The Sixth Sense alliance found themselves pitted against each other in Sunday night’s episode as Vanessa, Clay and Shelli got in on a plan to backdoor ally Austin this week.
But when the plan completely backfired during the Battle of the Block competition, Vanessa, Clay and Shelli were left in quite the bind.
The episode picks up after Jackie and Vanessa won HOH. Jackie celebrates that she’s not a pawn in this game, but a queen. And Vanessa is already complaining about getting blood on her hands.
And the guys are starting to realize that the girls are steamrolling the guys. They’re all feeling pretty useless. But Austin, of course, only cares about the twins coming into the game. It’s all he wants. So let’s cut back to Austin going rogue to attempt to protect the twins.
The first step is to talk to Jason about the twins and try to get sway him away from targeting them. So Austin lays it out that he has a thing for Liz and that she is a twin and that her name is Julia. He also lets Jason, and us, know that he wants to work with both twins, but he could let Julia go if he needs to.
Jason decides to tell Shelli what Austin told him. And since Shelli already knows, she knows Austin is making some dumb decisions and not including the alliance in on it. So Vanessa comes by and Shelli fills her in on it. And Vanessa’s wheels start spinning. Austin has officially betrayed the alliance.
So Vanessa, Clay and Shelli meet up to talk about how to handle Austin. Vanessa isn’t happy and starts considering cutting him loose.
But first thing’s first — Vanessa and Jackie have to discuss who they’re nominating (actually they don’t have to but that’s exactly what’s going to always happen because Battle of the Block is extremely flawed). Jackie wants to put up Liz and Vanessa has to act like she’s OK with that. So by the end of the talk, they have their nominees mostly figured out. But Vanessa needs to talk to Austin about what she’s heard.
When Vanessa asks Austin what he said to Jason, he withholds a lot of information and tells him not to lie to her. And he says he isn’t lying to her and won’t lie to her. So Vanessa knows the possibility of backdooring Austin is real.
As if that wasn’t enough, Vanessa has a talk with Julia about what Austin said to Jason and that there’s a possibility of getting Austin out this week. Vanessa then fills in Shelli and Clay and start talking about targeting him this week. The plan is for Jackie to stay in power and Jackie wants to target Austin or Liz. So all they have to do is convince Jackie that Austin needs to be the target.
So now pawn talk starts. Clay decides that he would go up next to Becky so they can win Battle of the Block and dethrone Vanessa. Becky agrees to go up as well. So the only thing left is to find out the right person to go up next to Liz.
So Vanessa pulls in James, Jason and Meg to let them know that they want to target Austin this week. So by the end of this conversation, James is going up with Liz and they all know that Austin will be backdoored this week.
There’s one more thing Vanessa has to do and that’s explain to Austin why she’s putting up Clay. She tells him the plan is to backdoor Steve and that this is the only way to ensure that Jackie keeps Steve as her target.
So at the nomination ceremony, Jackie goes with James and Liz and Vanessa goes with Clay and Becky as planned.
It’s time for twin switch. Julia fills Liz in on some of what’s going down, but they’re so distracted about being nominated that Julia can tell her the entire backdoor Austin plan. So now Liz is back in the house and not happy she’s on the block. So she continues her fauxmance with Austin now that she’s even more vulnerable than usual.
At the Battle of the Block competition, the players are faced with a spelling and Big Brother history competition. They have to spell names of players from last season by throwing paint on invisible letters. Clay and Becky completely flop and some how, Liz basically wins the competition by herself.
So the plan this week has already backfired as Jackie is dethroned and Clay and Becky remain on the block. Did someone check Shelli’s pulse?
