Vanessa might have have finally played too hard one too many times after she tried to take on Johnny Mac and smear him in the house. Unfortunately for Vanessa, the house was already on to her.

Thanks to information revealed by Becky the night before, the Austwins have been suspicious of Vanessa so when she came to them with tales of a “raging” Johnny Mac the pieces came together again.

To kick this party off you’ll need to rewind to 1:06PM BBT 8/14 Cams 3/4 as Vanessa talks with Johnny Mac about the upcoming nominations. Talk turns to how John says he knew what was going on last week with him being a pawn alongside Shelli because she told him. Vanessa doesn’t like that.

There’s a series of back and forth as Vanessa insists John’s memory is faulty and she didn’t tell him. John says he heard her tell Chelli about the 8-HG alliance. Vanessa says she never told them and he’s lying. John says okay, but he heard her and it’s in his brain.

Vanessa leaves the Have-Not room. John jokingly asks “wheeeerrrreee ya going?” He decides he should follow her. It’s a good idea.

Vanessa grabs Steve and pulls him in the Lounge. She immediately goes on the offensive telling Steve he has one opportunity to tell her the truth. Vanessa wants to know if Steve told John. He denies. John opens the door and walks right in. “Hello! How’s it going? What are we doing?” asks John in an overly friendly tone. Flashback to 1:29PM BBT to watch. Later Vanessa will lie about that in her retells.

Vanessa starts digging in to John about what he’s been saying. He insists it’s not a big deal, but she thinks it is. Steve asks if he can leave. “No,” replies Vanessa who then returns her focus to grilling John. After a few Steve gets out of the room and John almost escapes when Vanessa says she wants to talk. John shuffles back to the couch and slumps down.

It’s a lot to listen to, but John is quietly slouched on the couch listening to Vanessa do her rapid speech spiel. John tells her he felt bullied when she aggressively went after him just before Clay’s eviction. She denies any such thing. This was when she publicly accused him in a grandstanding fashion then said he was either related to Clay or his gay lover. You know, keeping it classy and all.

Finally John tells Vanessa that he doesn’t like it when she cries and yells at people. In this case it was him on the receiving end of that, John tells her. As we’ve heard John tell others, that’s the kiss of death for Vanessa’s targets. Vanessa says she’s sorry he feels that way and walks out. Feeds cut for the nominations, but the Vanessa adventure hasn’t stopped.

After Feeds cut and before noms, according to retells we heard later, Vanessa dashed upstairs and told Austin that John had just publicly stated he was coming after the Austwins. This infuriated Austin and worked as she had hoped. Immediately following the Nominations Ceremony, where John and Becky were put on the Block, Austin is telling Liz that John has lost it and has to be evicted. Vanessa isn’t done there either with her dead horse beatings.

Flashback to 3:43 PM BBT as Vanessa is leading the Austwins on an anti-John tirade where he’s described as potentially violent and possibly bi-polar. Vanessa tells them that John listens to death metal and rage music which in her professional psychologist opinion shows he’s crazy and can’t handle his emotions. She’s afraid he might hurt her. Yeah.

Vanessa tells the Austwins how John barged in to the Lounge and demanded to know if they were talking about him. She describes his demeanor has having red, rage filled eyes. Obviously, that wasn’t really going on.

Meg has been downstairs talking with John (around the 4:15PM BBT mark) and has encouraged John to talk to Austin about it. Meg later warns Austin what might be going on with Vanessa. The Austwins realize what Vanessa was doing to make John a target. They want to talk privately with John.

Jump to 5:28PM BBT as John arrives in the HoH room to talk privately with Liz and Austin. He unloads everything he knows. John reveals how Vanessa had been lying about recent events, what he heard her tell Clay and Shelli, and he even explains how she yells at HGs and then they get evicted.

This was a very important talk for John. Austin says he wants to work with John and wants him to stay. Just as Becky saved herself with revealing what she knew about Vanessa, now it seems John may have done the same with his game. Of course they can’t both be saved this week unless one escapes the Block. It could come down to the Power of Veto competition later on Saturday.

Later discussions between Liz and Austin confirm that they now believe and trust John. Vanessa’s trust with them is shot, but they won’t be the ones to take her out. It makes sense. Vanessa is a house target now and leaving her around is cannon fodder to protect them for at least another week.

We did hear from Julia to Liz that she’s worried John is Austin’s preferred pick to keep over Becky for his own personal reasons. Might not matter though as the twins say their hotness can be used to influence John more easily than they could do with Becky. Okay, ladies.

By the end of the night everyone in the house knows what Vanessa has done. Even Steve. Austin explained it to him but says they’ll have to play it cool with her for now. Our fun will be watching to see when and how Vanessa realizes everyone is either against her or placating her as a faux ally. As always, good times ahead.
