Vanessa Rousso might have woken a sleeping Johnny Mac on Thursday when she went after him ahead of Clay’s eviction. The Rockstar Dentist felt the heat and is on the move to cut off Vanessa’s next move before she can do it to him.
Overnight John McGuire held two important conversations with Houseguests he now considers to be his best ally hopes: Shelli Poole and Steve Moses. John worked to secure their support and draw up a plan before the Veto competition on Saturday.
Flashback on your Feeds to 12:49AM BBT 8/8 as John sits down with Shelli. After their initial chatter John drops to a whisper and warns Shelli that he knows the plan to go after Vanessa but he fears she does too.
John tells Shelli it’s them two and Steve fighting for their Big Brother lives. He goes on to explain the plan Vanessa helped craft was for the remaining half of Chelli to go up on the Block alongside Steve and John. This is all news to Shelli.
When it comes to the Veto picks, John warns Shelli that if she picks him then Vanessa will know that they know. Heh. He knows that Vanessa put together the 8-person plan but then has been coming downstairs telling him that the other seven are after him and her. John is on to her.
Shelli worries what to do about the Veto picks, but John says it’s best to pick him even if it exposes their position in the game. The clincher may come when John tells Shelli Vanessa’s modus operandi: blow up in a fight with Vanessa then evicted. Shelli realizes he’s right.
John reiterates that it all comes down to him, her, and Steve alone against the house. He says there was never any Becky for them. Apparently something has happened to make John distrust Becky and I’m not sure what it was. He promises to use the Veto on Shelli if he gets the Veto. Shelli tells John she wants to work with him and not Vanessa.
Vanessa’s support team is eroding fast. Vanessa placed the wedge between her and Shelli/Clay on Thursday with that big (completely unnecessary) fight, Becky knocked it in to place by telling Shelli about her plans to get out Vanessa, and John just may have rammed it home with this talk.
Move forward to round 2 as John goes to Steve. Flashback to 1:09 AM BBT as John grabs Steve and they go in to the Lounge. John catches Steve up with the same sort of information he just gave Shelli.
John advises Steve that if he gets HG Choice he needs to pick him (John). Steve asks if that means John is using it on him. No, explains John, he’ll use it on Shelli. John needs Steve to be okay with that, but Steve says he doesn’t know if he is.
Steve talks loudly, requires hushing, and keeps interrupting John as he tries to explain details to Steve. He’s trying to finish John’s sentences but keeps getting it wrong. Good grief, Steve. Just stop and listen. Grating.
After a long run of chatter the guys have relocated in the bathroom for part two of this talk. Flashback to 1:42AM BBT. John explains to Steve that he knows the “Goblins” alliance (Jackie, James, and Meg) is working with Becky to get out Vanessa, but the Goblins don’t know he knows. John worries that if word spreads that he’s on to the plan then he could be the target.
Steve wonders if Becky is lying to them, but John says Becky is telling him the truth. I don’t know why then that John is saying he doesn’t trust Becky anymore. Hmm. John then tells Steve he does trust Becky. Go figure.
Now John starts walking Steve through Vanessa’s methods. He asks Steve to run through the evictees that had a big blow-up with Vanessa. Jeff, Audrey, Day, Clay, and Jason. John points out Vanessa just staged a fight with him marking him for the next eviction.
As for the eviction plan, John feels good that Vanessa will go up as the renom. Steve wonders if they have the votes to evict her. John says with the Goblins three votes plus his then yes, they’d have enough.
John reminds Steve that the two of them and Shelli are all in the same spot. He can either join him and Shelli or stay with Vanessa. John is confident that it’ll be either him (John) or Vanessa going out the door this week. Steve is shocked and argues he’s won just one less thing than John.
It’s an interesting series of discussions for John last night. The Shelli talk felt much more focused and productive. Steve is wandering and difficult to keep on track and focused as John tries to explain the situation and what needs to be done. Makes me think Shelli and John might work better together down the road, but they’ll want to have Steve around for numbers later. If they can rely on him. I’m not so sure.
As an added bonus, jump forward to 2:40 AM BBT as Steve is alone again camtalking. He doesn’t know what to do and asks for his mom. Steve asks for her three times saying he’s made it 53 days without her, but now he doesn’t know what to do. Oh Steve. He’s trying to decide what to tell John about his other alliances.
Finally Steve decides he’ll pick John with HG Choice and then throw the Veto comp. He knows this mean he’ll stay on the Block until eviction night. Oh Steve, again.
