Big Brother 18 House Tour With Julie Chen [PICS]

The Big Brother 18 house was leaked more than two weeks ago by ET, but now we’re getting the official photos and the guided tour by Big Brother host Julie Chen. Not only that but we’ve got details on how this theme actually will tie in to the season’s twists.

Typically the house is designed far in advance and has little to nothing to do with the game at hand. Not the case this time. Executive producers Grodner and Meehan have revealed that parts of the house will associate themselves with the theme of the summer.

Let’s see what we’ve got here. The house looks awesome with an international, destination theme to it and there are lots of planes and even plan parts in the mix. Grodner calls it a “high-end airport terminal.” Hmm, sounds fancy.

Big Brother 18 kitchen:

The new kitchen layout is just what you’d expect, but unlike some recent seasons we’ve got a normal fridge and even a microwave unlike one season. Plenty of setting around the island and breakfast bar. Also note there are twelve seats at the table and the Memory Wall, though THR reported they saw 16 settings at the table during their visit.

Big Brother 18 backyard:

Check out the new pool! The separate hot tub is gone and merged with a new cement pool in the corner. Execs say it’s about the same size as the old. Good and bad with that move.

Big Brother 18 bathroom:

All that sand, that terrible sand. Well, it’s gone. What we saw in Julie’s tour with ET is no more for these pics. Or maybe they hadn’t put it in yet and we’ll see it still. Let’s hope not.

Big Brother 18 bedrooms:

Very cool themes for the bedroom. The British room won’t get as dark anymore though with glass doors through the phone booth. That also means you can be spotted if you’re sitting in the wrong spot for your strategy talks.

Big Brother 18 living areas:

Photo booth is gone from the Lounge. They had started to phase that out anyway. Won’t be terribly missed. The huge Departures sign is pretty neat. Maybe they’ll tinker with the words up there for some game messages.

Big Brother 18 upstairs:

Love the new HoH room design. Fish tank for the headboard is very neat and could be what we end up seeing for the Feed Fish. They also covered up the floor in the second level so you’re not as exposed from below.

Speaking with THR, Allison Grodner explained how the house would be part of the game itself:

It’s more than just a house theme. This is all part of the twist that’s going to unfold over the summer. Twists, plural, actually. A few of them will be announced on opening night, and many more to come.

Here you are in the living room which is the terminal of an airport. That board is the departure board and you will see on opening night what we got there. It has meaning.

Sounds like production has plenty of its sleeves for the season. What do you think of the new Big Brother 18 house design and theme? Would you want to spend the summer here?
