Sunday night’s episode of Big Brother 27 gave us a new Head of Household and three new powers unleashed in the game.
Jimmy is the new Head of Household, but his week will not be an easy one because in the same completion that won him the HOH key, Keanu, Kelley and Mickey each won some pretty hefty secret powers.
The episode picks up right after Zae’s eviction. And Zach is embarrassingly in tears. He knew Zae for one week. I think Rachel cried less the two times she saw Brendon evicted.
Rylie then explains to us why he voted to evict Zae. He says that he knew Zae was toast and he made the decision to help protect himself with Amy and Rachel while keeping the Burger Boys alliance in his corner. That’s what you call a true BB floater. And that’s a legit strategy, so I am definitely not knocking it. Just calling it what it is (and the true definition at that).
And after Rylie lets Amy and Rachel know he voted with them, Amy has the votes against her figured out exactly. Jimmy, Rachel, Amy and Ashley know there has been a line drawn in the sand and the house is headed for a divide. Jimmy says one of them needs to win HOH this week so they can target one of the people who voted to evict Amy.
Meanwhile, Keanu thinks that Will was the unexpected vote to evict Zae because Will thinks that the other vote was Kelley. And Rylie doesn’t plan on admitting it was him to the boys and Kelley. Adrian lets Will know that Keanu thinks he didn’t vote to evict Zae. And he charges off to address the allegations. But Adrian talks him down a bit from confronting Keanu. And then Adrian and Will start wondering if Keanu was the vote. Rylie is still in the clear. For now.
And just when I was wondering when the HOH comp was going to start, an alarm goes off in the house and lights start flashing. Vince lets the houseguests know that the house has been broken into and some things have been stolen — the HOH key and three secret powers that were hidden in the safe. And for the HOH competition, they have to scour the BB sewers to find the HOH key or one of the powers. Even Vince can compete to find the mystery powers but not the HOH key. This is basically the black box competition amplified. They have to dredge through muck in the pitch black darkness to hunt down the stolen items.
Keanu finds a power first, which means he claimed that and can no longer claim the HOH key. Jimmy then finds a key shape and goes to see if it’s the correct shape to win HOH. When he makes it back to the slot to enter the key, it fits. Jimmy is the new Head of Household! But two powers still remain to be found.
Mickey finds the second power and Kelley claims the third one. And Jimmy gets to work trying to find out what those powers are. He already knows Kelley has one because he helped her place the prize into the slot. But the others aren’t telling him.
Keanu goes to the DR to find out his power. He won the chance to invoke a “mystery competitor.” That means a past houseguest can come back and play for him in the veto competition, doubling his chances at winning the veto. So if they win the veto, he wins the veto.
Kelley finds out she won a mystery veto power. When she wants to use her power, she has to play a solo competition which earns her a veto that she can use after the regular veto meeting. This is like the janky veto that Leah could have won last season.
And finally Mickey goes to find out her power is the “HOH Interrogation.” She can dethrone the HOH and take over their reign. But the HOH gets to interrogate everyone and if they guess the HOH stealer, they get to keep their HOH. If they guess wrong, the thief becomes HOH and has to announce they are officially the new HOH. So it won’t be a secret power.
Jimmy gets to work on finding out the powers and deciding who he’s going to nominate this week. He tells Kelley that his target is Keanu and she basically volunteers to go up again. And he tells Adrian that he is considering him to be a pawn also. And Adrian is not willing to volunteer like Kelley.
So let’s get to the nomination ceremony and find out his final decisions. He nominates Keanu, Kelley and Adrian. And he tells Keanu that he is the target. And Keanu pretends to fall asleep.
