What a difference a week of Big Brother 19 makes huh? Last week at this time, we were all glued to the feeds – waiting to see who’s votes would fall where. There was a line drawn in the sand, Cody vs Paul. We had the potential to a house divide of BB6 proportions… and then….. Paul won HoH.
So now when we say “It’s a long way til Thursday” – we are not saying that anything is possible, we’re saying, its a loooooooong way til Thursday. Hopefully one of the Outsiders wins HoH and we get back to some crazy Big Brother action.
BUT FIRST – lets hand out Bacon & Tofu to the Houseguests for their gameplay this week.
Paul Abrahamian – 5 strips of Bacon – Paul won HoH, he won Veto, he executed a textbook Backdoor against the #1 enemy of the house, and he is still safe for another week. By getting rid of Cody, he has earned himself even more trust. Other than Ramses and Jessica, he thinks he has them all wrapped around his beard. Eventually a few of them will rise against him.. right???
Honestly – I was seriously considering giving everyone else Tofu for their lack of original game ideas, but a few of them quietly stepped up their position in the house.
Alex Ow – 3 strips of Bacon – yes, she went up on the block as a pawn and remained there after Paul pulled Josh off instead of her. But Alex has been making her rounds and somehow shrunk the target off her back considerably. Next to Paul – she has the most people that she is tight with, and is probably safe no matter who wins next HoH. Alex is fully aware of who she really trusts, and who she is really playing.
Christmas Abbott – 2 strips of Bacon – Thanks to a busted up leg, Christmas has earned the sympathy of most of her fellow HGs & will probably last far into the game. She is using the time wisely – getting to know everyone, even tried to have a civilized conversation with Jessica. However – some people may be getting a little tired of her – but as long as Paul wants her around – she will stick around. Fans can question why she can leave for surgery and be able to come back into the game. I am not 100% sure if there is something in the rule book about it (maybe Kryssie from BBOTT can tell us) – but she is, so deal with it.
Matthew Clines & Raven Walton – 1 strip of bacon each. Last week I gave Maven 2 strips of Tofu each – this week, I am giving them the benefit of the doubt – because they are so non-threats at this point of the game. At some point they may be a target, but that is still a ways off!
Kevin Schlehuber – 1 strip of Bacon – Kevin’s hinkey vote for Jillian to leave and constant deflection of the question is amazing. I am starting to think he knows a lot more of what he’s doing than he’s letting on. Another one who is on no one’s radar up til now. Kevin is very deliberate with his words, so as long as he can keep that up – he’s golden
Dominique Cooper – 1/2 strip of Bacon & 1/2 strip of Tofu – not really sure why someone who is so safe is still playing so hard. She has an ability to get people to tell her things, and you know she is putting it into her bank to use against them later. I have hope that even though she has fully penetrated the inner circle of Paul’s army – she will be the first one to jump ship and try to make a move against him. Unfortunately – I think if she does it, it will be a week too early.
Mark Jansen & Elena Davies – 1 strip of Tofu each – there was a bump in the road last week with Marlena, but they quickly got that showmance on track. They both play very emotionally – Mark’s are a bit soft & Elena’s are a bit harsh – so they even each other out.
Ramses Soto – 2 strips of Tofu – poor Ramses, he gets blamed for everything that Kevin does and cannot seem to find anyone to believe him. This is just making the target on him bigger – but he is not stressing too much and is really enjoying his time in the house. Ramses really needs to win HoH this week as he is the bigger target over Jessica from Paul’s army.
Jason Dent – 3 strips of Tofu – “I suck at this game” – Jason said what many of us have been thinking since day 1. Jason is not a bad guy – and no one really despises him, but he has no idea what he is doing in the game. If not for Alex & Kevin keeping him in check – Jason may have even campaigned against Alex to try to keep Cody… wait.. no, no he would never think that, or would he??? He has been a trooper this week in the Ve-Toad outfit, having way more fun than Jessica & Cody are with it. I would really love to see him win an HoH and shake things up a little. But unless the challenge is outrunning a bull, not sure what competition he would win.
Josh Martinez – 4 strips of Tofu – Josh is so desperate to be loved by his fellow HGs that he had no issues going up on the block as a pawn, and once he was taken off, he acted like he just made the move himself. He has no clue that he is still at the bottom of Paul’s army, but even if he stuck with the Outsiders last week, he would have been at the bottom of theirs. He will blindly follow Paul & Christmas as long as he can (kinda like some other fanboy followed Jeff & Jordan on BB13).
Cody Nickson – 5 strips of Tofu – oh Cody… we have not seen anyone get as power hungry since BB16 Devon. Both of them went rogue and took control of their alliance and went behind their backs to try ti make moves – and just like Devon – Cody is getting chopped way too early. Ok, ok, I know a lot of you reading this may not fans of his – but he did bring some excitement to the house the first week – and IF.. if he wins the Battle Back that most of the house does not think will happen – he will be coming back stronger, hungrier, and probably crazier. He is resigned to leaving – I have not even seen him try to flip the house to keep him. Granted it probably would not have worked – but he could have at least tried!! I cannot wait for him to be interviewed by Julie in that frog suit.
That brings us to the Tofurkey of the Week – and it goes to Cody’s showmance partner Jessica Graf. Similar to Cody, she has isolated herself from the rest of the house, had a major fight with Christmas during the live show, had another blowout with Josh after the Veto meeting, and basically threw her entire game away. Does she realize that she is still in the game, she still has a chance to get far. She should have spent this week trying to mend fences with the other HGs – instead she pulled further away. She claimed to be a super fan – but plays like she never heard of Big Brother.
Jessica (just like Ramses) needs to win the HoH this week – and frankly – WE the fans need her to win HoH just to see everyone come back to her and beg for their safety. If she does not win, she better hope that whoever does win does not try to go after her &/or she wins the Veto. That is way too many IF’s. However the other MUST SEE moment of the summer could be if Jessica & Cody square off in a Battle Back competition. Which one would throw it to the other?
My question of the week is – what do you think of the Temptations so far this year? Sure – the Pendant of Production… I mean of Protection was geared to save Paul – but now he is no longer eligible.
There we go – another week in the books. I still have hope that this season can turn around and get back to the crazy drama we had the first week. This cast is pretty awesome when they are not kissing up to Paul or think this is all a Make-A-Wish season and want to hand Raven $500K. Even if we have 2 or 3 more weeks of the same – once they all start having to cut each other – you will see some of them get REAL ugly!
Let me know what you think of my rankings this week – as well as answer my Question of the Week in the comments section below.
