Big Brother 22 Episode 21 Recap: Zingbot Returns Once Again

Zingbot made his annual appearance Wednesday night, offering up zings for the remaining Big Brother 22 All-Stars.

Ahead of Zingbot’s visit, we join the houseguests right after the nomination ceremony. Memphis lets us know that he nominated Da’Vonne and Kevin because he needed two easy people to put up so he can work on backdooring David.

Memphis lets Kevin know that he had to look for any excuse this week, and the fact that Da’Vonne used the veto on him, it gave him an easy out for nominations.

Meanwhile, Dani and Cody pretend like Da’Vonne is only on the block because she used the veto last week – as if there were any other options for Memphis since only three people aren’t in the alliance or sub-alliance.

For this week’s veto competition, joining Memphis, Da’Vonne and Kevin are Tyler, Nicole (via Da’Vonne’s HG choice) and Dani (via Dani’s HG choice).

Tyler lets us know that Da’Vonne and Kevin making those picks confirms his suspicions that Dani and Nicole have been working on a side deal with them.  And that’s not totally untrue. Both Dani and Nicole are more loyal to the commission, but they still want Da’Vonne to stick around.

Memphis tells Dani, Nicole and Tyler he wants them to throw the competition so he, Da’Vonne or Kevin can win the veto for him to backdoor David. But Tyler wants to put a stop to that. He thinks backdooring David is a stupid move.

After that meeting, Memphis lets Da’Vonne and Kevin know his plan as well.

Tyler runs to Cody, like everyone always does, to let him know that Memphis’ plan is to backdoor David. And Cody agrees with Tyler that this is a stupid plan and Da’Vonne and Kevin are bigger threats than David. Cody tells Tyler not to throw the veto.

Ahead of veto competition, Zingbot stops by. They houseguests head outside to find Zingbot, or Tiger Zing, up on the ledge/balcony of the house. This season, it’s a take on “Tiger King.” I guess Zingbot is no longer president.

Most of the zings aren’t very high caliber, but Nicole’s … that one was great. It was sung to the tune of Here Comes the Bride. “Nicole I wrote a song for you – Here comes the bride, she loves to whine and cry, every time I hear her voice I want to f***ing die! Mazel Tov!”

After the zings, Zingbot gets the veto competition under way. For this week’s challenge, the players have to maneuver a maze to track down three “alien tigers.” The person who finishes the challenge in the fastest time wins the Power of Veto.

This wasn’t a very fun or exciting veto competition to watch, so there’s not really anything to write about, so let’s just get to the results.

The times:

  • Kevin – 5:33
  • Memphis – 3:29
  • Dani – 3:41
  • Nicole – 4:22
  • Da’Vonne – 6:53
  • Tyler – 2:55

Tyler wins the Power of Veto. And Memphis is not happy.

Memphis still wants Tyler to use the veto on one of the nominees so he can backdoor David, but Tyler resists until Memphis agrees that Da’Vonne or Kevin going is as good an option.

At the veto ceremony, we actually get the hear the speeches for the first time in forever. Da’Vonne gives a scathing speech letting everyone know that she thinks this is all theatrics and BS and knows Tyler isn’t going to use the veto anyway. And she’s right that last part. He does not use the veto and Da’Vonne and Kevin remain nominees.
