Big Brother 20 Episode 16 Recap: Rachel Shifts The Target Onto Herself

This week in the Big Brother 20 game Rachel when on the block as a pawn. All she really had to do was lay low and try to win veto. She failed at both and ended the week as the likely target, at least for her side of the house.

Wednesday night’s episode picks up after Bayleigh nominated Rachel and Brett. Rachel isn’t handling it well at all. She knows she’s not the target, but she’s still making a big deal out of it as she goes off in tears and won’t even hug anyone after the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Faysal tells JC that he is the reason JC didn’t go on the block this week and thanks JC should be more grateful to him. JC goes to tell Bayleigh that Faysal said he changed her mind nominating JC as a pawn. She says that’s not true and that she’s a big girl and can make her own decisions. And she tells us that Fessy is really getting on her nerves. She’s so upset she actually goes and wakes him up to tell him that wasn’t cool. She tells him he made it look like he’s ordering her around.

Tyler is happy he wasn’t nominated but needs to make sure he isn’t in the pool to be a replacement nominee. He goes to figure out what Bayleigh has in mind this week if the veto is used and she tells him he’s not a backdoor option.

Joining Bayleigh, Brett and Rachel in the veto competition are Sam, JC and Tyler. The veto competition has the houseguests completing a road puzzle, to pave a road so they can give the four evicted HGs a ride across town. The player who gets it down fastest will win the power of veto. A couple of the players struggled to finish in the 30 minutes, including Rachel, who basically gave up when she saw her time ticking down.

Veto times:

Rachel: 30:00
Bayleigh: 14:24
Brett: 10:59
JC: 30:00
Sam: 30:00
Tyler: 6:54

So Tyler wins the Power of Veto. Bayleigh tells him she wants him to keep the nominees the same. But he wants to use it on Brett, so he gets to work finding out who would go up if he used the veto. He asks her what she would do if someone used a power to come off the block. She said Angela would go up, so Tyler starts trying to push Scottie as a nominee instead. He does that by telling her that Scottie is his only friend in the house so if he use the veto, she nominates Scottie as retaliation.

Bayleigh tells Rachel that Tyler Angela’s name out there, so Rachel flips out and tells Angela, who doesn’t even believe it. Angela goes to Kaycee and she also doesn’t believe it. Which is good for Tyler, because Tyler didn’t say that at all. As we just saw he wants Scottie on the block to save both members of Level 6 this week. But Angela thinks it’s Rachel who is making stuff up and starts to lose trust in her biggest ally.

Kaycee asks Tyler about everything and he tells her that it got completely twisted. Tyler goes to Angela and clears things up and Angela decides she doesn’t want Rachel to stay in the game.

Rachel then continues to tank her game and tells Angela about Bayleigh’s power. Angela then tells Tyler, who then knows that if he makes Bayleigh mad, he could be in trouble with that power. So there’s no way he’s using the veto this week and Rachel did that to herself.

So it comes as no surprise at the veto meeting when Tyler decides not to use the Power of Veto. Rachel and Brett remain on the block and Rachel’s fate could very well already be sealed.
