Last night on Big Brother 16 we saw an extended scene from just before Frankie Grande was voted out of the game featuring a “Grande sized” claim. Frankie suggested that he was not only the best player in the house, but was also about to become the most powerful player in the Jury. But will he?
Once Derrick did his weekly Jury Management routine of informing Frankie of his pending eviction we saw Frankie try what might either be a last ditch effort to stay or a bitter parting threat to the HGs.
Gathered in the HoH room Caleb, Cody, Derrick, and Frankie exchanged barbs as their attempt to let him down easy turned unpleasant. Well, Derrick actually managed to stay positive and avoid the lobbed verbal grenades as he was wise to do. The rest of them though? Well, read what was said.
Only 1 week to go… for Big Brother fans that means the long cold winter is next, and anticipation for Big Brother 17 will grow for the next 9 months. Sure we have shows like Survivor, Amazing Race, Top Chef, Big Brother Canada, as well as a plethora of scripted TV shows to get us through, but no show will ever top Big Brother for fan excitement & interaction. Before all that though, we have to see who gets the big check, who gets the little check, and who goes home with nothing (like me!!!).
For the record – if you read my Final 4 Preview on Tuesday, I correctly predicted that Derrick would win the HoH, and Caleb would be sent packing. While Caleb may not have been the brains of the bunch (even he joked about that with Julie) – he brought us plenty of funny moments during the season (Judy Chops??) and was a Beast in competitions. His blind loyalty is what made him a desirable ally for the Hitmen, and they had their chance several times to get him out – but used him accordingly to do their dirty work, and like everyone else before them, was sent packing.
Speaking of the Hitmen – I think it was a baaaaaaad move for Cody to out the Hitmen on national TV. The last 2 people that went home, Frankie & Caleb, now head to the Jury house to tell their tales of woe to the rest of them. We got to see a little bit of the Frankie mini meltdown when he told Caleb, Derrick, and Cody that he would go to the jury house and be the one to “decide who wins the game.” He actually did have a point, but at the time he was upset at them and came off a little cocky. When he gets there – along with Caleb and they all start comparing notes, I feel like they will applaud the Hitmen’s actions – but not Cody’s tact.
Big Brother is in its homestretch as the Final Three Houseguests look ahead to the season finale next Wednesday, but before they get there we’ve got a few more competitions. Here’s how those will work.
The Final HoH round of the season is unique in that there are three individual competitions without any sort of nominations or Power of Veto involved. Those two elements are retired for the season. The three competition rounds typically follow a pattern which we can reliably expect again this season.
Round 1 of the Final HoH is an endurance competition where all three HGs face off. The winner of Round 1 is guaranteed a seat in the third round competition and sits out the second round.
This season’s endurance portion actually took place last night following the live eviction show. Cody, Derrick, and Victoria held on to mock hang gliders while standing with their backs against the infamous “Wall” as it did its best to toss them to the ground and out of the race. Check out our full recap of the competition which was available to watch on the Live Feed and find out who won Round 1.
Round 2 of the competitions features the two losing HGs from the first round. Typically we see a physical based memory challenge where the competitors must recall the season’s events in a certain sequence. The physical element could be climbing like last season or even underwater as in other past seasons (don’t throw your goggles off and away!).
The winner of the second competition secures the other seat in the third and final HoH round. He or she will then face off against the first round’s winner in a potentially high-stakes competition.
What a great week of Big Brother this week! I keep thinking what would the outcome have been had the houseguests not hit that big wonderful golden button? But thank God they did! We saw Frankie’s eviction on Tuesday night but we actually got to see some more footage on Wednesdays live show and all I gotta say is, “yikes!”
The guys tell Frankie he is going to Jury and all of a sudden he turns into Castro telling them that they making a mistake because he will decide the winner of the game. I am very proud of how Caleb and Cody stood up for themselves and didn’t let him belittle them. No matter who is related to who, no matter where you are from, no matter what religion, sex, nationality, or etc. you are, we are ALL equals in this world and I’m glad they didn’t let the whole “status” intimidation factor effect their decisions.
And I am not leaving Derrick out because I’m saying he was intimidated I’m just leaving his name out because he kind of stayed out of the conversation but did tell Frankie he had respect for him as a player and kind of just left it at that which is a good route to take. BYE FRANKIE!!!
We see Derrick’s post HOH win and he gets some Hollas from some Jury members and gets to hear his little girl give him a Holla. I’m happy that he got to hear her because I am sure he is missing her. I guess that’s just an extra HOH bonus and I am happy that he got that. We get to see Derrick talk to the other three players and he has Caleb, Cody, and Victoria all fooled into believing they are his number ones in the house. He even convinced Caleb that he volunteered to go on the block which he did but Derrick completely manipulated him into volunteering.
It was a weird night in the Big Brother 16 house and on the Live Feeds without Caleb and Frankie, but luckily we got to watch the first part of the HOH play out. Find out what else happened on the Big Brother Feeds in the house yesterday.
Big Brother 16 Live Feed Highlights – Wednesday, September 17, 2014:
Following the Big Brother 16 live eviction on Wednesday night where the F4 became the Final Three we saw those HGs head outside for the always fun final endurance comp of the season and oh yes, it was the much feared “Wall” competition.
Since there’s no “outgoing HoH” at this point Derrick was able to compete in their very slick looking hang gliding themed comp. All three were perched up on a small foot platform with a hand rail above them.
The entire wall behind them would tilt forward dipping them toward the ground. Plus, there was lots of nice cold water thrown at them. See a full recap with pics & times from the endurance comp.
So who pulled off the first round win? Read on for the spoilers.
