The Big Brother 27 houseguests have been playing the game for three weeks now, so most of them have found their place in the house. Some more so than others. Let’s take a look at how the players stack up with our third Power Rankings of BB27.
As always, I will be looking at all aspects of the game: skill, position, comp prowess and social game. And always removed from the formula is my personal feelings on the players. So let’s get to it.
1. Ava โฒ
She moves to the top spot this week as she continues to sit back and observe and connect with everyone in the house socially. Right now Ava is positioned so nicely because no one sees her as a threat and everyone likes her. That makes her one of the most powerful (and dangerous) players in the game currently. Last Ranking: 2
2. Mickey โฒ
Much like Ava, Mickey has been keeping a pretty low profile but has her fingers on the pulse of the game. She has everyone figured out and also has herself pretty protected. Not to mention she has that HOH overthrow power still in her bag. That gives her a lot of power. It just has to be played correctly, of course. Last Ranking: 3
3. Vince โฒ
He jumps this week because it became very clear right now that he is running the game. He’s covered at all angles in the house. But he’s too covered and that’s going to catch up to him. It already has with Rachel and Ashley. They’re very aware that Vince has everyone under his thumb. But what I find impressive about that is very few people realize it. Vince is pretty unassuming and not abrasive as past players that found themselves in his position. So I think he’s smarter about it and if he can some how get rid of the few people who are onto him, he’s got a great shot at getting deep into the game. Last Ranking: 7
4. Morgan โถ
If Mickey is No. 2, then Morgan is No. 4. She would have been No. 3 if Vince hadn’t edged her out this week. Morgan is one of those players that is going to be hard to stop when she finally lets herself loose in the game. But she hasn’t done that yet, like many other have. And that’s smart. A lot of people are playing like that so far this season, so it’s going to be fun when they’re all left to finally face each other and make some real moves. Last Ranking: 4
5. Rachel โผ
Rachel is playing a very different game this time around. It might have something to do with the fact that she’s older and calmer, or it might just be that she’s not gotten the chance to really play yet. Or it could be all of those things. But I am for certain, this is not the same Rachel. Of course she knows the game of Big Brother and has gotten through three weeks of this game safely, despite being a two-time player and one-time winner of the game. That’s why she was No. 1 last week. But this week it’s really starting to show that this is not the kind of cast that is going to keep overlooking her. And she started talking to the wrong people this week about her concerns with Vince. And Vince, as you see above, is pretty powerful right now. Rachel doesn’t really care who knows what she thinks though. But she might want to start caring if she no longer has that competition prowess she once had. Last Ranking: 1
6. Zach โถ
Zach remains as no one’s main focus at the moment. And he’s close to everyone who has any kind of pull in the house. If you let a player like Zach get past weeks 3 or 4, it’s going to be harder and harder to get him. And he’s still got that power that allows him to pay off the HOH to nominate someone else after a veto ceremony. That’s a huge power if he saves it for himself. Last Ranking: 6
7. Rylie โฒ
I have no idea why no one’s concerned with Rylie. It might be because he’s just kind of there. He’s having the Big Brother experience I always dream about where I’m on the show, but they never show me in episodes and I never made any sort of impression on anyone. He’s just very mid-road right now. It’s very strange and I had no idea if I should put him here or not. Last Ranking: 9
8. Lauren โฒ
The current HOH climbs this week, but only because she is HOH and will likely be pretty protected after this week. Her nominations will only backfire on her if Will stays this week. Adrian or Kelley aren’t going to go after her, but Will is very upset and might. So this might be the one week Lauren gets to climb the rankings. Last Ranking: 10
9. Katherine โฒ
I’m going to just go ahead and put Katherine below her because Katherine is only truly liked by Lauren and Rylie. So she’s not in a great spot on her own, but she’s connected to the right people currently and can play off the fact that there are bigger fish to fry than her. Last Ranking: 11
10. Ashley โฒ
I decided to bump Ashley up because she is very smart and knows what’s going on in the game. She hasn’t been able to shake that Week 1 diva moment though. She doesn’t have a ton of fans in the house, but she’s slowly been pulling herself out of mess she got in right after the game started. It would be fun to see her in actual power to see how she handles it and if would be good or bad for her game. Last Ranking: 12
11. Jimmy โฒ
Jimmy pulls himself up in this week’s rankings because he sat back as much as someone like Jimmy can, and despite being the Week 2 HOH managed to not make everyone in the house so angry that he is the next big target. I am actually shocked that he’s in an OK position. No one is going to let him get too deep into the game, but right now he’s more than fine, I think. He would be ranked higher if his HOH had resulted in anything other than Amy’s eviction. She was a non-threat and getting her out did not weaken Rachel, because Rachel is so alone in the game as it is, what was Amy going to do? She wasn’t going to carry. So yeah, his HOH was a flop. As have been all three reigns so far. Last Ranking: 14
12 Will โผ
Will drops this week because he has a very strong chance at going home. And he did not handle his nomination well and made it known publicly that he was not happy. That’s not a good move. It is exactly how I would have reacted, but when you have to try to not get voted out, it’s never smart to act up after you’ve just been nominated – when you’re not even the target. But he’s still very well-liked in the house, but he could just become a casualty of the game this week because Lauren made stupid nominations. Last Ranking: 8
13. Adrian โถ
I don’t think Adrian is a bottom tier player at all. But I can’t put him any higher because he’s now in that small nomination pool that modern Big Brother Heads of Household think they have to choose from. I have no idea why that is the new thing – repeat nominations just so no one new has to touch the block week after week. But I think Adrian has a good shot at winning the Block Buster competition again, which might not help him get out of that nom pool as he’ll probably be seen as someone the HOH can nominate since he’s good at Block Buster comps. Last Ranking: 13
14. Keanu โฒ
Keanu moves up slightly because he won the Power of Veto and took himself off the block. And he’s maybe kind of trying to rebuild his social game. It depends on the next HOH whether or not he’ll still remain the house target, so I was not ready to put him any higher than this for now. Last Ranking: 16
15. Kelley โผ
And we’ve got Kelley at the bottom, back where she belongs. Last week I thought she was in the Top 5 because of her competition wins and how she might be playing so wacky that she would be seen as a non-threat and someone who might always volunteer to go up on the block. But this week it has become more clear that she’s not well-liked in the house and the one person who I think does actually like her – Vince – has made it pretty clear that out of all his deals and alliances, Kelley might be the easiest one to cut loose if he’s forced to choose between allies. She’s just playing a weird and uncomfortable game. Last Ranking: 5
