Wednesday night’s episode of Big Brother 27 had a little bit of everything: A new alliance, smelly veto competition and a veto meeting monologue more rehearsed than Angela’s “Crazy Eyes” speech last season.
The episode picked up right after Vince made the first nominations of Big Brother 27. So Zae, Amy and Ashley are officially on the block. Vince lets us know that Amy is just a pawn and Ashley sort of talked herself on the block. And then there’s Zae, who many houseguests think is the accomplice. But now we know that was Amy, who just so happens to be on the block. So, Vince actually did put up the accomplice without knowing.
Ashley is not happy because Vince made a deal with her and Jimmy before the Head of Household competition. Vince lets Ashley know that she was so paranoid and he felt like she didn’t trust him. She brings out the tears and Vince tries his best to smooth things over. He even tells her that if he wins the veto, he will use it on her. But Ashley lets us know that she doesn’t believe anything that comes out of his mouth.
Jimmy lets us know that his goal this week is for a bro to go home first. So he starts looking around for an alliance. He has a chat with Rachel and his tune has changed on her since night one. Then he meets up with Zach and they talk about forming an alliance with Vince, Rachel, Morgan and Rylie. So that group meets at midnight to make it official. And they make it official with the name The Heavy Hitters. So to recap, Jimmy, Zach, Vince, Rachel, Morgan and Rylie are The Heavy Hitters.
Rachel is the first in that group to let us know that she has no real interest in working with them and still plans to take them out one by one. She says her only current allegiance is to The Mom Squad, which is her and Amy.
It’s time to pick players for the veto competition. Joining Vince, Ashely, Amy and Zae in the veto competition are Rachel via Amy’s houseguest’s choice and Zach. Vince lets Rachel and Zach know that he wants nominations to stay the same. Rachel tells us that he clearly doesn’t know who he’s talking to because she will always do what she wants. And Zach implies that he would want to take Zae off the block. So Vince isn’t thrilled with their reactions. So he knows if he wants nominations to stay the same he will have to win the Power of Veto himself.
Let’s get to the competition and see what’s up. For the first veto of the season, the players have to solve three crimes by checking out three different crime scenes. They then have to figure out who committed the crimes by identifying shoe prints, tire prints and really bad scents. They literally have to stick their heads in an outhouse toilet to identify one of the scents. The first person to crack the cases wins the Power of Veto.
So who solves the crimes first? Ashely pulls it off and will soon be pulling herself off the block. So what is Vince going to do? He’s definitely not happy about having to nominate a fourth person this week. And lucky for him Kelley is still dumb enough to offer herself up to him as the replacement nominee. She seems to think she’s the Tucker this season. But we will see how she does in that Blockbuster competition Thursday night if he puts her on the block.
But BB can’t let us go without another possibility so we get to see Vince having a talk with Jimmy where Jimmy mentions going after Keanu to be sure a bro goes home this week. Vince does like the idea of a bro going so it seems like Keanu is a possibility. But Jimmy lets Rachel know that Keanu is definitely the move this week and she does not like that at all, so she has a talk with Keanu to let him know that his name has been floated. Keanu tells Vince what he heard and Vince gets upset at Jimmy for running with that idea and acting like he’s the HOH. Vince puts all the blame on Jimmy to Keanu and lets us know that maybe he will just go for Jimmy to let him know he isn’t running the show. And then Keanu goes to Vince and suggests putting Jimmy up. Keanu also tells Ava that Jimmy is the head of the snake and would like to see him go up and out this week. Ava tells Jimmy right away, and of course he’s not happy.
So let’s see which direction Vince takes.
At the veto meeting, Ashley of course removes herself from the block and Vince takes Kelley up on her offer and puts her next to Amy and Zae on the block. But Jimmy speaks up and calls out Keanu before the meeting adjourns. Jimmy clearly rehearsed his speech, but it was Keanu with the question “How long did it take you to come up with that?” that really won that battle.
