however give her a strip of bacon for how she handled herself during the confrontation with Christmas. She did not back down, but also did not get aggressive and turn it around on her. More on this later
Kevin Campbell – 4 strips of Tofu – I really thought Kevin turned the page after last week – but as soon as the week turned over – his Debbie Downer persona came back and the quirky funny Kevin left us. He still has a very bad read on the house – but he is not playing as badly as…. (see below)
David Alexander – 5 strips of Tofu – did David really campaign against Da’Vonne? Yes. Did David say he was doing this to test the waters and see if there were cracks? Yes. Does David have a clue how to play Big Brother despite being 5 weeks into the game? No!
That brings us to the Tofurkey of the Week – and for the 2nd time this season – we saw the HoH also win Veto. In previous seasons this is usually met with 5 strips of Bacon. The first time it happened this season Memphis got 4 strips of Tofu for the way he behaved towards David. This time it is giving Christmas Abbott the TotW award. What Christmas did was not as bad as how she did it – and how she kept making herself look bad in the process. I wonder how she will feel when she realizes her alliance is not as loyal to her as she is to them. Her HoHitis has been pretty bad – considering this is the 2nd HoH she won in her BB career by doing absolutely nothing!
If you noticed – I did not give any rating to Tyler Crispen this week – because I do not know what the motivation was for his actions this week. Was he gaming, was he serious, was he just testing Christmas’ loyalty? Did he really ask to leave and if so – was he told he was not going to get paid and that made him flip a switch? I wanted to give him the benefit of a doubt and commend him for trying to do a selfless act – but I can’t. I always say GREED is one of the Seven Deadly Sins and that is a great motivator/detractor for BB players. I do not want to speculate what Tyler said in the DR or in the HoH room when we did not see it for ourselves. We will never know exactly what happened – only the producers do – and you know they will never voluntarily tear down someone they hold in such high regard. They still see Tyler as an asset to the show’s reputation as witnessed by the edit on the Wednesday night show.
Phew – this was a tough week to rank the players as mentioned in the opening. There were a lot of factors going on that were not gameplay sneaking their way into the game. I think I speak for most of us when I say – even BAD Big Brother is better than NO Big Brother.
My question of the week is this – at this stage of the game – who do you think is in the best spot? Not who do you think will win, not who are you rooting for, but who do you think is the least threatening to the rest of the HGs.
Let me know what you think of my rankings and answer the Question of the Week in the comments section below.
