Big Brother 21 Episode 21 Recap: America Sends The Players A Message

On Sunday night’s episode of Big Brother 21, we got to see America’s Field Trip play out. One player earned safety, one a punishment, and one found themselves on the block. But what was most interesting about this twist was they were delivered a pretty stern message from America.

The episode picked up right after Tommy won the Head of Household competition. And so now the question of will the six (now five) reunite? Cliff is fully expecting to go on the block since he did not take Jack’s offer last week. Jackson lets us know that he also won’t be shocked if he’s on the block. Kat is also pretty disappointed in the HOH outcome since Tommy tried to flip the vote on Kat two evictions ago. Basically, the only people happy with this outcome are Tommy, Christie and Analyse.

Tommy lets Christie know that his plan is probably to nominate Kat and Cliff with Kat as the target. Cliff gets some time with Tommy to help prevent that. Cliff explains how he played the game last week and says that he’s open to promises and commitments. Tommy tells him that if he does have to nominate him this week, he is not the target.

Kat takes her turn with Tommy after Cliff. She’s feeling the heat, so she wants to see what she can do. She lets him know that she would never go after him or vote him out. He lets us know that her pitch did nothing for him because he knows she’s playing all sides of the house.

So it sounds like Tommy has his targets set and nothing can get in his way… Oh wait. It’s time for America’s Field Trip!

The TV comes on with an America’s Field Trip announcement and Tommy reads the card give to them. He lets the others know that America has been voting the past eight days to send three houseguests on a field trip and that they will be taking part in a competition that could effect their games. Tommy reads that the competition winner will earn safety for the week, second place gets a punishment, and third place will be the week’s third nominee. And then the TV reveals the three America chose: Jackson, Analyse and Christie.

Jackson knows that he got picked NOT because he’s America’s favorite. He is very aware it was the opposite reason. And Christie says she knows that America wouldn’t be voting people they like into this competition. And so the tears start. She’s really upset that America must not like her.

And right away, Christie being on the block is sounding like a really good opportunity for people in the game. Tommy and Analyse, however, know that Christie on the block is going to be so tempting to others, so Analyse suggests she could throw the competition because she would have a better chance staying than Christie.

Let’s get to the competition and see what happens! It’s the classic chicken coup competition. They have to maneuver eggs through chicken wire and then have to roll the eggs down a platform to knock down the letters S-A-F-E. While playing, the three had a lot of time to think about it and they come to the realization that America would not vote their three favorite players to do this grueling competition.

Jackson is the first to final knock a letter down. Then he gets his second and Analyse gets her first. Christie is doing so terrible Analyse doesn’t know if she can even throw it. Jackson gets his final letters down first and wins safety. Analyse is second and earns the punishment. That means Christie is on the block as the third nominee.

And everyone right away starts thinking about how great an opportunity it is for Christie to be on the block. Sending her out on Tommy’s HOH is very appealing to a lot of people. Tommy knows he now might have to rethink his target to help keep Christie safe this week.

So at the nomination ceremony he keeps the nomination plans the same and puts Kat and Cliff on the block, but knows the target might have to shift to Cliff to save Christie.
