Big Brother 21 Episode 24 Recap: Jackson Plays Some Chess

Sunday night’s episode of Big Brother 21 included a montage of Jacksonisms, or things Jackson likes to say. One of them is that “it’s time to play chess and not checkers.” And so that’s what he decided to do this week. He has had his sights on Christie for some time now, and he now has the power to make the move.

The episode picks up during the Head of Household competition. But we’ve still got to talk about what happened right before last week’s vote that send Kat off to jury. And by that I mean when Jessica further proved she’s not a great Big Brother player and blew up the house.

Cut to 18 hours before eviction and Jessica confronts Analyse about the new six that was forming. Analyse does a lot of denying and then Jessica decides to tell her that Holly said Analyse was flirting with Jackson. That upsets Analyse who goes to tell Christie. And during this conversation, Holly eavesdrops on the two of them. Holly then enters the room and Analyse tells Holly what she heard Holly say. Jessica joins the group and when they realize everyone can hear then talking, they go to the have-not room.

Christie swears on her sister’s life that there isn’t a new six (there kind of is). And then Jackson sneaks up to listen some more. He hears the three of them talking about Jackson and Holly having no one in the game and that they need to go.

So Jessica tried to blow up the house, but really only blew up her own game.

Cut back to the HOH competition. Nick, Jackson, Christie and Holly are all moving pretty quickly and evenly. Nick has a slight lead at first, but Jackson then starts taking the lead and it becomes clear that he’s not going let anyone catch up. No one else slows down. Everyone keeps competing all the way up to the point Jackson fills his container and can reach his ball. Jackson is the new Head of Household.

Jackson lets Holly know right away that he wants Christie out. Holly tells him he has to be sure the second nominee will be someone who would vote for her to stay. Jackson thinks that Analyse would be the best option, especially since she has been trashing Holly lately.

Cliff lets Jackson know that the deal he made with the others included going after Jackson and Holly. So Jackson is even more fired up to go after Christie and Analyse.

Jackson makes his HOH rounds and Christie is up. He lets her know that he’s not doing much talking, but is doing a lot of listening. Christie lets Jackson know that there wasn’t an actual new alliance, but it was brought to her to keep Cliff. Christie’s talk with Jackson doesn’t really do her any good because Jackson is really set on going after her.

Analyse is up to talk to Jackson next. She can barely form sentences, but she does let Jackson know that Nick was the one who put that six-person deal together last week. This lets Jackson know that he is going to have to worry about Nick sooner rather than later. Jackson then tells her that she’s not going to be his target this week, but is really trying to hint to her that might be on the block. But it goes over her head and she thinks she’s totally safe this week.

Nick moves up on the target list, but this week Jackson is dead-set on Christie going out. So at the nomination ceremony, Jackson nominates Christie and Analyse for eviction. Christie isn’t at all surprised, but Analyse feels blindsided because she just didn’t pick up on what Jackson was getting at when they had their discussion.
