Punishments and rising tension took center stage on Big Brother 27 Wednesday night, as cracks formed between allies and the veto went unused for the first time this season.
The episode picks up after the nomination ceremony, which ended with Keanu, Vince, and Zach on the block. Keanu is used to being on the block at this point. Vince, however, is not handling it well. Zach is angry too, but heโs channeling his frustration more strategically than Vince.
Zach pulls Ava aside to ask why she told him he was safe, only to nominate him anyway. Ava brushes it off, saying things changed. She stands firm and shows little concern about Zach’s feelings. Meanwhile, Vince sulks while Morgan and Mickey have a tense exchange. Morgan is frustrated that Mickey wonโt react, even though two of her alliance members are in danger. Since Mickey is close with Ava, Morgan, Vince, and Zach begin to grow suspicious of her loyalty.
Tensions rise further when Will and Ashley tell Mickey that Morgan made a vague threat toward Ava. Since Mickey is close to Ava, she passes that information along. Ava responds by saying that if the veto is used, Morgan will be the replacement nominee. Mickey admits to the camera that sharing that info might have been a mistake, but she doesnโt seem all that sorry about it.
At the veto player draw, Will and Katherine are selected to join Ava, Keanu, Vince and Zach in the competition. Morgan is visibly disappointed that she wasn’t picked. Ava, on the other hand, is thrilled. So thrilled, in fact, that she says if she wins the veto, she might use it herself so she can put Morgan on the block.
Now itโs time for the veto competition. Itโs a disc-sliding challenge where the lowest scorer each round is eliminated. Prizes are handed out in order of elimination, with each player having the chance to keep or steal.
-
Will is eliminated first and receives the Power of Veto.
-
Keanu is next and wins a โpartner in crimeโ punishment, which forces him to choose someone to complete an overnight task. He steals the veto from Will.
-
Zach is eliminated next. He wins a trip to London, but trades it with Will to avoid a punishment. Zach ends up with the โpartner in crimeโ task.
-
Ava is eliminated after that and receives a butler punishment. She trades it with Keanu, taking the veto for herself.
-
Vince is out next and wins $5,000, but decides to take the veto from Ava.
-
Katherine wins the competition. Her prize is an egg costume, which she gives to Vince in exchange for the veto, despite his pleading. Katherine becomes the final holder of the Power of Veto.
As part of the punishment, Zach picks Rachel as his โpartner in crime.โ Vince must dress as a hard-boiled egg detective. Keanu becomes a butler with an oversized fake butt and must prepare and serve pigs in a blanket whenever summoned.
Zach and Rachelโs punishment involves dressing as bandits and transporting money bags within a 12-hour window. Some of the bags explode with blue ink, and after completing the task, they spend time in the Big Brother โjail.โ Itโs overly complicated and honestly, a bit of a mess.
Later, Rachel has a tense exchange with Morgan in the storage room. Ashley had told Rachel that Morgan was in a group talking about sending her to jury. Rachel confronts her, saying, โIโve heard better. Iโve played with better.โ She adds that the group is crazy and sheโs tired of the disrespect.
Rachel then tells Katherine that Morgan is pushing to break up the showmance, hoping to convince Katherine to use the veto and open the door for Morgan to go on the block.
Meanwhile, Zach considers using his power but hesitates, worried it could result in Morganโs nomination. In the end, he chooses not to use it. Katherine also opts not to use the veto, so the nominations stay the same.
Keanu, Zach, and Vince remain on the block heading into eviction. That was a close call for Morgan, but will it end up a major blunder for Zach? Be sure to join us here Thursday night for our live recap of Big Brother 27 to find out.
