Big Brother Now On Chromecast With CBS All Access

Starting with Big Brother 17 you’ll be able to watch the series on your Chromecast device coupled with CBS All Access giving us another way to keep tabs on our Big Brother 17 cast this summer.

As a new feature for CBS All Access, the online streaming service for Live Feeds and Big Brother episodes, users can now stream Big Brother content from their devices connected to Chromecast (available on Amazon: under $30). This follows CBS’s previous announcement of support for Roku devices with their streaming content giving us another way to feed our BB addiction.

If you missed the previous announcements, CBS All Access is going to be the new home for the Feeds on Big Brother 17. This generally seems to be good news primarily because the price of Feeds just dropped to $5.99/month while CBS added a stack of new features with your subscription.

We’ve asked for more details on the possibility of streaming Big Brother Live Feeds on Chromecast and Roku and will keep you updated on what will work with each of the devices. Hopefully this means we’ll be able to watch the Live Feeds on Roku or Chromecast, but we’ll have to wait and see what CBS says.

To watch Big Brother on Chromecast download the Google Cast extension for Chrome, make sure you’re on the same wireless network as your Chromecast device, and click the Cast button in the CBS video player. Voila.

All Access (Free Trial) reminds me of the SuperPass method from a few years ago with the way it is bundled in with a lot of extras. This is a year round service that has all the CBS shows, not just Big Brother, with new and old shows archived online plus All Access gives you the live TV streams from certain markets if you’re lucky enough to live there. It’s perfect for the “cord cutters” out there.

When Big Brother 17 premieres in late June, you’ll need a subscription to All Access to watch inside the house and enjoy the Big Brother Feeds. Join us on Facebook, Twitter, and by Email for the latest BB17 spoilers and updates all summer long.

  1. Bear with me b/c I’m trying to understand how this is working. The cost of Live Feeds this year has dropped to $5.99/month from the $9.99/month it was in the past, correct? In that case, will CBS still offer the full season Feed subscription at a discounted rate for those of us who don’t feel the need to watch the CBS archives 24/7 outside of BB?? Just wondering since the Season-long subscription is ALWAYS discounted, especially if you order them early enough & through one of you wonderful bloggers! Thanks. : )

    • It’s possible they’ll have an extended trial offer in the run up to the season, but I don’t expect another price drop since it used to be about 20% off with an Early Bird sale and now they’ve dropped things 40% already.

Since the price has dropped so much I’m not really sure we’re paying extra for the archived shows. We’re paying less and getting more this time around which is a nice change.

I also don’t really expect a 3-month package to be offered. I’m guessing they’ll just have the monthly service available then you’ll cancel at the end of the season. Or maybe they’ll offer a 3-month sign up but it’ll still need to be cancelled (like SuperPass did years back).

This is all speculation because CBS hasn’t given me any details. I’ve asked about how they’ll handle the Early Bird, if they’re doing something for it at all, but they weren’t ready to discuss. I’ll definitely keep you posted though through updates on the site.

Thanks for thinking of us for your Feeds sign-up! It really does make a huge difference and we appreciate your support.

      • Thanks for responding, Matt! I know ya’ll do A LOT of hard work during the season to keep us updated on things we may have missed, even WITH the Feeds, so it’s really important to me to make sure you get even a little something back for all that!!

Figures that CBS would roll something out without planning for the inevitable questions about season-long subscriptions – they think we’re all sheep who will just get their free trial then never turn it off. Some will definitely do that, but I’m not spending $$ that I don’t have, so I’m always going to do my homework. Ha ha
I’ll keep checking back for updates as we get closer to the Premiere.
        Thanks again! : ))

  2. Trying to connect my live feed through Chromecast. Was it ever set up to be viewed that way? I have a Samsung smart TV that freezes when I try to watch the feeds through the web on it. Wanted to see if it was worth it to get another Chromecast for that TV. Thanks
