Welcome to Biiiig Brother! Season 27 kicks off tonight with our live recap coverage at 8PM ET when all sixteen Houseguests move in and await the Hotel Mystery reveal and we already know just what that will be! Time to get started, Big Brother 27!
The game is on for the chance at $750,000 again this season but first these HGs will have to survive the summer and the mysteries ahead. First one up, a missing host! That’s right, host Julie Chen is part of the game in a way as she is set to go missing on premiere night and the HGs will need to figure this out. Watch the clip below:

As Julie greets us from inside the house she lets us know there will be a masked visitor, a secret accomplice, that Mystery HG, and three competitions! What a night, what a night.
First group of HGs is gathered at the front of the house and soon Julie sends them in… Zach is the first through the door! He’s cursed now, right?? They explore the house and meet each other. Now it’s time for the next batch of HGs to do the same. Soon they’re all inside and the game is ready to go!
As the HGs gathered in the living room for the first time Julie reminds them to expect the… lights go out and when they come back Julie is missing from the front stage but leaving just one shoe behind. Remember that ransom letter styling when Julie first arrived on the stage? She’s been kidnapped!
The lights returned and the “Mastermind” is on the screen instead of Julie. He says they will need to complete his missions. Julie suddenly calls and says they have to find the “HOH Relic” and also find her. Each HG who does that will win an advantage. Oh boy, here comes the first competition!
8 of the HGs have to complete a bridge puzzle then listen to close to find which door is hiding Julie. Adrian is fast but Zach gambles and wins! He has rescued Julie and wins one of the advantages.
Next 8 HGs having to find the “HOH relic” by matching the right option over the imposters. They look around at clues and then grab their best guesses. It doesn’t go so well for a few of them until… Jimmy gets it right! He wins the second advantage for the upcoming HOH comp.
Julie returns to reveal that Zach wins $10,000 as his prize. Jimmy meanwhile wins the ability to pick who will be competing for HOH! Instead of everyone playing, just four HGs will compete. So if he wants to win then he’ll need to pick 3 to join him. Or he could be crazy and pick 4 others… nah! Jimmy decides he will play for HOH and selects Adrian, Ashley, and Vince to play along with him.
HOH Competition – Week 1:
Just 4 players in this one and it’s a balancing act. First HG to get their three bars to balance using the right combination of six weights will “destroy the Mastermind’s lair” to become the first Head of Household.
Vince wins HOH! He will be the first of the season.
Now back in the house, with a new HOH, Julie reveals that Vince will have to name THREE noms just like last season with the AI Arena. This year that arena will be called the “BB Blockbuster” and will be a “permanent” part of this season. Hmm, that could change at anytime…
And now we get another update from the Mastermind and here it comes again… with the news that this time he’s adding something to the game… Rachel-frickin-Reilly!! Okay, no one should be surprised. We’ve been talking about this for days now and all signs pointed to Rachel being the one to come back and here she is. It’s gonna be interesting!
“But first” we discover another twist! The Mastermind returns to announce that his accomplice is already hidden inside the house as one of the original 16 who entered and it’s not Rachel! If the other HGs unveil this accomplice then he or she will be immediately ejected from the game, but at some point, if not discovered then the accomplice becomes a full fledged HG. Hmm…
Feeds won’t start until after Sunday’s part-two of the BB27 premiere, so no spoiler updates until then unless things leak, and that’s always possible. In the meantime, we’ll keep you covered with everything we hear and then get ready for the next show on Sunday at 8/7c!
