The second week of Big Brother 27 is coming to a close, so that means it’s once again time to see how the players are stacking up with our second Power Rankings of the season.
As always, I will be looking at all aspects of the game: skill, position, comp prowess and social game. And always removed from the formula is my personal feelings on the players. So let’s get to it.
1. Rachel ▲
I’m going to just go ahead and put Rachel in first place this week. I know she’s going to be the target very soon, but the house was wide open to get her out this week and she’s sitting pretty this Thursday night. And if Rachel pulls out an HOH win, a lot of people will start regretting letting her stick around. Her strong social positioning and the respect she commands earned her this top spot. Even if it’s just for one week. Last Ranking: 2
2. Ava ▲
This girl might just find herself at then end of the game if she keeps on playing as she has so far. She’s no comp beast by any means, but her talent of blending socially while keeping a low profile is pretty impressive. That gives a hefty leap up in this week’s rankings. Last Ranking: 5
3. Mickey ▶
Despite keeping a relatively low profile in the early weeks, Mickey is quietly positioning herself as a strong long-term contender in the game. Her social game is subtle but effective. She listens more than she talks, avoids unnecessary drama, and keeps key players close without overcommitting. And she of course has that HOH overthrow power in her back pocket. Last Ranking: 3
4. Morgan ▲
Right now Morgan and Mickey are playing the same game, and since they’re aligned, this could really turn into a formidable duo. Morgan may not be flashy, but that’s exactly what’s keeping her safe, and setting her up for a deep run. he’s mastered the art of flying under the radar while staying firmly in the loop. Socially, she’s connected with the right people, but she’s careful not to overexpose herself or come off as too controlling. Last Ranking: 6
5. Kelley ▲
Making the biggest leap this week, Kelley goes from 17th all the way to 5th. As I mentioned at the start of this, I take all aspects of the game into account. And while Kelley is playing a truly wacky game, she’s also in a better position than several others. So pair all that with her competition wins, she’s got plenty of power points this week. Of course those comp wins that earned her the points to break into the Top 5 this week could also be her downfall. If she’s seen as a comp threat, she could become a target. Or she could become a perpetual pawn and used to bust the Block Buster competition. She did say she wanted to play Tucker’s game. I guess she’s not too far off currently. But would she risk it for the biscuit? Probably. Last Ranking: 17
6. Zach ▼
Zach is positioned well and seems to not be anyone’s main focus at the moment. And he still has that power he won Week 1. If he finds himself still on the block after a veto ceremony, this power allows Zach to give a current HOH the $10,000 and force them to nominate someone else. So his positioning and secret power makes him still a top tier player at this moment. He ONLY dropped this week because he had no major action in the game this week. Last Ranking: 1
7. Vince ▲
Vince managed to not become the second week target after being the first HOH. That has been a pretty common theme lately. Vince has managed to align himself with nearly everyone in the house while remaining pretty unassuming. The fact that he’s covered by almost everyone is pretty impressive, but ONLY if he can maintain it. People could easily figure out that he’s tied to everyone and see how dangerous that is. Last Ranking: 10
8. Will ▼
Like Vince, Will is also covered pretty well in the game. His ability to float strategically across group lines helps him stay adaptable and informed. Will has the potential to be a true floater and find himself deep in the game. That is IF he can survive the block this week. His ranking plummeted this week because of his nomination and the strong possibility that he could go home. Last Ranking: 4
9. Rylie ▲
I am really not sure what to think of Rylie. He’s definitely also playing that floater game by playing both sides as he did last week and plans to do again this week. That will eventually catch up to him, I think, because he doesn’t seem to be crafty enough to keep that kind of game up. But so far he’s pretty solid in the game. Last Ranking: 12
10. Lauren ▼
Lauren is laying a little too low for me, but she lands in at No. 10 because she’s not seen as a threat and has some strong bonds regardless of how early in the game it is. She does drop some this week for putting all her eggs in Lauren’s basket who let us know in Wednesday’s episode that Lauren is not a person she would want to take to the end because she’s afraid she’d lose to her in the vote. Last Ranking: 7
11. Katherine ▶
Katherine holds steady at 11th this week because she’s currently just sort of there. She’s got herself covered but it’s starting to come out that several people in the house don’t like her. And those people are in better spots currently, so Katherine could become an easy target for them if they come into power. Last Ranking: 11
12. Ashley ▼
Ashley drops this week because she’s playing a rather messy game. While that is very entertaining for TV, her outspokenness and attitude won’t work in a game like Big Bother. I don’t think she’s really anyone’s top choice to work with right now, other than Amy, and Amy could be walking out the door this week. Ashely should probably try laying a little lower for a bit. Last Ranking: 9
13. Adrian ▼
Adrian dips to 13th because he’s just sort of existing right now. And he’s also a nominee this week and that seemed to really mess with him. He hasn’t done well campaigning and could easily go home tonight if he doesn’t win the Block Buster competition. I know he planned to lay low at first, but as a super fan, he’s just perfuming as someone in his current situation should. Last Ranking: 8
14. Jimmy ▲
I really struggled with where to rank Jimmy because he is the current Head of Household and has performed well in comps (up until this week’s veto blunder). But his HOH has been messy, but that’s not all his fault. All these powers and twists have forced Jimmy to nominate a total of five people this week. That is never good for anyone’s game. And he isn’t great at being in an alliance. His allies are not happy with him this week because he just did what he wanted without consulting them or even filling them in on his plans. So Jimmy doesn’t have a very clear path going forward. Last Ranking: 16
15. Amy ▲
Amy could be going home tonight. She probably will. And if she doesn’t she’ll just keep being an easy nominee for the next HOH and the next. She’s just not being taken very seriously, and the fact that she is tethered to Rachel seems to be hindering her game even more. Last Ranking: 14
16. Keanu ▼
Keanu might have used the veto on himself this week, but he didn’t win it. He lost it big time by being eliminated for a false start. And he hasn’t done well in any competition yet. And to tell everyone in the house he’s going to pick them off one-by-one while he’s sitting on the block? Funny as hell, but a terrible idea. He’s just got the whole house against him at this point. Well, not the whole house. He still has allies, but they are starting to see him as a liability. Last Ranking: 13
