Wednesday night’s episode of Big Brother 19 was filled with tension, tears and one slithering snake.
The episode picked up right after Alex nominated Jessica and Dominque for eviction. Alex explains that nominating Dominique takes a number away from the other side and nominating Jessica was just because of what’s leftover from Cody’s time in the house.
Jessica isn’t surprised, but Dominique is a little confused. She has her suspicions that her side of the house was aware that she was going on the block. And she doesn’t hide it from anyone that she’s upset with her allies. She is seriously upset with Paul and lets Mark know that she is.
Dominique is feeling betrayed by her team, but it’s Mark who is crying in the Diary Room over it. Dom has a few tears, too, but Mark really needs to compose himself. He’s not even innocent in her nomination.
A little later, we’ve got Dominique praying and asking God what’s up and I’m pretty sure she claims that God physically spoke to her and said Paul’s name three times. At first I thought she was going to hear production call Paul’s name over the intercom, but I’m pretty sure she thinks God said the word Paul. Three times even.
When she leaves the room, who is there waiting for her? PAUL. Woah! I mean there was only a 1 in 12 shot that he would be the person sitting in the other room! Creepy! They have a little talk and Paul is still trying to cover and string her a long a bit, but she’s not trusting him. Because, you know, God just told her.
At the veto draw, we learn that joining Alex, Jessica and Dominique in the competition will be Kevin, Christmas and Jason via Jessica’s houseguest choice. Alex quickly gets with Jason and Kevin on plans for the veto. They are definitely making Dominique the target over Jessica, so Jason knows if they want Dom out this week, Jessica has to come off the block.
Alex, however, is worried about having to nominate another person this week and sketching more people out. She’d rather keep nominations the same and convince others to vote out Dominique. And if that doesn’t happen, Jessica going home is no sweat off Alex’s back.
Once again we rush right into the veto competition and it’s too physical for Christmas to play. And Kevin takes the temptation from the competition and walks away with a whopping $27. In the end it’s Jason who wins the Power of Veto, leaving Dominique and Jessica vulnerable.
Paul decides that it’s time to get to work on convincing Alex to put Mark up as a pawn and for Jason to use the veto on Jessica. Paul explains that the only way Dominique doesn’t go home this week is if Mark has the chance to not only vote to save her, hut campaign for enough votes to keep her. Alex takes it in and considers it but seems pretty eh about it.
Dominique wants her turn with Jason so she goes to talk to him in an attempt to expose Paul as a snake and convince him to use the veto on her. She tells him that it is very apparent that she has been betrayed by her people and that she’s very aware of who the snake is. She won’t come out and say who it is, however, but she definitely means Paul. She warns Jason to watch out for the people trying to get close to him and he’ll figure out who the snake is.
Jason goes back to Alex, Paul, Mark and Elena and tells them about the snake comment. He says he’s pretty sure she thinks the snake is one of them. They all act confused about who she’s talking about.
Dominique later catches up with Alex and quizzes her on snakes, instead of just saying PAUL IS A SNAKE. Alex figures out who she’s calling a snake and goes to tell him. Paul says he will wake the entire house but Alex says Dom already wants a house meeting. Paul decides to go down and get the meeting under way now (it’s the middle of the night, mind you).
And so the meeting begins. And it gets off to a hostile start. There’s a lot of snake talk and defensiveness. Dominique calls Paul out and lets us know that so many people are just following him becase he’s a vet (even though up until this week she was right behind Paul too). Basically, Dominique kind of seals her fate this week and doesn’t have much of a shot at staying with just a normal house vote.
For a little while, Paul had Alex and Jason both convinced to use Mark as a pawn this week, but after talking to Mark, the wheels kind of stopped spinning. Raven as a pawn comes up, but the two of them are too nervous. Alex and Jason realized that while they respect Paul’s opinion, he’s not their dad, so they’ll make their own decisions.
At the nomination ceremony, Jason decides not to use the Power of Veto, so Jessica and Dominique remain on the block.
