Big Brother 27: The Best And Worst Moments of Week 2

Big Brother 27 Week 2 is officially wrapped up and so far, so good, I must say. There have been a few misses, but a whole lot more hits so far. So as we wait for Week 3 to get under way with a new Head of Household and nominations, let’s take a look back at the second week of BB27.

Best: We Finally Got Opening Credits

I don’t know why it annoys me so much when Big Brother doesn’t show opening credits since I normally skip them for any other show I watch (unless I’m watching old episodes of Twin Peaks – that theme song stays on). But I get really annoyed when BB doesn’t show an opening. So when we were six episodes in before we saw the opening, I was certain we weren’t even going to get any. I thought we got an opening during BB22 Covid Stars so surely there’s one for BB27. And we did. And it was actually really cool. I am a big fan of the ransom note letters.

Worst: Too Many Powers

It was only week 2 and there were already FIVE powers in the game. Jimmy, Zach, Keanu, Kelley and Morgan have all gotten powers. Jimmy used his when he got to pick who competed in HOH week 1. Keanu used his during this week’s veto comp and Kelley used hers after the veto ceremony. Zach and Morgan still have theirs, but because of all those powers, Jimmy had to nominate a total of five people this week. And if that doesn’t tank someone’s game what will … Why not give out a power a week. Or here’s a thought: NO POWERS. Just let them play Big Brother for crying out loud.

Best: The Veto Draw

Usually veto draws are simple and boring. But this week Keanu got to unleash his power that brought Kaycee back in the game. And he and Jimmy exchanged some words. But it was Ashley who really got heated after Keanu told the entire house he was going to pick them off one by one. All this drama and it’s only week 2. I hope that means we are in for a whole lot more drama this season.

Worst: Jimmy’s Nominees

Jimmy likes to talk a big game, but when Keanu took himself off the block with Kaycee’s veto, Jimmy nominated Amy. And then when Kelley won her secret veto and took herself off, he nominated Will. Who in their right mind would want Amy, Will or even Adrian go to home on their HOH? Adrian would have been a good move since he is sort of just waiting for his BB game to kick into gear. But there was a really good chance he was going to win the Block Buster competition, so sending out Amy or Will is a total wasted HOH in my opinion.

Best: Adrian wins the Block Buster

I felt like it was way too soon for Adrian to go home since he’s a super fan. We haven’t even gotten a chance to see him flop like most super fans do! I kid, I kid. But really, it just felt wrong to see someone who built their own wall comp at home to go home in week 2 for and for no good reason.

Worst: Amy Gives Up

What you didn’t directly see on Wednesday night’s episode was that Amy gave up and told everyone to vote her out if she was still on the block when it came time to vote. I hate when players do that. So weak. Literally thousands and thousands of other people would have loved to have her spot. And that also gave us a unanimous vote and unanimous votes are so boring! You could tell she had given up on the episode because she didn’t bother campaigning and just hugged Rachel goodbye the whole time. Now who’s the weanie, Amy?

Best Move of the Week: Mickey Keeps Her Power To Herself, Moslty

This wasn’t a week of very good moves, but I have to commend Mickey for not spilling her guts to the entire house about her power. She told Morgan and Zach knows she has something because he was standing by her when she claimed her power in the darkened HOH competition. But only she and Morgan know what the power does. She didn’t even tell Jimmy who she and Morgan are aligned with. But they’re both over Jimmy at this point for not including them in any of his HOH decisions.

Worst Move of the Week: Jimmy’s entire HOH reign (tie)

Jimmy was so focused on Keanu he didn’t have any kid of backup target. That’s how he ended up sending out one of the weakest players in the game. He sent home the perpetual pawn. And sure it might look like it weakened Rachel, but did it really? How beneficial even was she to Rachel? Not very if you ask me.

Worst Move of the Week: Keanu’s Threat (tie)

That was definitely an entraining veto draw, but what kind of dumb dumb tells the entire house you’re going to take him out one-by-one WHILE YOU ARE ON THE BLOCK. It’s like he’s trying to get sent home ASAP.
