Last Thursday night, as I was watching the Big Brother 23 Head of Household competition play out on my computer, I found myself screaming at my screen for Tiffany to not win. I just knew it was going to be a disaster for her, and when the tiny veto was won by Alyssa this week, it was just that.
Wednesday night’s episode picked up right after the nomination ceremony. Tiffany, as we know, nominated Alyssa and Xavier.
And Xavier is still upset that Alyssa got nominated before Claire. He’s pretending he’s upset that he’s on the block again, but he just really wanted his plus one around until last.
Tiffany lets us know that Alyssa is her target this week and if she wins veto, then she’s going to be forced to choose between her plus one (Claire) and the Cookout.
Derek and Xavier really don’t trust Tiffany to do that. For some reason they really think she is going to be the one to turn on the alliance, despite her being one of the most dedicated members all season. Xavier is even considering using the veto on Alyssa if he wins – just so Tiffany has to put Claire on the block.
It’s time to pick players for the veto competition. Joining Tiffany, Alyssa and Xavier will be Hannah, Derek and Azah.
And then Zingbot shows up. And he’s ready to roast the houseguests. But this year’s zings were a little weak, if you ask me. Zingbot has lost its edge.
Alyssa’s zing was about her being dumb. Tiffany’s was about being old. Xavier’s was about him being in love with himself. He called Claire Big Foot and Hannah irrelevant. Big D’s zing was something about the toilet. And Azah’s was about her crush on Xavier. Kyland’s was probably the best one – it was a jab at how be rambles on and on in conversations.
So anyway, let’s get to the veto competition. This week, it’s the fun the tiny veto competition that Da’Vonne won last season. This time they have to stack micro cocktail glasses with tweezers.
And after way too long, Alyssa wins the Power of Veto. Tiffany’s worst nightmare has come true. And she knows that she has to put Claire on the block. Despite Derek and Xavier’s endless comments that she’s going to turn on them for some reason, even though she’s never really given them any real reason to think that.
Tiffany lets Claire know that she has to put her up. She tells her that she can’t be the first person to send out one of the black houseguests. And Claire understand her reasoning. Despite how hard it is, she totally gets it.
So at the veto meeting, Alyssa uses the veto on herself and Tiffany names Claire as the replacement nominee. Tiffany and Claire are equally emotional, but Claire still gets it, and maybe the Cookout men can finally stop thinking they can’t trust Tiffany (spoiler alert: they haven’t stopped).
